മഴയുടെ അളവ് എത്രയായിരുന്നു. മുന്നത്തെ കാലത്ത് ഉരുൾ പൊട്ടൽ ഉണ്ടാവാറില്ലേ? നല്ല മരങ്ങൾ ഉള്ള ഉൾവനങ്ങളിൽ അല്ലേ കൂടുതൽ ഉരുൾപൊട്ടൽ ഉണ്ടാവ റുള്ളത്.
ഉണ്ടാവാറുണ്ട്. പക്ഷേ കാട്ടിനുള്ളിൽ ഉരുൾ പൊട്ടിയാലും ജനവാസം ഇല്ലാത്തത് കൊണ്ട് ആൾനാശം ഉണ്ടാവാറില്ല. ഇപ്പൊ വനപ്രദേശം കയ്യേറി റിസോർട്ടും വീടും ഉണ്ടാക്കി താമസം തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ ഇത് പോലെ ഉള്ള ദുരന്തങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാവാൻ തുടങ്ങി.

Stupid, landslides happen throughout history. There were landslides during dinosaurs era. There will be landslides in future also. Peope will die. Thats gods decision
There was a study and report by Madhav S Gadgil which got rejected due to the pressure of people living in these environmentally fragile area and vested interest people like religious groups. Even P T Thomas was not given his sitting seat to contest for Loksabha elections. This is something called for.
I agree! But what I was talking about was the media lecturing which happens when something like this happens. If this area is inhabitable or non residential,the government should have taken some effort to relocate the people with basic necessities. The ultimate power in democracy is the government and law. So they should have taken strict actions before something like this happens. I absolutely hate when the media instantaneously blames the people and government only during these times to get the poor media attention. Also this is the place where there were no warnings about any kind of natural disasters. Can't predict anything now. Even we may feel safe where the place we are living and putting comments without knowing the actual emotions these people are going through.

Gadgil report never mentioned that wayanad is not residential or inhabitable. There are some areas prone to landslides. Before coming and putting comments just go through some fact check before.

Will definitely cause landslide, may be trees/rocks can reduce soil erosion, in few years many parts of idukki and Wayanad will be wiped out as temperature is rising in Arabian sea because of pollution. We should immediately stop all construction activities in these places and move people to other districts

I can make a system that gather all the data including soil moisture, seismic activity of the area and vibration sensor and rain gauge it can send data upto 12 km line of sight we can use this data to train an ai models that can probably predict the landslide and other natural disaster
