I’m glad Tasha choose to bring a little awareness on alcoholics & the people who are forced to deal with it. My dad is an alcoholic as well, same situation too, except no divorce. It’s not easy watching and/or being around a loved one who isn’t in their right mind. As people are saying in the comments, it’s true, that you can’t force your father or anyone to change. He has to want it for himself. I would just avoid my father, I stayed out his way, and kept to myself. Understand it’s NOT you, your father loves you. He just has his own demons he’s facing. You can’t argue or prove points to someone who isn’t sober, they will always believe or think what they want. I’m 22 now and it still hurts till this day knowing my dad struggles with drinking. Prayers to the 17 year old boy. You are NOT alone.
As a 32 year old woman who has finally resolved her “daddy issues” regarding her alcoholic father, I have a lot to say about the first topic! 1. Your father will not change until he is ready to. You can only focus on YOU. I wish I knew this sooner because I so badly wanted him to change and right when we thought he did, he would do something outrageous. Every, single, TIME! Find a good therapist and focus on yourself and how you can handle your dad. For example: I take my dad in “doses”. Once he starts acting out of pocket, I kindly remove myself from the situation, leave and I let it go. Because I refuse to allow him to affect my emotions any more. He did it for decades. My dad is what they call a “dry drunk” he stopped drinking in 2019 but he is STILL the same person. He’s never done a program. My dads never apologized for his behavior and he still to this day believes he’s done nothing wrong. I have accepted that. Do I think it’s right? No. Is my entire family owed an apology? Yes. But I can’t force him and refuse to. 2. Once I forgave my dad (spiritually with God, NOT directly to my dad) I released all the resentment I held towards him for decades and I felt like his actions no longer affected me the way they normally did. It no longer served my heart. I did it for MYSELF not him, because it was affecting me. Every single time. Now it does not. Your mother is a grown woman, and if she chooses to put up with your fathers bullshit (my mom is similar to yours), her prerogative, HER CHOICE, I couldn’t change her either. If she wants to deal with his drunken mess, let her. Focus on what YOU will allow from people in your life, family or not. This world is crazy and sometimes our closest loved ones can hurt us, but we can’t make excuses for that behavior. Toxic is toxic and once you find a formula on how you can deal with your father - if you want to even at all, if you don’t thats fine too, you have every right - you will be in a much more healthy space. Do not blame yourself, ever! Much love💙
“Check us out and see if you like us…” now sis! What’s NOT to like about y’all?!?! Y’all literally make my mornings!!! I hit the “like” button as I rap along with the intro music🤣🤣🤣
I’m 28. Drugs & alcohol ran/run in my family… All I have learned in my lifetime of pleading, crying, worrying and begging someone to change for you cause you love them so much & know what kinda person they can be when they are sober but the reality is they won’t change for nobody but them selves and if he don’t see no wrong in his doings (which they usually don’t cause they are selfish) All you can do is do and be better than your parents. What I mean by that is when I became a mom at 21 I realized I am not my parents faults or mistakes. We get to write our own story! I am choosing to break these generational curses! Also once you learn what your own boundaries are you will realize you can love people from afar. Pray for them & truly only focus on your own mental health & well being! Good luck friend! You got this & you are enough, loved & you will be the one to change your family and bring healing & love ❤️🩹
I love yall, I have never made a comment but this video tho is a mess but honeys that is a lot of our life's yall are real n that is what this world needs. Keep being you n I love yall together I pray for a love like yall s thank you
My heart goes out to this young man. I would first try speaking to his Dad when he is sober. It will not change over night so maybe give him a little time to see if he really is going to change or wants to change. Sadly because you depend on your parents financially it's going to be hard for him to leave. Unless you have a friend or family member you can stay with? Maybe explain to them the situation and they can help you. I wish I had better advice. My thoughts and prayers are with him and I sincerely hope his Father gets help and changes ❤🙏
Good Evening Stephanie and Tasha, happy Tuesday night to you both, I'm so late watching you, but I have been on the go since 5:45am with doctor's appointments, But you know I had to come show you beautiful ladies some LOVE ❤ 😍
I have no doubt about you guys genuineness that comes across in y’all’s videos. That’s why I personally became attracted to the channel. I honestly don’t mind what the mukbang or choice of meal, challenges, pranks are🤷🏽♀️. I enjoy y’all’s company 💁🏽♀️. Good morning ladybugs ☺️☀️☺️
Good morning! Food looks tasty 😋! I look forward to daily uploads from y’all 🥰 trust me some of these ytubers don’t put in half the effort you ladies do..so this is not a bad video. Happy Easter Sunday!🐰 As always I Enjoyed the video 👍🏽💕💕
Good morning Happy Easter Sunday you guys video yesterday was awesome 👌and I love when you guys do challenges while you're eating ❤❤ I just love you guys
I’m at the end and is why I love y’all lol. I was thinking “This video is a mess lol” and then y’all said it lol. I of course still watched the ads and hit the like button, but I was so confused with everything going on lol
This was a good one. Also for the viewer topic, unfortunately an alcoholic or addict won’t quit for others. They have to want to quit. As for your mom she has to be tired of being tired. I wish u a bright future. I pray he quits drinking. Since he’s not aggressive or abusive towards u then maybe calmly sit down and have a conversation with him. Try to be calm. It’s a disease. I’ve never been into alcohol or drugs but we’re raised around it all. U have a bright future ahead of u. Reach for the stars. Good luck. 💖🙏🏻💙🙏🏻
To the young man who reached out to yall about his drunk father..let me just start by saying I'm so sorry for what you're having to go thru. I know first hand that it is NOT easy. Both of my parents are alcoholics and up until I was about your age..I didn't realize how bad it had gotten. But it was never taken out on us kids either as far as physically and they were never physical with each other. But..there were alot of arguments which you gotta at some point just try to not argue back cuz you cant argue with a drunk person. They'll always "be right". I remember this one time tho when I was 22 and pregnant with my 2nd child and I had to live with them cuz my situation was not good. Well..I was in the shower and my parents got into an argument so loud that I could hear it in the shower so I got out cuz I wanted to try to diffuse the situation so my younger siblings and my daughter didnt wake up. Well..my dad swore that I was going after my mom when all I was doing was walking into the living room to make sure she was ok and he grabbed me by my upper arms and pushed me to the ground and told me it was my fault and kicked me out at 1 am. I ended up with bruises on my arms and on my belly from where I fell. I tell you this cuz..it may not be physical now but it very well could end up that way. Drunks are very unpredictable. So please please be careful. But if theres any chance you can get out at 18, I'd recommend doing it. Now that's not to say you cant still love your dad.. but just do it from a distance. I, a little later on ended up dealing with drug addiction and my dad basically disowned me cuz of it. Which I still to this day dont understand. Drug addiction is no different than being an alcoholic. So for him to pretend he was better than me..made no sense. Both of them still to this day are alcoholics but since they're "functioning alcoholics" it's ok. 🙄 the logic is unreal lol. Anyway, I would definitely try to distance yourself once you turn 18 if you're able to. It won't necessarily be easy..but I promise you itll be worth it. I hope you already have a job and can stay away as much as possible now and are able to save up. If you want anyone to talk to or any advice, I'd be glad to be there for you. If you'd like that..just respond with either your facebook so I can message you or your email and I'd be happy to talk with you. I'm still fairly young myself so it's not like I'd be talking to you as a parent lol. But just someone who can relate to you and give advice if I can. But if not, hang in there sweetheart. You're almost an adult and to the point where you can get out of there and not have to deal with it first hand!
Good morning ladies! Happy Easter! I think you guys should have a schedule like 2 times a week so you don’t become overwhelmed. Although it would suck for me but I understand there much more to do outside of the RUclips life and y’all deserve all the opportunities out there. Good luck to you guys and you got this Tasha!
Happy Easter yall my step dad was a drunk an one time I was 16 an fed up with him hitting me an my sister so i knocked him out I know now it was wrong but back then I needed to do something for him to stop hitting us it worked never hit us again
Stephanie talked so many times with a full mouth 😆 🤣 And as for the topic you and the family need to try to encourage him to seek treatment and the family can find family counseling and go to meetings with him
