Mark B is right no matter what you say 😉😂 Congrats on 15K (i say it in advance) 😉 Oh wow you go to Tofino first fly to Seattle, then fly to Vancouver, then fly to Tofino 🤣 Bring a Sand Scorcher with you, it's perfect on sand
Awesome upgrade and answer to Mark's video. AME🤔. What was your first RC? Do you've other hobbies? Maybe I'll come back. I'm not as spontanious as many other.
My first RC was a Sears Frame Buggy. I think Nikko made them? This would have been 1984 or so? Other hobbies include: Powerlifting, Snowboarding and 1:1 cars. 👊🏼
i'm leaving for Myrtle Beach on Monday so I'll try to pass on some of the nice weather down there your way so you can get some running vids! Can't promise anything, but worth a shot! Cheers bud! see you in the next vid! It will always be "excellent"!
It appears to be raining gauntlets in my front yard!!! 😂😂 Thanks for the guest appearance, Fil, I'm loving the animations you did there! But hey, seems everyone is dismissing the little old TT02, but I reckon it'll be closer than you think! Great vid anyway dude and a massive congrats on the success of your channel. My question for you is non-RC related: What's the best thing and worst thing that have happened in your life? Stay most excellent my Canadian brother! 😎👊👍
The TT-02 whisperer has spoken and the people must listen! Haha! Hey, listen, if anyone can make the TT-02 reign Supreme, it's Mark Bryan. I'm eagerly anticipating our shootout! 😄👊🏼 As for your question: I'd say the worst thing and best thing are one in the same... I got divorced in my early 30's which was the toughest thing I went through in my life. Interestingly enough, my ex wife's career brought us to a city I never thought I'd live in (and NEVER wanted to live in), and it was there (several years later) where I met Bre, my wife, who is EASILY the best human being I've ever met in my life. She's my biggest cheerleader and the best partner a guy could ask for. 😎
Congrats on the numbers Fil! I am sure by the time you read this you’ll be past 15k!! So I think you are going to be surprised by Mark’s TT02. It is a secret weapon on the rally stages pal! Now the main event…. I want to know what was that RC you always wanted as a kid but never managed to get? Do you now own it??
Thanks for all the support, Craig! You're awesome! As for Mark's TT02, I know he's got that sucker dialed. I've been studying his videos and I think I can beat him. It's game on from here! 🤣 As for the kit I've always wanted... I think the Nissan King Cab is that RC... It always stood out as an impressive kit to me as a kid, and as you know they're hard to come by these days. I'm really hoping for a rere run, as I still don't have one in my collection. 😁
Looking forward to see you paint up the Pumpkin, I've been looking for vids on priming/sanding/painting a hard body and not seen anything that helpful so far.
Right on pal, I'm working on that video so you'll see it soon! In the meantime, have you seen my RC Bodywork series? We did some major bodywork and paint on a Midnight Pumpkin Lowrider body. You might enjoy it! 😉
Congrats on the channel growth! The hard work and passion shows, and I have been spreading the word about your speed run challenge last year. These guys at the hobby shop think I'm insane for pushing a TT02 to 100mph (and it is), but I'm like "Poorboys did a challenge last year, it's already been done, and I talk to the world record holder.. he's helping me" 😁
Congrats on the amazing channel growth Fil! Well deserved for sure! For questions for you, I have a few.. 1. How many built cars and trucks do you have now and how many are waiting to be be built? 2. Aside from the Midnight Pumpkin what is your favorite monster truck, buggy and and on-road car? 3. What is your "holy grail" RC kit you would love to own?
Thanks Addam, appreciate it dude! 🙏 I think I've got about 62 cars now, haha. Only 1 that needs to be built, that's the Midnight Pumpkin. Fav MT: Clod Buster Fav Buggy: Hotshot Fav on road car: Porsche 934 45th anniversary. Holy Grail: Porsche 959
To be honest the best person that can judge on the model in all fairness is Dario from Dario Rc garage. He actually performs in many rally car events .
How funny..... I am actually watching this as I take a dump mate! 💩 😂 How did you know?!! Congratulations dude, not far off 16k now, that ramped up in no time didn't it? Guessing that's guna mean even more entries in the speed challenge this year?! 🏁 There's no denying that the Fazer is a better car..... and I'm really not a TTO2 fan at all, but don't underestimate the mighty Mark, he is top of his game, and a real Don with dialing in, and upgrading cars, especially that platform. I think it's guna be close! As with you, the mighty pumpkin is one of my favourites(and my first ever!).... So really looking forward to that content. Loving the retro body, it was so cool when they all came in the white plastic, which I'm sure was thicker than the re releases. I'm guessing you also have the proper FORD stamped tail gate, and V8 grill from the original? Awesome! As for the question..... need to have a think about that one and report back fella. 😊 👍 👍 👍
I could feel the big dump vibes coming from the dark side... lol! 😂😂😂 But you said it mate, Mark is a fierce competitor and if anyone is going to get their TT02 to hang with a Fazer, it's him. Bring it on, Mark!!! 😂🍻
Looking forward to the tt02 shoot out with the kyosho. I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for the tt02 though as it was my first hobby grade rc! Would love to see a virtual tour around your hobby room looking at all your rc’s. How many cars have you got? Do you have any rc planes or helicopters?
The TT02 is a solid platform, and such a versatile chassis. It's awesome! 👍🏻 I was thinking of doing a hobby room tour video, so I'll put one together for you guys soon! I think I'm at 60+ cars now. 😳 But no planes, heli's, or drones (yet).
Yeah, dude, awesome job on the channel growth, well deserved, you worked hard for it! Lots of great stuff going on for you, lots to watch for all those thousands of us subscribed to you, ha ha! I'm looking forward to that paint video, you're a painter by trade, right? Well, now you're a RUclipsr by trade, but used to be a painter? We can let that be my first question. The second question could be, how many coats of white is needed to cover a Candy Green Grasshopper when not using primer first? And the serious question would of course be how the hell does the primer work? I recently screwed up and thought it was a good idea to skip the primer and I learned that it wasn't... Anyway, have a good one, my friend!
Thanks for all the support, Mads. I would be here without ya! 👊🏼🍻 To answer your questions: I started my autobody career off as a painter. I didn't paint for long before I ended up in Management then working my way up to running my own Market in Western Canada. I've always loved painting, and my wife is an autobody painter now. And she's WAAAAY better than I ever was! Lol! White is usually pretty opaque, as long as it's a solid white. White pearl is very translucent, so if we're talking solid white, it should take 3-4 coats to cover well. Play it by eye though, as the best way to know if you've got coverage is by your own eyes. If you're ever not sure, just snap a pic and send it on over! Think of primer as a tool to make your paint job that much better. On an ABS body, not on lexan, of course! Haha. But the ABS shells have imperfections in them from the moulding process. You can see directional lines in the plastics some times, etc... Primer is thick, and it's intended purpose is to create a uniform substrate for you to paint over. So, your ABS body is imperfect. You and down any edges, do your body work, etc... You then hit it with 3-4 thin coats of primer. This will fill in any of your sanding scratches, and level out any imperfections in the ABS. If you need to do any more sanding or priming, now is the time. Once your primer looks nice and smooth and you're happy with your body work, you can start to apply your main colour. The thick primer acts as a bed for your colour to stick to, offering better adhesion, plus a smoother look. Hope that helps! 😁🍻
@@poorboysrc Thanks for the awesome reply, Fil! I thought you were going to do a video where you sit and read the questions and reply to them, he he... But this is great, I definitely need this knowledge if and when I next time need to paint a hardbody...
I will say one day " I knew that guy when he had 4k subs" lol Keep up the great work. You may need to hire someone to help with the speed run challenge this year!
Spin your camera around the studio so that I can spy the Block Head HotShot. 😊 Congrats! Fil I do see a silver RUclips plaque coming in the near future my friend. Keep these cool vids coming.
1st - when did u go to 15k 😂👍last time you were on 7 🤜well done mate 👍👍👍 oh dear lawd don’t get mark started on the tt02 😂 he won’t give up ya know . however my xv01 is clearly the best rally machine so you are both wrong 😂👍
The past two months have been crazy, Dom! My channel got popular in India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Malaysia and my subs jumped through the roof! I'm so happy to see the growth! Yeah Mark is the TT02 whisperer, lol! But that said, he also suggested the XV01, as he's got a lot of experience with that chassis as well. We decided to go TT02 as it's more of a similar layout to the Mk2.
As a Tamiya rookie I'd say prepare financially for the "Tamiya Bug" to bite you, haha. Most of us start with one, then before you know it, you've got 2, 3, 10! - You might want to consider purchasing a radio with multi model memory. I use the Flysky Gt3B. They're inexpensive, cheap receivers, and 10 model memory! 👊🏼
The TT02 can be a real challenge to get it going straight, but it is possible. You'll have to do some upgrades (bearings, steel suspension pivot balls, etc...) to try and get rid of some slop. From there, make sure you've got good tires on, with foams, glued. Then work at dialing it in... A good steering servo helps, and upgrading to the aluminum steering also is a big help. 👌
If you look at the Mk2 and TT02, the chassis' are very much alike. XV01/2 chassis are very different, so we started here. We may try the XV series next! 👍🏻
There's no chance that a TT02 will outrun a Faser over the long haul it will eventually break something or loose a driveshaft or just rollover and die a death. 😅😂😢

It sounds like you may have inadvertently moved to the UK, here have some rain and if that's not enough, here have some more for two full months!
Yeah we sure do share some gloomy weather at times, don't we? 😭
Wish the Associated Apex 2 Rally Conversion could be in the mix for the Rally shootout.
I'll have to look into that one.
Better comparison would be the xv01/xv02. Have you seen the MJX hyper go D3 rally btw? Its smaller scale but has been a blast!
I haven't seen that Hyper Go up close yet, but I'm thinking I might end up with one in the future. 👊🏼
