Não é que antigamente as pessoas falavam com o mesmo vocabulário do hino da independência, é que hinos sempre vão ter um vocabulário acadêmico e formal. Mas claro, de lá pra cá a língua mudou bastante, seria estranho se mão mudasse, tenta comparar a carta de Pero Vaz de Caminha na ortografia original com qualquer outro documento formal de 1900 pra cá. I understand full well the shortcomings of a monarchy, although a constitutional one seems alright. But what gets me is just how I think it's kinda a shame it ended. Like I understand why of course, but I personally kinda see a charm in the fact that you have the continued link with the middle ages through the monarchy. Like it lasted so long. I kinda see a charm in it. Obviously it's a heavily romanticised view, but still.
Oh god, i'm having this weird uncanny valley feeling where i know it's another lenguage and still the cadence of the words and the accent on the vocals makes me feel like i'm listening my local italian dialect. Kinda like hearing some old men having a discussion in another room. I can't make out the words but i can recognize the sounds.
