I have 2 story building with 2 flats with a total 3500 sq.ft (800 sq.ft pet flat)
All the flats are owned by one person. Flats are leased for residential purposes. All flats have separate building numbers and electricity connection. This building comes under Panchayat.

ഒരു വീടിൻ്റെ first floor മകൻ്റെ പേരിലും, bottom floor എൻ്റെ പേരിലും ആണ്. രണ്ടു ഹൗസ് number കളും electric connections എന്നിവ seperate ആയിട്ട് ഉണ്ട്. 2500 sq.ft വീതമുള്ള രണ്ട് floor കളാണ്. ഇതിന് ബിൽഡിംഗ് ഒന്ന് ആണ് എന്ന കാരണത്താൽ Luxury tax കൊടുക്കേണ്ടി വരുമോ ?

ഇന്നലെ ആർഡിഒ ഓഫീസിൽ പോയിരുന്നു. അവിടത്തെ senior superintendent പറഞ്ഞത് 30 വയസ്സുള്ള മകൻ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിട്ടില്ല അതു കൊണ്ടു് luxury tax തന്നേ പറ്റൂ എന്നാണ്. Covid പ്രമാണിച്ച് 4000 രൂപ എന്നത് ഇക്കൊല്ലം 7500 രൂപ ആക്കി കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തു.
ഇതിൻ്റെ എതെങ്കിലും നിയമ വശങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, ഇതു് ഒഴിവാക്കാൻ ഉള്ള clauses/ paragraphs അയച്ച് തരുമോ? അപേക്ഷയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്താൻ ആണ്.

While calculating area for Luxury tax (Above 3000sqft), whether authorities consider the see through area from first floor?
Rightnow my total plinth area including both floor is 2946Sqft.
But ground floor living room (210sqft) has double height roof.

Lots of family who built above 3000 even. It's 3002 or 3005 . Have to give luxuary tax yearly .
If you loose your job ( as more privitization occurs ) it's you feel burn in later years .even in Kerala now the increasing eb prices itself are becoming unaffordable even to those getting high salary , I know lot of people who after returning from gulf or their retirement age fails to pay these taxes as it's burden them
