Know what..... no one brings sandwiches to the office because they just have a boring microwave here, which makes the bread tastes terrible.... I'll bring my toaster and make everyones life in the office much better!!!!!!
Good news lovely hungry friends ! Check out the italian / english and french subtitles on the last video Croque Monsieur Sandwich : You can cook French ! ***** great job !
Just brillant!!!! I work with french colleagues, and i will bring my Toaster, ham, cheese and alu foil to work to show them that i can make croque monsieur!!! Bam!!!
I have a tiny amount of Dijon mustard spread on the ham. It's so very strong in flavour, so a little goes a long way! It brings out all to a new level though, enhancing the saltiness of the ham somehow, and also complementing the cheese. Lovely!
I've always admired how over there in France, you guys REALLY know how to savor every pleasure life has to offer, and food is no exception, that's why you never get fat!. At least you give your brains enough time to perceive each and every flavor, smell and texture instead of shoving everything down!. In the book '' French women don't get fat" there's a passage where the author talks about eating a couple of apple slices, some cheese and a glass of white wine for HOURS!
Parchment paper wrapped around the cheesy toast... why did I never think about that o.O I thought about turning the toaster on its side but not about parchment paper. And a person like me calls herself graduate -.- oiiii....
Loved the toaster idea! In fact I loved it so much I got up and made myself a croque monsieur right away. C'était délicieux. Merci! Cheers from Toronto
Technically it is a croque-Monsieur, but not the one we usually eat nowadays in France, which often comes with béchamel and/or grilled cheese topping. Interesting way to use a toaster though, and this is definitely a smart and quick method to get a good ham & cheese sandwich... thanks French Guy
Salut! :) Ha! :) Maryse
You sir, are epic (in all the best meanings of the word) sir! I truly enjoy every video so far and you're certainly a true Foodie :) Thank you very much for your videos and recipes. Can't wait to see more and keep it up for me and that guy and this one and that shy girl over there and the whole rest of the universe.
Next time you're in Chicago, I will be happy to make you MY version. A kind of fusion between what Americans call French Toast, a Ruben, a Monte Christo, and a Crunchy Mister. Trust me, its worth the trip to the middle of nowhere USA. Keep up the great work! You are a joy to watch.
Delicious! My grandma actually had one of those machines to make sandwiches and when she made them she called them "platillos voladores" (as in flying saucers). :)
mmm tasty and ingenious in cuban cuisine theres a similiar one called a medianoche on puerto rican sweet bread i bet this would be good on hawaiian or potatoe bread! maybe a smokey sauce....frenchie you inspire me!
I had no idea that this dish was called a Croque Monsieur, and that you can do it in a toaster! Great channel you have going on here, I hope for more recipes coming up soon!
1:18 you missed the 3 "is not human" xD great video Alex! j'adore tes recettes :D! i have been watching a lot of them lately! tu es magnifique! keep making them please! salut :D
I use Comté, wich is clearly the best cheese in the world 😁 and I put butter on the top and base of the sandwich, it makes it more goldy crunchy tasty 👌😊
Haha. To be honest, I would like to eat 10 of them because it's so addictive. But I'm talking about my family. When we want to eat snacks like that, at least 10 of these are made from the waffle/sandwich-maker.
merry me french guy cooking! tu est super! nous porrions vivre dans une grande cuisine ensemble et je t'apprend les saveurs de la cuisine brésilienne! lol
It’s 2018 and as I eat my crrrunchy crroque monsieur, I just wanted to let you know there is a grilled cheese toaster on Amazon. You can use it for this sandwich Alex made and skip the foil or parchment paper step. This is what I want for my birthday!!!!!!
Dear French GUY I hope u as well as always I like the way ur gonna Demonstrate ur cooking ;-) I have a question, plz Jamie Oliver and Gennaro Contaldo sometimes use red or white wine in cooking specially on pasta sauce! Is it possible to offer anything alcohol-free instead of wine to cook the pasta sauce? the Vinegar is suitable replacement or not? TanQ
You made Auntie MSE very happy...Mon Dieu you are so damn smart...grilled sandwich in a toaster??? that is melty sandwich heaven... Can I SUBSCRIBE TWICE? hahahaaaaaaaa you are the best French Guy Cooking ...muah love you bunches
Yes it is. You have to cook it well , and then mix it very well. It's not supposed to replace béchamel if you know how to do it, but it is a good cheat's ;)
haha love your food alex! easy, clever and delicious.... but seriously the cheese you used up there is not a gruyere ;) so expensive, trust me i know :D big ups from berlin !
I remembered it covered in cheese... This looks, ike a simple toast. And the croque madame has the egg... But I have a very poor memory. Love the idea of making the french cusine less intimidating though.
Houra ! You will love it !! What you're looking for ? Cheap ? popular ? Famous ? Iconic ? Off the beaten tracks ? french food ? world food ? alone or with a friend ?
Okay so... Check these french style : Chez Prosper : 7 av Trône, 75011 Paris ( 20€ ) Bistrot Paul Bert : 18 Rue Paul Bert, 75011 Paris ( 35 € ) (one of my favorite.. cheaper for lunch though ) L' Ebauchoir : 43 Rue de Cîteaux, 75012 Paris ( 30€ )
well, as a breton I would say that something very important is missing ! what about the salted butter which would make the edges crisp in a very reconforting way ?also leave the bechamel out, it is so parisian.
I have to warn you that yes, it is COMPLETELY possible that parchment paper can catch fire in a toaster. In a classroom, and now I am just grateful that the smoke alarm did not go off. I am thankful that some people don't panic from a little bit of fire and are willing to put out the flames with their shoes!
or maybe just a little bit of spices and a couple of sliced onions also add some great flavours :D yeah i tried a couple of things with those croqee monsieur, or how we would call them in Danish Pariser toast :D
i feel like this guy understands me and my student budget.
+Holly Winn Oh I do.

Hahaha you may be right ! But don't worry, we get fat eventually ;)

Love the idea of making the french cusine less intimidating though.
Well the original recipe of the croque monsieur is without bechamel sauce (the whole covering). But feel free to add some if you like it this way ;)

Terima kasih !
Can I make it on the Griddle to
I think you can try ;) I bet it will work
Not traditional, but OK, since I was trained in a French cooking school, I opt for the true bechamel over top and broiled under the salamander
Jeff Heffner Respect that !
well, as a breton I would say that something very important is missing ! what about the salted butter which would make the edges crisp in a very reconforting way ?also leave the bechamel out, it is so parisian.
+Chloé Méjean I have no unsalted butter in my fridge. Haha.
Lol you always make me laugh
I have to warn you that yes, it is COMPLETELY possible that parchment paper can catch fire in a toaster. In a classroom, and now I am just grateful that the smoke alarm did not go off. I am thankful that some people don't panic from a little bit of fire and are willing to put out the flames with their shoes!
