- Authorities say that a U.S. Marshals task force was serving a warrant at a home near Charlotte, N.C., when they were fired on. In addition to the three who were killed, five others were wounded, including four Charlotte police officers. Michelle Boudin of WCNC reports.

If they knew where he lived they probably had him under surveillance and could have taken him easily in a traffic stop or in a convenience store when he was standing there without a automatic rifle. Because you don't know what people have waiting for you in their homes

The problem is statistically more shootings will happen during vehicle encounters or open air encounters as opposed to a structure. Vehicle and open air takedown put potentially a lot of innocent people at risk

This sounds like a major procedural failure. If they knew what they were going into, as the local cop said, they were woefully unprepared.

But when you go in to serve a warrant for the same thing in Chicago, and you’re TOO prepared, and are able to swiftly act after an officer is shot, you get called racist and people start demanding justice for the shooter…

Maybe they should start using the SWAT team to serve warrants.
That’s a terrible idea. First swat is used for emergencies cases second swat is ment for active situations so they tend to be more trigger happy which can make the situation worse.

It took three Marshalls to serve a warrant??? Okay so the police chief knew how dangerous. THEY should NEVER have been allowed near that house.
That was a U S Marshall operation not CMPD. The guy wasn't even from Charlotte. Don't try to blame black police Chief because the US Marshall's were anything but elite and got taken out. Acmpd officer got killed responding as backup who had nothing to do with it. The Marshall's caused their death, cmod officer death and injuries of all other officers.
Condolences to the families and loved ones of the Marshals and the police officers that lost their lives. Hopefully the wounded recover soon.
