The vision of Hlk’yak’ii: To Start A Fire is to facilitate and promote sovereign and sustainable solutions to energy independence and human resilience in the face of climate change. This focus on resilience and sovereignty is at the heart of our virtual programming - which will highlight the importance of food sovereignty here on Haida Gwaii to help lower our climate footprint and increase our sense of community.
As a part of the shift in programming for the Hlk’yak’ii exhibition, Haida Gwaii Museum and Swiilawiid Sustainability Society has partnered with Healthy Haida’s and will be featuring 5 episodes on Haida Independence and Sustainability produced by InnoNative.

This is such a great demonstration of how to smoke the black cod. Great tutorial and knowledge you've shared for the generations to come. I would be leery to use carpet to cut the fish on, unless it's changed after each use, but it certainly helped to hold your fish stationary, without any effort. Great team work ladies.
