Thank you, Jules, for excellent lesson. I am over 50 years old and after 3 years self learning guitar from RUclips community, this lesson unlocks my mind. So, from now on, I am able to create a solo over chords for my own even though horrible sounds but proudly it’s my own licks…
Jules, I really appreciate you and your lessons. You have the ability to take these guitar concepts and boil them down to just the right level and then build on them! Keep up the hard work of making these lessons easier!👍
This is awesome video that breaks down the process of making solos that sound great without the trial and error path. The best part is that it forces you to break out the pentatonic boxes. Thank you for making this video and sharing your knowledge!
I´m an old sucker trying to play guitar and you are a real inspiration to continue, because of your clear and easy to understand lessons despite missing any talent for it.
This guy is really good. He is calm and explains it well. Love his channel 😎👍✌️💯🎸🎸. I'm currently trying to memorize the guitar fretboard. Beginner guy
Thank you, Jules ! Great lesson ! In the beginning such an easy idea , and at the end so nice and groovy - step by step. And thanks for the tabs at the end to understand better! Gerald
Great lesson! This is very helpful to start and learn and understand how to develop a melodic solo that’s in key and out of the “boxes” that I’ve been stuck in since I was a teenager!
Thank you very much for the superb lesson. It answers precisely to my question over years on soloing using the pentatonic scale. “I can see clearly now and the rain is gone” 😊
It's an amazing feeling when you find a teacher who can impart their knowledge to unravel the mysteries of a subject. Thank you Jules for adding several pieces to the puzzle!!
Great teacher and player ! Thank you for teaching on this important way of thinking and not getting lost on what chord is going by. Cant wait to practice this everyday day! Subbed
Great video Jules - most interesting and helpful guide for me as I’ve spent too long in the pentatonic box and been totally unable to create any lead lines or melodic solos ! 👍😃. Thanks !
Jules thank you! Great lesson as usual. You have a great technique to deconstruct music into its simple building blocks to help people who want to get to the next level. Thanks buddy 👍
I could kiss you!! Your lessons are easily top tier on RUclips. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us all, yours is my go-to channel man. Seriously, you rock bro!
Amazing tutorial and one of the best teachers here on youtube! Going to practice this approach today. Btw, I have subscribed to your channel immediately also clicked the notification bell 🎸💯🎵
This is exactly the lesson I've been looking for..........for the last couple of years I've been improvising just in the key of the song and although it sounds musical I want to be able to make it more melodic and following this example will allow me to focus on this
I enjoy your lessons. And I have subscribed to your channel. Could you please leave a link to the backing tracks so I can practice along with them… Thank you. God bless.
Great lesson and you are an amazing guitarist and teacher. What was the logic of choosing the target notes is it any note in the chord that's in the Em scale then why chose A for D and B for G and not those root notes of the chords itself. Thanks
HI Jules, Thank you very much for this video ! I have 2 questions : 1) How did you pick the notes to target ? Like why the 5th of the C chord and not the 3rd or the root? Is there a rule or you can pick any note form the chord as long as you're consistent ? 2) Do we have to know the fretboard by heart to know where are the notes we wish to target or we can find a way around learning all the fretboard ?
9 out of 10 advanced guitarists would not explain as clearly and logically as you have here. Another super lesson.
So true, I have watching for a year over guiter lead solo but this is on the top
Hands down, RUclips's best "solo over chord progression" video. So clear, precise, and concise!

Excellent video!!
Great lesson and you are an amazing guitarist and teacher. What was the logic of choosing the target notes is it any note in the chord that's in the Em scale then why chose A for D and B for G and not those root notes of the chords itself. Thanks
Did you found out why such notes have been chosed? I noticed that these notes are included in E minor pentatonic
awesome lesson! Any tips for learning to keep track of the changes as a beginner?
I would like a couple of examples on choosing target notes rather than just key notes for my solo
HI Jules, Thank you very much for this video ! I have 2 questions :
1) How did you pick the notes to target ? Like why the 5th of the C chord and not the 3rd or the root? Is there a rule or you can pick any note form the chord as long as you're consistent ?
2) Do we have to know the fretboard by heart to know where are the notes we wish to target or we can find a way around learning all the fretboard ?
Very good ❤❤❤
