    Thank you, Jules, for excellent lesson. I am over 50 years old and after 3 years self learning guitar from RUclips community, this lesson unlocks my mind. So, from now on, I am able to create a solo over chords for my own even though horrible sounds but proudly it’s my own licks…

    This is awesome video that breaks down the process of making solos that sound great without the trial and error path.

    Great lesson! This is very helpful to start and learn and understand how to develop a melodic solo that’s in key and out of the “boxes” that I’ve been stuck in since I was a teenager!

    Great lesson and you are an amazing guitarist and teacher. What was the logic of choosing the target notes is it any note in the chord that's in the Em scale then why chose A for D and B for G and not those root notes of the chords itself. Thanks

    HI Jules, Thank you very much for this video ! I have 2 questions :
    1) How did you pick the notes to target ? Like why the 5th of the C chord and not the 3rd or the root? Is there a rule or you can pick any note form the chord as long as you're consistent ?
    2) Do we have to know the fretboard by heart to know where are the notes we wish to target or we can find a way around learning all the fretboard ?
