Thank you, Jules, for excellent lesson. I am over 50 years old and after 3 years self learning guitar from RUclips community, this lesson unlocks my mind. So, from now on, I am able to create a solo over chords for my own even though horrible sounds but proudly it’s my own licks…

This is awesome video that breaks down the process of making solos that sound great without the trial and error path.
The best part is that it forces you to break out the pentatonic boxes.
Thank you for making this video and sharing your knowledge!

Such example does not get any better clearer to understand the creation of solos. This particular demonstration perfectly with no doubt clears the mind for anyone thus saving years of confusion frustration and desires of giving up learning. Clear as water. Thank you Jules. You deserve an award for unscrambling for everyone the learning of playing guitar

HI Jules, Thank you very much for this video ! I have 2 questions :
    1) How did you pick the notes to target ? Like why the 5th of the C chord and not the 3rd or the root? Is there a rule or you can pick any note form the chord as long as you're consistent ?
    2) Do we have to know the fretboard by heart to know where are the notes we wish to target or we can find a way around learning all the fretboard ?
