I painted portraits for over ten years. Your videos have inspired to break free from likeness in favour of what I want to see. Big brushes, glazing and confidence to do landscapes are the result. Thank you.
Stuart's changed (further simplified) his methods somewhat since this video was shot/posted, but the sense of drama and space in his paintings hasn't changed a bit. Thanks for this, Jackson's. Stuart never ceases to inspire.
Yes, Stuart, sometimes I like the speed watch version of you painting. Sometimes I rush to the end to see what end is- then I can enjoy learning as you take time to teach - + I don't care how many times I have heard it before. Keep up the great work. (I would love to come to France, meet you and learn. I think it would set me free + change my life. Let's see what happens. In meantime I'm overdosing Bing watching + cannot get enough of all your magnificent works teaching --- WOW! THANK YOU, STUART!!!
So great that you share your abilities! Love your style and you definitely have a subconscious influence to push me in the direction I wish to go with painting. Yes, thank you very much.
I would sit for hours listening and learning from you paint, a style I find unique, powerful and the whole process instructive and enjoyable to watch. I hope you haven't lately taken the road to mainstream. Would you partition this painting lesson someday?
Hello again Stuart, i am inspired by this current painting and thought I must have a go at this too, albeit with modifications in the lower landscape view. I have attempted to produce a land/sea view recently inspired by your loose and free movement approach to your style of painting which as you know, I actually love about your art. I have developed my own style. And try to produce one to two paintings approximately every three weeks in oils but at a different pace to yourself. However, I note that it is possible to complete an oil painting in a matter of four hours or so using your technique of wet on wet and your very fluid style. Ii I can achieve a level of skill similar in this way, I will definitely add to my copyright the "After Stuart Davies" to mark my achievement. Hope this meets your approval sir. Thank you for your inspiration and demonstrations. Paul.
That is very interesting. Your country side is very different from anything here. I thought you were just making it up. How wonderful to live with that every day.
Hi Stuart, glad to find your Chanel . Your technique is just great. What mediums are you using? Can you please mention the colors you use or write it on the screen? Thank so much
Hi Art, I'm Stuart's wife. He must not have received notice of your comment, so apologies for the lack of response. To answer your questions, he simply uses linseed oil. I'll have him comment on the colors he used here!
Today I just came across your videos! I have been watching for 3 hours and I am in awe of your talent and the beauty that you produce! My question is, do you frame these large works of art? Do you use canvas or board? I am more of a tonal impressionist artist too but could not actually 'bring it together' in my opinion. Tomorrow I will use some of your techniques to fulfill a dream of finishing my painting.Thank you so much for these videos!
Hi Deb, I'm Stuart's wife. He must not have received notification of your questions. Apologies for the late response. He paints on both canvas and board but prefers board. He doesn't frame his work unless asked to do so. How's the painting going?
Dielle Ciesco hi I love Stuart’s work he is amazing! I’m wondering how he finishes the board..does he add wood to sides and back, or a way for people to hang? I’m thinking about starting to paint on board too. I’ve never done so. Thank you!!
Stuart! amazing stuff. have recently subscribed to your channel and have learnt a few thing watching you paint. even though we haven't met, but i am your new student. :) wanted to ask if this painting is for sale? and btw i also have been trying to paint distances but im still pretty new and no where near painting what im imagining. any techniques or advice?
Ah Stuart, Tell me you haven't sold out. Barely a scrunched up kitchen paper in sight and a total lack of pasting brushes etc. We all know you're a good painter but it was the ease and results which captured us. The prominence of "quality" brushes, canvas, introductory advertising and irritating mood music isn't you.
I like the painting but this speeded up version I don’t find helpful. Mostly I can see you moving around, but I cannot see how you are painting things. But still I love your work. 5/18/22
Je ne vois pas l'intérêt d'une telle vidéo dont on ne voit que le dos de l'exécutant et qui plus est, ne montre qu'un vague bout de pinceau hystérique !!!!!!

One of your best skies ever. Thank you. Watching you and copying your technique has improved my painting dramatically.
Yet another fine example of your skill and imagination. fantastic Stuart

I think this might be the best Ive seen of your work. That sky is mesmerizing!

Wow. So stunning landscapes . Thanks again for your paintings and tips .
Wonderful! Interesting to see, too, how Stuart's techniques have changed in the six years since this video.
So great that you share your abilities! Love your style and you definitely have a subconscious influence to push me in the direction I wish to go with painting. Yes, thank you very much.
I love finding your older videos.
Fabulous! My favorite landscape of yours so far!

Hi..big Fan here. No cheap brushes in this video. How come you rarely do shadows? Love your work. and technique.

Hi Art, Thanks! The colours are listed at the end of the video.
Thank you so much!😊
Great work! One question what do you see in nature that inspires you to create, is there anything beyond the mundane?

@@StuartDavies which ones are? and since im ur online student, be merciful with the prices my dear sir.
Love your work much prefer when you talk away rather than any music.
I hate the music. I have to mute it.

This seems to be a bio by Jackson's Art Supplies, not Stuart Davies' RUclips channel. So it's not a tutorial. Very nice, though.
My feeling exactly, not pretty but the wow! factor.
Love your painting. But I get so much more out of the paintings that you talk and go in actual time. The fast versions do not help me.
This isn't Stuart's channel

I love the finger action on clouds, but I do worry about you maybe you should wear gloves!!!!!!!!!!!!

Je pense que la raison de la vidéo est la peinture. Pas moi!
