Cameron Fountain drumline tend to be more fun you have the stereotypes like I'm in drumline and the drumline is stereotyped as funny French horn uptight clarinet bossy trumpet BIG ego low brass funny and lives for drama now tell me that most of those aren't true
Scott Smith mine was creepy but trying to be funny French horns, ego but 5% actually good trumpets, saxes where there like nobody could talk down to them, nobody really cared for annoying flutes or the what are those clarinets, then the Drumline to the student section was like god came down and everyone wanted to see him

im bass 1 this year and our horn section appreciates us but also is like "isnt that a lot easier than playing a horn thats just beating on stuff" when we mess up or cant get something and it makes me so upset but also the bass line gets no appreciation 😭✋

Hello! I have never played in band before (homeschooled) but am going to a ‘real school’ next year and definitely want to play. I seriously have my heart set on tenor... I know, go ahead, laugh if you want. Also, I’m a girl. (Cue more laughter) I was wondering if you think I actually had a shot at playing. I’m afraid that if I ask to play tenor or quad everyone will laugh, since it’s very rare to see a girl on tenor, especially in her freshman year. Advice? Thanks.
JCTheCat Practice... a lot... I tried for quads my freshman year and got snare so
JCTheCat I was a freshman girl who got tenors. We were a small drumline and the only other tenor player was a senior. He got sick before the first game and I was the only tenor most of the season with a heavily percussion based show. If you love tenors, I say go for it. I put all my life into learning how to play them and it payed off. Just talk to your director/instructor and tell them you want to play tenors and what should you do to have a shot at it. Good luck!
Hey I'm a girl and just joined drum line and got snare and I just finished 9th grade the only thing to do is practice if he gives you music or something to try out then learn it
All you need to do is focus and practice, I got a tenor practice pad for my birthday and all I did was practice on it and I became the best in my 6th grade band. So just keep your hopes up, and don't let anyone luagh at you.

We're a high stepping band. Nobody knows what that means anymore. We push a really fast tempo and go for more show than sound. The football team practices right next to our practice field and we clearly work harder, and for longer.

how many people and drums of each kind are there in your drumline?
mason trumps there were 5 quads, 10 snares, 5 basses, and around 10-15 Cymbals. We didn't cut anyone so the numbers for the Cymbals fluctuated based on how many people joined band that year
IrishDrummer Holy crap!!! At my high school we only have one quad, three basses, two snares, and two cymbals. I wish that we had that many people😃

Someone tell me the name of cadence
The high school I go to Plymouth high school does a march out To the cadence and we march to the football field and then we marched to the opposite side of the football field where the visitors side as we standby for the pregame show
