Sweet egg curry is probably of the greatest curries in India. Its pretty rare to find, its not really a thing in most restaurants in India. The sweetness comes from caramelised onions.
it won't work. It's way too overpriced even for me who's living in a country with minimal tax and getting higher than average salary. Like what's shown in the video, for 3 small pieces of meat with rice and curry it's gonna cost around 10 USD in my country. The restaurant are expecting people to pay a premium for the curry sauce which is quite ridiculous. It's one of those over-engineered Japanese products, like the Japanese melons.
Whaaaaat. It’s pretty cheap. I ate there occasionally when I lived in Japan. I don’t remember the exact prices, but they were definitely not overpriced by any means.
For those who like indian and Malaysian (Or even Indonesian, Singaporean etc) curries, they will not like japanese curry. Japanese curry only suits people for lighter taste bud.
When I went to India, I discovered that the lobster was very cheap. It was around 700 indian rupees. The entire week that I stayed there, I ate lobster at this chinese restaurant in Oberoi Maill in Mumbai almost everyday.
Coco Ichibanya and other Japanese curry house are quite well known and poppular in Thailand too, despite Thai green curry, red curry , masman curry etc. Diversity is fasinating.
I hope people know what you think of traditional curry is also fairly new to India in grand scheme of things...considering key ingredients of 'curry' came after discovery of the Americas. Plus 'curry' is such an umbrella terms with so many dishes...there is room for Japanese style curry in India as well.
Always been a Foodie.. But the restaurant is thousand miles away.... I am gonna just check out the pictures for now or go to the Japanese restaurant in my town..
As a Chinese person, this is nothing unusual. Not just one dish but there are Korean Chinese cuisine, Japanese Chinese cuisine, Malaysian/Indonesian/Singaporean Chinese cuisine, American and south American Chinese cuisine. I love all of them and you can find many of these restaurants in China. For example there are Japanese ramen place in China everywhere.
idk about Indians since I’m not one but Coco Ichibanya is one of my favorite Japanese curry restaurants. Whenever I go outside, to the mall, etc. I always try to find the nearest Coco Ichibanya, thankfully it’s everywhere here, even in small food court. Their curry, glaze and toppings are the best 🤤💗 sweet, spicy, and savory. If you find one near you, try it sometimes!
Here's a very in-a-nutshell history of how it happened: British visit India. British bring back curry spices. British invent curry powder. Japan explorer on British ship finds British curry powder. Japan explorer brings the curry powder back to Japan. Japan is fascinated by curry powder. Japan comes up with their own curry dish. Japanese curry.
why not just because some of the locals dont eat beef the people in indian do still sell it. india is not like other closed minded religons that ban something just because the locals dont eat it

Lol yes
But people still eat
You have to remember that someone invented hamburger meat between 2 donuts. Lol. Anything is possible.
No it doesn't, I'm an Indian I would love to try it because it's JAPANESE CURRY not a Japanese version of Indian curry
Yeaaah
It's in Gurugram, Haryana . Saving someone the Google search .

Ahh remember going to that place in shinjuku amazing flavors ☺️
Wouldnt work in south india. Sweet curry is not a thing, it needs to be spicy.
Ichibanya is actually also has spicy option. For your info.

COCO ICHIBANYA IS THE BEST CURRY IN THE WORLD! Please open more locations in the US! 😭
Whoa slow down there, it’s tasty but it’s not the best curry. India, Thailand, Malaysia and indonesia are front runners for that
Lol so you haven't taste the real curry yet
Japan actually has some of the most delicious food in the world. The way they make the food delicious is by continuous research.

Thousands of curry that taste the same, but you don't have Japanese curry
the real question is do you have "japanese curry"?
I'm sure you haven't tried Japanese curry. It's very different

Is it the same as Japanese people are surprised to see foreign sushi? I wonder if Indians find it delicious. ..

Is India also going to have their own take on the Japanese curry??
I prefer Japanese curry, it's milder and has a gravy-like consistency
Will indian tastebuds like japanese flavours?
can't say
well some Indians like me are still not used to spicy so i don't know if they fit for the taste buds
I don’t think the Indians will call this dish curry...they would probably refer to it as a strange gravy sauce dish.
no one uses the term curry in india
