    I’ve had it for about nine months now. I’ve been to a podiatrist and he recommended inserts and stability shoes. I also received a shot of cortisone. I work in the grocery industry and I’m on my feet for 10 to 11 hours a day. I’ve tried Hoka and New balance stability shoes. Nothing works and it’s very frustrating.

    Greg, I used to have Plantar Fasciitis and I had to see a podiatrist because it felt like I was walking on broken glass and the pain was excruciating!The doctor recommended power step pro tech insoles and the cause is supposed to be caused by tightness in the calf muscles that thread through the calcanus causing micro tears in the plantar fascia webbing on the bottom of the foot. I also suffered from perineal tendinitis that stems on the side of the foot. I had to change my shoes for work and casual using the orthotics and I used a massage roller like a rolling pin from Thera -band and a foot roller from Thera-band because that was the one They have at therapy and stretching for calfs every day with plenty of rest and time off your feet so that your feet could heal. I would also (Dr. recommend)to freeze a bottle water and use it as a foot roller. I hope this helps you and I wish you a speedy recovery!

      I have that same thing on the right side of my right foot. Can cause a slight burning sensation sometimes. I appreciate your suggestions here.

    I would like to suggest something very different from my own experience. I am 54 and have been battling with high blood pressure over the last 5-6 years. The reason I am mentioning this is because in the process I ended up doing a lot of research about how our body works. And that’s because I came to a realization that doctors either don’t know anything other than loading us up with pills, or don’t want us to stay naturally healthy due to conflict of interests or something. So if we want to stay healthy without meds, we have to do it on our own. One of the key things I learned from my research is that a lot of our chronic health problems come from food that we eat, especially sugars and carbs. And that includes high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, etc. There are a lot of videos on YT from people healing their arthritis and other chronic joint problems with low carb and carnivore diets. I haven’t tried carnivore diet myself but certainly saw a huge improvement in my blood pressure and joint pains as soon as I started eating low carbs. Interestingly, due to holidays I have been eating much more carbs during last few days and today was feeling joint soreness all over my body, like I’ve been lifting weights all day yesterday, which I didn’t. Feels like I am 10 years older suddenly. But when I am eating low carbs, I feel 15 years younger, much more energy, and never get sore mussels from workout even though I workout every day. Can’t wait these holidays are over and getting back to my regular meals. The bottom line, there is a lot of empirical and scientific evidence that sugars and excess carbs are causing a lot of damage and inflammation in our bodies. I would highly recommend going on low carb, if not carnivore, diet for at least a week or two to see how it feels. You might be pleasantly surprised.

      @@GregBoswell428Yes, that seems to be the case. Although I think it is more important to figure which food might be causing inflammation in your body than blindly follow any diet. In my case, for example, I found that dairy was causing big spikes in my blood pressure. Which is very surprising because nobody considers dairy as a potential culprit for high blood pressure. I always loved dairy products and considered daily consumption of plain Greek yogurt and cottage cheese as my main protein sources. But after eliminating sugars, alcohol, coffee and still getting blood pressure spikes, I finally decided to try eliminating dairy. And that did the trick for me. So you just need to figure out what might be causing inflammation in your joints.

    Your symptoms sound exactly like plantar fasciitis. I had this about 6 years ago when I was running as part of my fitness program. I thought I could run through it, so I kept exacerbating it. I had the same excruciating pain when I first got up in the morning as you described. There are braces you can buy that will hold your feet in a stretched position while sleeping, that are supposed to help. I didn’t use these, but I did go to a running store where they scanned my feet and evaluated my gait while both walking and running. The people who work there see people with plantar fasciitis frequently. They provided me with a running shoe that ultimately resolved my problem because it supported my foot in the correct places where I was making the most impact on my feet when walking and running. I’m not sure if you could find a place that can perform a similar evaluation for work boots, but if so, I think that would help. If not, you do a good bit of walking outside of work, it may be helpful to go to a running store to be evaluated for a proper fitting running or cross training shoe.

      @@Adamas11 Mizuno is the shoe brand. I believe the model of the shoe was the Wave. This shoe was recommended for me based on the evaluation the staff performed on me using computerized equipment that evaluated my feet, their pressure points when walking and running as well as an evaluation of my stride while running (some people are heel runners, some are toe runners, etc.) If you are considering buying a running shoe, I suggest being evaluated. The evaluation was free where I bought my running shoes.

    I had plantar fasciitis for almost 2 years. I tried many of the online remedies, and most didn't do much for me. The thing that seemed to help a little bit was to rest my foot on a tennis ball and roll it around under my foot. That didn't feel so good, but it did help stretch out the plantar fascia. What really helped, was first of all losing 70 lb, and then I found online where some people had switched to those shoes that are like walking barefoot. I bought a pair of Merrels, and found that after a few months of wearing those exclusively, the pain started to subside. I don't remember how long it took all together, but I am now pain-free from plantar fasciitis.

      One more major thing that I did that I think really made the difference. I got rid of all sugar. My carbohydrates are no more than 20 g per day. I put sugar in nothing. I eat no processed food.

    I work on concrete in a factory, for 15 years now. May need to replace your boots more often. I’ve never had feet problems but every time I’ve had extreme low back pain, I’ve bought new work shoes and within a few days I’m better. I’ve also switched to a more of a lightweight steel toed shoe instead of heavy boots. They are less expensive and I replace them every 6 months or so, instead of every couple of years for expensive boots.

      Also use a tennis or lacrosse ball and while standing, apply pressure and roll in from heal to toe for 30-60 seconds. Intense but making it a daily habit will probably help. And stretching calves and hamstrings.

    For me, I had this real bad due to wearing dress shoes at my job with no support. Took a year to over come the pain it was causing. This is what I found that worked the best for me. Power step insoles with arch support in all my boots works great for me if you have a HSA account these are covered. Shoes that I have found that work the best for me was New Balance trail shoes, skechers arch support are working good. Gedify were probably the best shoe for a more solid support not spongee feeling. I also tried hoka which worked fine but we're a little spongee. Any thing with good arch support. I also wear wool socks all year.

    The only thing that helped me was getting a really good walking shoe with a wide toe box like Hoka and replacing the insole with a good insert. Also wearing Hoka sandals in the house and never going barefoot on hard floors.

    I slept in a hard brace up to my knee for over a year. I tried every insert. I tried every stretching.. I tried everything I could google. I tried "treading".. tried always wearing shoes and not wearing shoes..tried it all and nothing worked.
    I almost thought I might be having to change careers at one point and I was really struggling.
    Eventually I found Hokas.. Bondis particularly also Challangers.
    I found that even though Hokas are expensive they are nowhere near as expensive as some wild and useless inserts.
    I think this just based on my personal experience Hoaks are the cure.. Bondis specifically.
    No exaggeration here.. they dramatically changed my life.

    First of all, youre 54 WTF. Look great mate.
    Secondly, I had PF for about a month last year, and what helped me was a simple exercise using your household steps.
    So I'd recommend some simple exercises regularly, that you can find online,.

    I started having feet issues 2 yrs ago (57 years old). Thought it was low B12 related per Drs. Now 2 years later still with me and B12 is within range. Also, just found out through blood tests that I’m freakin pre-diabetic. 2 yrs ago diabetes was ruled out. I’m not terribly overweight either. 6’ 1”, 213 lbs. It feels like I’m walking on “pebbles” all the time. Yes, it’s bad in the morning. I’d definitely get some blood tests done to rule out anything. Mine seems chronic and dunno if I’ll have to live with it forever. I still walk a ton even with the issues but gets worse when I’m walking for miles. I’m interested in others feedback on your issues in the comments. My experience has been very frustrating.

    Hi Greg, You need to pull your foot back gently and stretch the top of the foot, That's where the problem is, Stretching the Calf will not work, I tried this method and it work over a period of time. Gary (UK)

    Get some comfortable trainners/shoes with soft gel air sole. Nike air max work best for me and streching doesnt really help but i do it anyway in hope. After football i cant walk for 4 days

    6 weeks I had this for its so painfull ended up taking anti inflammatory tablets. But the ain't thing that helped was deep heat rub stretching and placing a heel insole in my shoes that worked the best but also using a deep heat rub constant
    It wad a long six weeks and it went . It's all trial and error but stretch heat heal isole helped grit your teeth for a bit it does end mate

    I walk a lot and I'm 56. STRETCHING in some very unusual ways helped me get past it and continue without spending any money or any sort of invasive surgery.

    Rest your foot on a tennis ball roll it around. Change out your boots for a more supportive pair. Watch your salt intake. I injured my foot with excessive digging without proper footwear. Losing weight helps.
