Watching this video, seeing how in tune with all the scams that are out there that dwan is, something struck me. When he played the biggest pot in history 3.1 million vs Wesley he didn't let his cards get read on the reader until Wesley went all in on the river, once Wesley went all in he put his cards on the reader to show QQ. Then called.
Tom's on a different level man

Besides her story changing multiple times, another thing that caught my attention was when she asked Garrett "do you want me to call you," you can hear someone say "I'm guessing no." She then calls immediately after that. That's horrible table etiquette and everything about her actions and what she tried saying for why she called is just one lie after another. In my opinion, she made herself look guilty as hell
Poor etiquette yes, but not cheating. You can be impolite, rude, unethical and still not cheat. She still made her own decision ultimately and potentially gathered a live tell from his reaction to the question.
Also, bad players win sometimes... the game is poker. Good players are not entitled to win every bloody hand.
If she had lost both runs outs, nobody would remember this hand... the result clearly clouded over rational judgement. Garrett is clearly just an ego maniac and couldn't handle being beat by an inferior player.
@@onlyweatherlol93 I understand that.. The biggest issue for me was how she couldn't explain the reason for the call. She changed her story several times. But i know they investigated everything about this issue and concluded there was no wrong doing, so I'll trust their word on that
@byrontaft2018 Maybe she is just a bad player and made a sub-optimal decision? There are loads of bad players who win hands and can't rationally explain their choices. However, it is one player per hand, and they are free to play as they wish. The game of poker does not require them to justify everything they do.
Asking if he wants her to call is not bad etiquette, it's common place and digging for a reaction , just what pros do all the time.@@onlyweatherlol93
There’s no indisputable evidence that she cheated but there’s a ton of coincidental evidence that points towards it that it goes beyond suspicious. I’m tired of people saying she just made a bad call. That goes way beyond a bad play. Who calls a shove with jack high? She doesn’t even have a bluff catcher.
HCL already terminated Bryan, who gave the signal to Robbi/Rip, and they cannot make him talk to them now and have no legal means to do so. Rui definitely cheating.
Never underestimate the other guys greed.
1 year later; They blamed Garrett, and she suddenly disappeared into small cash games.
The same day she allegedly cheated; an employee 'stole' a chip of hers, many think it was his payment for signaling her. HCL says "No cheating."
Imagine if they had the foresight to realize that if they revealed the truth instead of downplaying it; they'd get more support from their fanbase. As it is; i don't think anyone trusts them; and now Luda is suddenly getting massaged up into a win streak if you know what I'm saying.
Imagine how long this could of been going on with a good player.
Joey turning into a little kid at a fire listening to scary stories at camp as durrrr starts talking more
Don’t play around in Macau casino. 100 little dudes with machete can be assembled in 5 minutes
One thing I can say is never underestimate how nonsensical a fish can play. This hand brings to mind a spot where I was called by a guy with bottom pair on an ace-high board. I triple barreled and got called for stacks on the River. His explanation was “I thought you had a weak ace”.
Probably a dumb play on my part against a total drooled station, but it just goes to show you that it really isn’t that suspicious her changing her story. Serious fish really have no coherent thoughts going on in their heads.
Very true
She plays a lot though, she’s not a fish
@@rolandtomassi3486 lol have you ever been to a poker room?
@@rolandtomassi3486
She is a fish definitely
@@rolandtomassi3486 She is a woman though
You don't have to memorize the truth it just flows , that's why Robbi goes on the softest podcast to talk over anyone asking her questions so she can get angry change the topic and say they are attacking her and she a woman, instead on being relaxed and confident because she knows she's innocent, strange.
Being aggressive and defensive about your innocence is also a sign of being innocent. It’s not as black and white as you think.
The problem is that you can't prove a negative - which means you can't prove she didn't cheat. You can only prove a positive - which means you can prove she did cheat. Proving she did cheat would require evidence. But, if you think she didn't cheat, you can only speculate, no evidence can come to light that proves she didn't cheat. Where evidence could come to light, if she did cheat, that proves she cheated. So, we're stuck with that conundrum.
A caveat is that people lie. So, any evidence would have to be objective. If you think she didn't cheat, you have no objective evidence and that evidence is not coming. If you think she did cheat, there is no evidence "YET", that evidence has not yet been found, it may or may not exist.
The time for a way to know for sure has passed. They should have isolated her immediately after the fact and had a trusted female or two go into a room with her and had her disrobe and her clothes and body searched. I realize there's problems with that ... but it "was" the only way.
and Occam's razor
Not sure if you're a player, but here's the interesting part...
Even IF she KNEW Garrett's cards, you DON'T call; She was 47% to his 53%. Not like she had him crushed.
Do people actually think the dealer was in on it w a stacked deck?? lol
@@delg1211 may be she only knew ahead/behind. And her and her accomplice were too novice to realize this might not be the right time. I wouldn't assume she knew his exact holding if she did cheat. But it looks like she didn't cheat to me after watching her on Ingrams podcast. Still, there's no way to tell for sure.
@@32266ms You wrote, “may be she only knew ahead/behind”, yup, maybe that’s all she knew, then she would have known she’s behind :)
I agree, all we can do is speculate, which is why I believe the biggest tell (and explanation to it all) is her reaction when she turns Her cards over.
Looong story you may hv seen explained already by longtime players that explains all the misunderstandings (like ppl who think she was reading and not just “staring” at her hand 🤦🏻).
And the logical conclusion is that she didn’t cheat, she just misread her hand.
(Which ties with one of her quick honest answers in the moment, “i put you on Ace high”. You don’t call A high with J high, she thought she had a 3 (which was prob stuck in her head from Previous hand where she did) So when she turned over a 4 she was SHOCKED
@@delg1211 Bro, if she didn't know his cards, how would she know she's behind? Schmuck in the back room could see she's ahead ... he doesn't care about percentages - Jack high is good - he sees dollar signs in commission - signal her she's currently ahead. I'm not saying that's what happened but at least it includes logic.
And I don't think she was shocked when she saw no 3. I think she was trying to figure out what happened. She knew she didn't have a 3 - she checked her cards many times.
But it does look like "to me" that she did NOT cheat. She's just inexperienced and went with her gut.
If I had the chance to meet any player I would choose Dwan just for the stories...
So after the ‘great forensic Joeys ‘ investigation… what did you come up with ??? Anything ?

Total mumbo jumbo speculation, by innuendo he links her to cheating. She lied, so therfore she cheated. She made a dumb poker play, but in poker nothing is 100% predictable . Garrett defamed her by claiming she cheated, the casino found nothing. The guy kept the money.

You know, jungle man never explained that Tom Duan had huge penalties for pushing the games any ended up paying almost double the amount at this moment he’s short 250,000 of 3.4 million
This is only a tough hand for pros to accept. Those of us that play with new players know that they'll call u down with anything if they think you're bluffing. Losing to J high against someone with that mentality is normal. They go by feel rather than working it out methodically. Garrett's image cost him here and he got upset he missed all his outs. Simple as that
That’s very true. I’ve had guys call me down with no hand and a 1% draw expecting to lose. But they still call. They simply don’t have the discipline to fold
You have no clue what you are saying. This isn’t your average 1/2 or 2/5 game. That was a 250k pot and calling all of that with j4 is borderline outrageous, pros or not.. she also says she had him on Ace high and calls him with jack high? Something just isn’t right.
@@jad3224 can't believe anything u hear on the poker table. So it really doesn't matter what she said. I think it was a legitimate call done by a relatively new player to the game. Or atleast someone who doesnt rely on the maths as much as most pros do.

i wonder what tom could have become had he not had a lot of beginners luck when he first discovered poker. instead he became a shadow, a husk, a shell of a person who aged 20 years in ten years after spending so much time in shady situations with shady people, chasing the dollar . perhaps he has lived a somewhat rich life due to this, but a good life? a stressful life for sure and an unfulfilling life. it is a lie that money won is twice as sweet as money earned. the more accurate gambling truism is that it's a hard way to make an easy living.

There was some shady stuff going on at a small casino here in ONTARIO where the staff were in on the shite. I never said anything, but it was so how do i say, extreme to the point of not caring if someone spoke up. That it was better to just pay attention to who was dealing when certain individuals were at tables. Ive been playing for over 40 years and i know when something is up. You can feel it and you always listen to your guts when they say hild on. Peace 😎 ✌️.
He is not a wordsmith.
This kind of stuff is always going to happen when you’re showing your cards on stream it’s B.S. this is why you should not show your cards to anyone to avoid this stuff from happening so if I ever get on a live stream I’m not signing anything to show my cards and it’s my right to show them or not
Long don't you see Eric in the background signaling her.
I seem to remember Tom making some crazy looking plays in the original episodes of High Stakes Poker.
That had nothing to do with cheating
Exactly, that had to do with game sense. Knowing how to put ultimate icm pressure. Tom dwan would never make such an -EV call. Shoving is a whole different story, when your bluff tells a story on its own (the right steps) pre , on flop and turn river for instance.
Never play a game live where you have to show your cards live EVER.
She made a call based on intuition/emotion cause she was tired of him pushing her around. She knew it looked dumb, so to save face amongst her peers after the fact, she floundered with all kinds of excuses and rationales.
The thing is, there was no point in calling since his bluffs are better than her value.
Lmao what? None of her excuses or rationale made any sense. That’s not emotion or anything else it’s straight out lying. There isn’t a single high stakes player in the world who would call with J high there. Then she allowed someone to steal money (from just her by the way) until she was pressured into pressing charges. Nothing about any of it makes any sort of sense. She hasn’t been back and has essentially disappeared and that in and of itself is an indictment. These streams want the best players in the world and action but what she did can’t be explained. This wasn’t some 1-2 home game
@@jamesmulrey6061 Uh you got that wrong, most of these are amateurs, they want the best players in the world to come because thats what gets the most views.

Tom never called cheating when he was playing a 7 2 hand against a 7 8 hand and bet for 100's of thousands three times and was called all three times yet never called the guy who was calling him a cheater! As a matter of fact they both laughed together at the fact the guy was calling him even if Tom had of gone all in on the river.

I have no empathy for ppl they do nothing than lei because that's what's poker is all about, telling a lei
so what the f ..are poker player complaining about
I think opinions would be different if they flip their cards over before the rivers. You know....how poker used to be played when there's no more action on the hand. It gains a ton of shock value when they wait to flip after two river cards. If they flip before the river it just looks like a drawing hand shoved all in, and an overcard called. Then people would see that it was pretty much a coin flip with two river cards to come and robbis call wouldn't have had such shock value when she fades all the outs and wins the pot with J high
