Repent and trust in Jesus. He's the only way. We deserve Hell because we've sinned. Lied, lusted stolen, etc. But God sent his son to die on the cross and rise out of the grave. We can receive forgiveness from Jesus. Repent and put your trust in him.

Sounds great for a cylinder phonograph, others I've heard all sound tinny, nasty and shrill.

Okay, now I understand the significance of this particular machine, and why Rene Rondeu set up and Opera serial number list. On the Antique Phonograph Society’s forum.

It appears the cylinder needs to be reamed so it will fit on the cylinder mandrel. I found a lot of my cylinder collection needed reaming.

Yes, I still have some Opera oil caps available. Are you missing all 5 oil caps on both Operas? Dyslexicgeniushurt@gmail.com

For such a high end instrument, I'm surprised it doesn't play both 2 and 4 minute cylinders. Absolutely stunning, though.

It was introduced when blue amberols came out. The Amberola A-1 plays 2 and 4 minute.

Two thumbs up for a great Opera presentation! I also have an oak Opera. Many Operas have lids that came from Triumphs with a hole drilled through for the horn. Mine had a very amateur refinish job for the case and the motor board, so I had it professionally redone. It was refinished in a dark oak finish and the motor board was superbly done. It's my favorite cylinder machine. Is yours missing the little rubber tip that went on the tip of the shut off arm? Mine fell off, so I made another from a piece of leather brake pad. Marc.

Long thin needles are often “soft-tone” and the ones I buy on eBay are “loud tone”
