@@supahliftah7934the everlong vibe comes from the low C note. The guitar is tuned to drop c which is a step lower than everlong but that song similarly relies on the bottom note and the "drop" tuning sound *Correction it isnt drop C but the top strings are tuned open like a drop tuning
i can't believe how much nostalgia and catharsis i feel from less than a minute of your guitar playing. and that vocalization at the end was perfect. i felt this in my soul. you've really tapped into something here. thank you.
when i use new strings i let it sit at standard E and then tune to whatever i want, it helps the strings properly stretch out, it was a sick riff indeed!
Or you could pre-stretch the strings by pulling slightly on them and retune them. Keep doing it until they don’t go out of tune anymore. It only takes an extra 5 minutes after sting changes. Makes all the difference. :)

You're actually a whole step down from DADF#BE (you're normally in D standard right?) Anyway for anyone who wants it: opening lick is 0-x-2 on GBE strings (octave on the root of the iii minor) followed by x-2-0 on BE strings (minor 7 shell voicing on the iii minor). then the cool part is (from what I can tell) x-2-0-0-2-0 *on all strings* with the following climb up and down *on the A string*: 2224520 (outlining root and minor 3rd of the vi) and then down to 0-0-0-0-2-0 (on all strings, this is a Cmaj7) Then there's the 2-2-2 barre after that which is just a vi minor again (but in 2nd inversion)

Super angsty songs like this are my absolutely favorite. I feel like vocals in the style of La Dispute or mewithoutYou would work really well.

That's what I do too, 10-52, tune to E Standard, leave overnight and tune to drop c when I pick it up the next day. When I'm not impatient that is.
