@Carlo Servin there are many things wrong with this. I'd reply on your video but comments are turned off so I have to do it here.
None of the timers in that video are accurate haha. All 4 of them are wrong. The ones in my video, Niftski's, and I assume yours are all manually controlled. That means you can't just look at the frame mario touches the flag, you have to also know what frame the timer started on as well. For mine and Niftski's we use a delay on the timer so it probably comes out pretty close, but it's not going to be perfect. Can't say for yours since I don't know how you went about it, but you mentioned "stopping it late" so it sounds like you were doing it manually, and with less experience, so there's probably quite a bit of error in there.
For the timer in this NRG video, showing PointCrow's time, it's a frame based timer. Notice that it only counts to 60 before wrapping to 0 again, not to 99. That means 18:54 is not 18.54 seconds, it is 18 seconds and 54 frames. In other words, PointCrow's time is actually about 18.9 seconds.
Another thing to note is that in Niftski's vid and mine, we do flagpole glitch. You waste several frames in order to do a very precise trick that makes the flag not come down. That means we grab the flag later, but get to the castle earlier. If we wanted to just get the fastest time to the flag we wouldn't be doing this trick, and we'd easily be getting 370 on the clock instead of 369. Speaking of the in game timer, you easily should be able to look at it and know that your run and pointcrows are not faster than ours. Pointcrow gets a 368 with a low 378 underground exit. He's a solid 2 game seconds behind optimal, or somewhere around 3/4th's of a second. Same thing in your video, you get 368 so it's clearly not faster than 369.
Your video is played on the PAL version, which normally runs at 50hz, but is running at 60 hz. So you're basically playing the game at 120% speed. Mario also runs faster on that version so even more time saved. You should be able to tell something is not right based on the sounds the game is making and how fast Mario is moving. Once again you're of course not going to save a full second while getting a slower time on the in game timer, haha.
tl;dr all the timers are wrong, we do flagpole glitch in the full game speedrun so we're not aiming for the fastest time to grab the pole, and you played the game at 120% speed.

Nothing makes me feel older than watching this and remembering that I used to do this on my actual NES when I was younger because there really weren't a lot of other games to play when I was a kid, and we had to figure it out ourselves without internet. Hahahaha. Oh man.
That said, this was a fun watch, the NRG Speedrunning crew is a blast

This is what it’s like to be a speed runner. You pop off for a 2 second time save
Each time you improve your personal best, you get a rush. At first it is easy, but later you have to grind for a while before getting a new pb. Then you start competing on the leader board and beating other people's ranks.
Depends on the game. In SMB a 2 frame improvement is a huge, huge deal. But in Red Ball, the world record regularly gets 2-5 second improvements
in this game , you pop off when you save 1 frame ( 0.0165 seconds)
Now PointCrow just needs to learn flag skip and he's set for 1-1.

I've never speedrun anything before (and yet I watch speedrunners all the time, go figure), but this seemed like something I could do.
47 attempts later, I got a 369. Okay, this is definitely harder than it looks.

On my second attempt I got a 368 and then like 10 attempts later I got the 369. The hardest portion of the 1-1 run I think is probably after the underground because all my runs of 369 left the underground at 379 but I was always losing to the staircase. I cant imagine how hard it is to line up for FPG and get to the flag at 370
i feel like pointcrow doesn’t get enough credit for how good he actually is at mario games for his experience with them! he learns everything SO quickly, and it seems like he really retains it! the only thing he needs is some more time and i’m sure he’ll be an AMAZING mario player

One of my favorite newer channels already - I love this video structure and have seen it in several other videos as well; where you train one another and show the tricks of the trade. It just super interesting and I love how willing these guys are to put themselves outside of their comfort zone and learning new things from one another (in a way where we learn stuff too).

I would love a longer video where you learn a whole game and compete at the end to see who learned the most. I would love this game to be the one.
Kosmic wouldnt be allowed to compete so my money's on Kirbs or Easy. Not saying the PointCrow is bad by any means but Easy is constantly learning different speedruns and Kirbs spends almost all his time(it seems like) playing mario maker so after adjusting to the physics and learning the levels he's set. Also would this be Warpless or Any%?

Any furher would take days of none stop playing.
Definitely enforce rules though like catch/stops only. Nothing to stop you from starting the run at a gym with 19 others ready to slap a 5 star/mega raid and instantly get you from like 2 or 3 to 7 or 8
