To be fair, I don't think those Piranha jump's are actually pixel perfect like the munchers are, especially in SMB1 Style in Maker. I played that level and the only hard jump is the last one and it's just a corner boost. The piranha jumps were pretty easy.
@@tox3889 I’ll have to scroll way back in my played levels, but I think I can find it for you. It is Super Expert. The last key is a tricky if you don’t play those type of levels, all you do is get P Speed from the conveyor and corner boost off the middle to launch you up for last key. The ledge boost lines you up perfectly. In the 1 tile.

I love how abrupt and anticlimactic the video was just because Kirbs is just so unprecedentedly good at the game lmao
I'm not saying he isn't good, I'm saying the levels were extremely easy and bad.

If Kosmic's dev path was in a less obvious position, like if it was positioned over the first coin block, LilKirbs would have run the whole time limit.
I think Kirbs is familiar with CarlSagan42’s Horrible Evil RomHack, which does something similar. Though in that case fhe dev exit is turning off your emulator and walking away.
Kosmic explicitly said that he wants it to be there for Kirbs to have a chance. If this was just about winning and nothing else, they could've just made a sequence of donut blocks that takes more than five minutes to finish.

Its not about whether they are good or bad. Its about the levels being made by someone he likes. Also, Bowser's Big Bean Burrito isn't very good, yet because it was made by popular youtuber, it has many plays.

The best part of this video is that it shows what ""troll"" makers are like, getting all excited for the "gotcha" jump and then the player just has this disappointed look on their face when they have to deal with it.
The moment Kosmic said he was gonna make a dev route I knew it was over
never make a dev route, pointcrow first idea was probably the best: do multiple pick-a-thing wih long ass wait after each pick (or long ass 1-2min run at in the maze)
Kosmic cruel idea would have worked: putting a random hidden block that gives a required power-up

YOOOO WE ACTUALLY GET TO SEE POINTCROWS PERSPECTIVE THIS TIME
Kosmic and PointCrow could win this easily by doing a certain malicious trick. If you force someone to go back into a pipe multiple times until a P-Switch runs out and do that multiple times you should be able to make a level that requires over 5 minutes to clear even with optimal time.
you can also make a 7 minute timer
As much as I don't want to replace Eazy Speezy, it feels like we need a 4th speedrunner.

Should have used the classic "go back and forth in a door while waiting for a P switch timer to run out, while a thwomp that only spawns while the P timer is active tries to kill you". Great time waster. Chain 10 of them together and you have a winner.

Underwater level. At the beginning you’re trapped in a room with only a door. Through the door you’re out at the top of the stage, standing on clouds. You swim to the other side of the map and find one missing cloud that lets you drop one layer, the next layer also filled with clouds, but now you can’t swim at all because doing that would force you up a block and back where you started but you have to go all the way back to the other side of the map again. Repeat this over and over until you eventually free the player to the goal. It’s super easy to make too since you just copy a bunch of clouds and then delete a couple of blocks

I feel like the guys needed another 5 mins or more to make the level. As Kosmic kept saying, it just takes so long to even put down blocks, they had no time to really design anything interesting.

I'm kinda disappointed in Kosmic to be honest. But then 15 minutes is not that long so you have to make some adjustments. If I would make a hot trash 1-1 remake, I would hide the dev exit somewhere else than the beginning. And that would make the level much worse so Kosmic is actually being nice. It's also cool to see inside the minds of speedrunners because Mario Maker levels reflect personality. Loving the Mario Maker content! Keep it going!
just make a mario maker level that has to be completed in almost 500 seconds (or 8 minutes) lol
