I’ve been an Android user for about 10 years. At some point I’ve had an iPhone 5c, it was fine but I didn’t like iOs at that point and ended up selling it (in 2 hours since posting the ad). In 2020 I’ve switched from a Samsung Galaxy S9 to iPhone 11. Then I’ve replaced my now almost useless Galaxy watch active 2 with an Apple Watch 6. People b*tch about Apple’s “planned obsoletance”, while I was never ever able to keep an Android phone for over 2 years. Never. It always ends up being complete cr*p after 2 updates, even if it’s a high-end Android phone when buying. In the meanwhile, my sister’s iPhone 8plus is still working like a charm; a friend’s iPhone XR is still working like new... When I looked at the price of the Galaxy S20, it was even more expensive than the iPhone 11... but I knew I can keep the iPhone for 4-5 years, so for me it’s worth it. I’m sick of needing to upgrade my stupid Android phone, even though I personally would keep it for more or am pleased with the design, screen, etc. Ah, yes, I couldn’t care less about the iPhone11’s “cr*ppy screen”. It’s not OLED, it won’t burn-in and I can’t ever see the pixels during use. Good enough for me. In the next years the lower resolution will mean the hardware needs to push less pixels, practically ensuring good performance and longevity. Apple lowered its prices compared to the competition, so that’s why you see the bump in sales: it’s all the haters that can now afford the iPhone....

Exactly my thoughts. With android flagship, you have to buy them the same year they were released, otherwise the phone you get will look and feel old if you get them a year later or so. Android may have better specs on paper but after 2 years of use, a 4GB ram android will be crawling while a 4GB ram iPhone will be working like it's fresh out of the box.
@@saracasmmd8751 @Sarah Salvan with what you've said i can clearly see you are uneducated and stuck in time when it comes to android. You're saying androids look old after two years when in fact iPhone has had the same notch for more than 3 years now also im 100% sure apple slows down their phones each year my whole family has iPhones they follow and buy them like they're a CULT. Samsung phones have up to 16GB of ram as for the 4GB variants they still run very fine and it definitely won't be "crawling". S8 and S9 for example. Obviously 4GB on iPhones is times better than on android because of their optimisation which has always amazed me even as an android fan.
It's all about marketing and neuromarketing. Product design hasn't changed much, products are becoming and more powerful on the detriment of reliability. Apple's business model is also primarily focused on pushing customers to always buy the latest products. Once warranty expires, you cannot afford to go to Genius Bar unless you wouldn't mind to be lied to and be pushed to buy a brand new item, always making it hard for independent repair shops to do their job (unconventional screws, sticking parts to the motherboard,...etc) It's becoming clear that in today's world, having an apple product feels much more like renting it than really owning it.
yeah "it's all about marketing" that's why everyone has been able to replicate it, easy. no amount of marketing is going to get people to keep buying your product and recommending it to family and friends, for over 30 years. only great products, great service ... and great experience, can do that.
Spotify surpassed them with music thanks to Facebook. Apple is not known for music anymore. You have so many competitors in the music stream busines with Spotify as the biggest.
Even though I'm an iPhone user, I've been using Spotify ever since it came to the states. Moving almost a decade of playlists and recommendations over to Apple Music will be difficult. Plus, the free option hooked me in (I've since been paying). Now, if you bought music through iTunes and never used Spotify, it makes sense to use AM.

As someone that been with Samsung and one plus during college, after joining corporate I am now moving toward apple ecosystem. Time became more valuable so I care more that something work out of the box and make work easier. A few hundred different in price is minuscule.
I never got why people get offended when someone criticizes a brand of products they own. Just doesn't makes sense to me. It's not like getting criticism yourself, you are not the brand itself but they act like they feel attacked on a personal level.
I honestly don’t care about the status it gives, that is just subjective. For me the most important things are the ecosystem and the simplicity. The Macbook and the os is so good that I even prefer it over Windows. You never see the computer trying to sell you something or advertising anything at all. Unlike Windows when you open the menu you immediately see ads and stuff. Or the iPhones, coming from a Galaxy S10+, it was a great transition. I HATED the fact the phone was always sending me advertisements about the new product... it even asked me to buy the same exact phone. Paying for the Apple Tax is a knowing peace of mind that you will have a seem less experience with all products. And not to mention the nice built external quality.
Think might also be because Apple exerts more control? Like I heard it doesn't allow other brands e.g. Intel Core 2 Duo/i5/7 processor stickers, telco/mobile carrier's logos to be stickered/sandblasted on their hardware
Man, you just probably opted in samsung members app that you'd like to get marketing messages. You can turn that off. People are so dumb that they don't even try to learn using a product but they instead they buy a new one for a thousand dollars.
Many things in life are overpriced one way or the other. From the phone u use, the car u drive, the coffee u drink and until the underwear. It’s ok as long as u get a good quality for the money u spend, and as long as the money is yours
there are just the two options iOS and android and iOS only makes up less 15% share, so there are actually far more people on android who would never leave than the other way around.

It just doesn't seem to be worth it to have to learn a whole new system you know? I also have a friend who had been using apple products since her very first smartphone. She also wouldn't wanna switch to android and windows because of the same reason.
I have to say Apple's ecosystem is the best, especially if you use MacBook and iPhone at the same time. you can transfer files seamlessly, and you can even copy paste words in real time throughout these devices.

My windows laptop from 2007nis still well and working, it depends upon how much you spend, spend same what you would do on an apple and you will get similar or even better function on devices but people when switchinh6to android or windows will always choose cheaper devices, just because they are available
Fun fact : apple almost was about to go bankrupt in 80's-90's, at that time bill gates helped Steve jobs by investing money and providing him with the software team to fix it's operating system
I used to like the Apple buying experience. It was simple. There was one iPhone which came in two colors with a couple of different storage options. I walked into a store, made two easy decisions and walked out with a phone. Now Apple provides so many customizations I suffer from the paradox of choice. There are 4 iPhone 12 models. Each one comes in up to 6 different colors. Then each of those comes 3 different storage options. There are so many options that depending on what store I go to they have to mail me the device because they don’t keep that combination in stock. The experience of buying an Apple Watch was even worse for me because after I made the decision of which watch I wanted I had to start the decision process of which watch band I wanted to go with it. Color, material, buckle mechanism, size. I still like Apple products. I just don’t feel the same about buying one anymore.
Apple is an amazing company, but I only own it's stock because I know people will continue buying their products, I don't own a single apple product (yet) and i don't think I'll ever will

you do realise every company gives only marginal upgrades every year by now? Cant you use your phone for 2-3 years to feel the upgrades are worthwhile and save money? (im just saying this applies for any phone company)
I love all these commenters that think Apple users are sheep, when they buy Samsung devices with similar margins, drink Starbucks, buy overpriced cars, furniture, watches and shoes. This is capitalism. Apple is able to charge a premium because there is real benefit it to the product and ecosystem. There is a reason IBM switched over to mac computers AND saved money in the long run.
Their phones are getting cheaper over the years tho, they charged for the same price from the iPhone X (2017) to the newest iPhone 12 Pro (2020) for $999 while adding a bunch of new features, 5G, bigger battery, faster chips, more advance camera and more. Meanwhile all other companies like Samsung skyrocketed their price in recent years for adding new feature. Apple is going to release Iphones with no lightning ports in the near future. It is going to charge wirelessly and they will release adapters and dongles for lightning connectivity. They will tell you it's to make the Iphone more water proof or whatever reason they come up with, but it's to make lots of money selling adapters for a huge profit.
You said Apple manufactured the iPhone 10 for $357.57 and sold it for $999 making it a 64% of profit. Maybe you should take into consideration that they paid the workers, the designers and research engineers. Not to forget marketing such billboard and high production videos for tv ads, taxes, shipment around the world to every Apple store. If you put all that expense into perspective the profit margin won't be more than 30%. Meanwhile Samsung bumped their prices by $150 + in the name of 5G on their flagships.
In the discussion about Apples high profit margins I’m disappointed to see the exclusion of expenses such as research and development, marketing, corporate overhead, tech support services, staffing, etc. To just cite the cost for producing the physical phone and say all the rest is profit does not tell the whole story. CNET usually does better.
Yeah it seems like a lot of people do that. I always hear people freak out that the newest and best iPhone costs $400 to make and the phone itself retails for $1400. They're like "oH, tHeYrE jUsT sO gReEdY!" without taking other costs into consideration
Everyone do Sell for money. But, you have to accept Apple has that most profit from their products. Their products which are already at a premium price costs as close to buying a new one for repairs. Apple care plus is another way they earn profit. Apple prices with the eco system and support does look better in US. But it offers really low value for money or in other words cost way over what it provides and there aren't even official apple stores for repairs, legid offers and support. Sometimes I wonder if Apple even bother or tries to repair our products (idk if it's just the deal with apple official resellers). I bed most of the people who own apple will think twice before buying if it costs ridiculous with the extra taxes we pay.

I always hear about how people who use android love the customizability of the platform, but every single person I’ve ever seen with an android phone is using the stock skin that whatever manufacturer put on it. 99% of the time people are just gonna use the phone how it comes out of the box, and that’s why the iPhone is so popular in areas where people can easily afford it.
That woman was the most stereotypical “what Android users think iPhone users look like” person I have ever seen and it’s just so stupid for a serious news agency to pick someone like that.
I’m not saying she isn’t representative of some apple users but I think it’s stupid for them to get Radom people from both sides to represent the hole costumerbase
Apple called them "budget iphone" with the price of premium lol. They can make it OLED with same price but decided not to do so, so they can make more money, and apple sheepfan still gonna buy it. They already make Iphone X and XS with OLED in their based price, but not anymore. What on earth they still use LCD lmao. And remove the charger too, without price drop. By doing so, they can safe TONS of money because they now can ship their iphone TWICE amount than before in a shipment, since 2 box size now equivalent to 1 box size back then.
Google's ecosystem is arguably much better than Apple's. I used Apple's products for a short time and felt limited and as if I traveled back in time. Apple products are good for the average consumer who really doesn't know what they want in technology so long as the product remains 'popular'.
They havent revolutinzed the market. But thats what they want you to believe. When you say that it just means their marketing strategy works. They got you hooked. Thats what they want of course.😊 they want to own and control you. I had iphone but I use Android now. But I have Apple stock because I like Apples customer and the way they overspend😘 And when young People say that they cant change because they are too old to change its just not True. They are just hooked or sucked in to the system. Takes maybe 2 hours to change and get used to a new system. Both iPhone and Android are so easy to use.
The phones processors were being throttle down because the batteries were aging. The alternative was the phone not working at all. The mistake was not disclosing there was this aging battery phenomenon. People hang on to iPhones for years unlike Samsung that barely offers 2 years of software support.
No, apple is good at making products, sure, but why get obsessed with a company, getting products you don’t like just because you get cornered into the ecosystem from their products that you do like? I’m used to using iPhones and iPads, but I hate the macOS and prefer windows. Also, spotify is 10x better than apple music (there’s actually a free version). So I don’t know why these people think that if you have an apple product you HAVE to put yourself in a corner where you’re forced to buy anything they make. It just makes no sense. Just had to get that out of my system.

I can take or leave the phone. I like Samsung’s better now. But the watch, airpods integration, and the simplicity of iOS keeps me around.

Exactly what I was thinking.
"No company will live up to the hype of Apple...not in this world."
Enter: Tesla
357$ is the hardware cost. Also consider the software development cost and infrastructure cost.
And marketing and operation costs.
The Android guy sounds jaded. And I own Android
His arguments for android was pretty weak. I’m an Apple person, but he had the weakest argument against Apple I have seen by far.
They havent revolutinzed the market. But thats what they want you to believe. When you say that it just means their marketing strategy works. They got you hooked. Thats what they want of course.😊 they want to own and control you.
I had iphone but I use Android now. But I have Apple stock because I like Apples customer and the way they overspend😘
And when young People say that they cant change because they are too old to change its just not True. They are just hooked or sucked in to the system. Takes maybe 2 hours to change and get used to a new system. Both iPhone and Android are so easy to use.
Everyone: I own Apple stock, not their products.
I'm so proud of the CNBC crowd. I feel heard.
The phones processors were being throttle down because the batteries were aging. The alternative was the phone not working at all. The mistake was not disclosing there was this aging battery phenomenon. People hang on to iPhones for years unlike Samsung that barely offers 2 years of software support.
13:30 - elon musk is still alive, you better be living in a different world 😂😂 #tesla #spacex
I was searching for this comment :D
No, apple is good at making products, sure, but why get obsessed with a company, getting products you don’t like just because you get cornered into the ecosystem from their products that you do like? I’m used to using iPhones and iPads, but I hate the macOS and prefer windows. Also, spotify is 10x better than apple music (there’s actually a free version). So I don’t know why these people think that if you have an apple product you HAVE to put yourself in a corner where you’re forced to buy anything they make. It just makes no sense. Just had to get that out of my system.
I love Apple products, beautiful, easy to use, last a long time (relatively)
what I don't like are the hoops you have to jump through and the the things that made me realize that we are the Empire and not the Rebels LOL
Apple in. 3 words
Minimalist
Design
And ecosystem
Emma has huge cannons
