01/26/25 Lego celebrates the Chinese New Year with an epic parade

This week is the Chinese Lunar New Year Festival and to celebrate I built the Lego Lunar New Year Parade set. This set was actually from a couple years ago when it was the Year of the Rabbit and so features a lot of rabbit iconography. We are actually going into the Year of the Snake. However, all 12 animals in the cycle are important to Chinese culture so I felt the parade set was still relevant as are all the Chinese New Year sets. The three parade floats feature a beautiful rabbit, a band of musicians on a beautiful mobile stage with a giant traditional drum, and a tribute to Classic Lego featuring the Legoland Dragon. The set also features 18 minifigures, which is more than a Lego CMF series! There are 12 performers and 6 spectators included. There are also a lot of really cool details including two of the performers carrying beautiful banners as well as lots of detail on the actual parade floats, all three of which were substantial and fun builds.
