As an owner of Xperia 1 III and 1 V, image quality (focus + clarity + dynamic range adjustment) was a low point of this cameras compared with competition (that I also own). As a SONY fan from Walkman era, if the same issues are still in the 1 VI, I will put the lock on the purchase for good. Fooled me twice because I am a fan, shame on me.....
Xperia is a product for people who can understand manual photography not a point and shoot like the "competition"

Getting rid of the 21:9 aspect ratio and binning the 4K display is a massive no no for me. I'll stick with the mark V, as I can use this as a Sony Alpha camera viewer as well. Surely you're losing a hell of a lot going back down to 1080? The only marginal gains on this version is the increased zoom and probably a slightly newer AI detection model. Not worth the upgrade if you ask me.
Where is the 21/9 4K screen ??? 😒
It was your Best feature and now your biggest regression ever from Xperia. It has no sense to do this. We lost many things with this...
I will never buy Xperia expect if they get this screen back. I ll stay on Xperia 1 V and maybe get again Xperia 1 III because it was a wonderful Xperia With notification LED and an advanced alwaysOnDisolay.

Starting to hate MKBHD, because of his stupid opinion Sony ditched 4k. What he wanted in Xperia 1 v was already present in Xperia 5 mark 5.
4k and aspect ratio was was nice. Sony shouldn't listen to MKBHD, Xperia 1 mark 5 is already perfect.
Despite everything, Xperia 1 mark 6 seems a great device , arigato Sony ❤
indeed, I would have liked it if they kept everything the same but making the display ltpo and making the sensors for the cameras larger because I still think it isn't quite as good as their own other sensors like the lyt-900 in my xiaomi and the huge telephoto in the new vivo x100 ultra.
I have the 1 IV and it's rare that the 21:9 screen is useful. Most of the time it's awkward to use the top part of the screen. As for this new one, seems to me that 19:5 or whatever isn't the best for 21:9 or 16:9 content.
I hope you own Sony smartphones and also nudge others to buy a Sony smartphone. Because all this waffling in YT comments doesn't reflect Sony's sale figures. Just saying...I hope you buy Sony phones and will buy until they exist.
