Oasis was the only headliner for that concert -- i.e., it was THEIR concert, not a festival or a split headline or anything. They did have a couple opening acts, but every soul inside Wembley was there to see Oasis.

That 2nd night at Wembley in 2000 went out on telly on Sky 1 and everyone I knew watched it 😂😂😂 Liam was smashed out of his face and it came out in the news he was out all night the night before with a Spice Girl 😂😂😂 amazing times ❤️ why don’t popstars do this anymore - nowadays it’s absolute sh*t compared to how it was 😎👌🎶❤️

It's language. In the UK, a music concert is a gig, to see show usually means to go to the theatre, like west end or Broadway etc.
Oasis was one of the greatest bands of all time. The music, the songs but it was their "we don't give a fuck" attitude that was the cherry on top.
Happy Mondays and Doves supported Oasis this night. That ending is hilarious!
Two things that struck me at my first Oasis gig:-
1. The aura of Liam just stood on the stage, motionless being just fucking biblical.
2. Lots of piss
Liam was very drunk this night and even more so the next day where he was the most drunk he ever was onstage!

I was at this gig and from what I can remember Happy Mondays supported.
You couldn’t hear Liam singing (I was right in the middle) because the whole crowd was singing every word to every song.

Worth reacting to this song when they did it on Top of the Pops. TOTP was a hugely popular pop music show over here but they mostly made everyone mime on it, so as Liam's vocals were being pumped out of the speakers for Roll With It, Noel was on stage miming it with Liam pretending to play guitar.

fucking hell I aint watched vids from Wembley for years.... I was there and it was crazy..... 21 years ago that feels like yesterday, went to the gig at the new Wembley stadium as well with kasabian supporting, it was good but nothing like this one, just standing on the pitch at the old Wembley stadium gave you enough chills alone

Doves and Happy Mondays were the support bands ...the gates opened at 4pm and people had been queing outside from 9am. We were in it.
I saw them on this tour and Happy Mondays supported. They were another Manchester band and although not as huge as Oasis, they partied just as hard.

I was there that night, unbelievable night. One of the support acts were the happy mondays (also brilliant) cant remember the other one.
I belive it was the Happy Mondays and the Doves that opened for oasis that night. Also getting hit by a cold beer at an oasis gig is pretty normal when you get hit with a warm one it is not so great. Also.check out the Knebworth gigs of you want to see a vast sea of people.

Oasis played two shows at Wembley in 2000 one show Liam was great the other he is hammered drunk doing all sorts of crazy things.
you wouldn't believe how hard it was to get tickets to oasis gigs back then, i managed to go to a few wembley arena twice, wembley stadium, milton keynes bowl, earls court (the verve was the support act, finsbury park in the mosh pit and absolutely soaked in beer. also seen noel at wembley arena union chapel ( only 500 people at that gig), and the royal albert hall 3 times

I was at this "gig" Happy Mondays and The Doves supported. Both also Manchester bands and good friends of Oasis. Liam was drinking heavily with Shaun Ryder singer of the Happy Mondays.

I was at this gig. I was 17. What a great day it was. It was damn rough down there near the front though lol. I can remember barely being able to keep my feet on the ground.
In the gig at the arena in Coventry it was constant and it was not beer guys. That was one of their last gigs.

In British live music culture throwing “beer” around when shit gets crazy is a staple and just part of the experience. I put “beer” in quotations because 9 times out of 10 it’s piss that’s being thrown - people just piss in their beer cups as trying to navigate through the crowds to get to the toilets just isn’t feasible 🍺😎

I went to the gig the previous weekend, the Mondays were great but Shaun threw up on stage part way through .
The Famous Oasis V Blur Song that was released on the same day as Blurs Country House.
It was a Media Storm frenzy who would get to number 1. Blur came out top with Country house and a great song to react too the Video is awesome.
I've never seen anything like ot in pop history it caused uproar between the North of England and the South.
It wasn't long after Blur had Cleaned up at the Brit Awards but eventually Damon Albarn started other Project's like With the Gorliaz and Blur faded early 2000s and Oasis carried on for another good 10 years

Wembley stadium is a big gig for any band but it's not really about the numbers. It's Wembley Stadium, Led Zepplin played there, the who played there, the stones, genesis, pink floyd, its a prestige gig but it is huge. Oasis played three gigs at Knebworth which were if I remember correctly 250,000 people. three-quarters of a million people saw them play in three nights. A friend of mine at the time went to two of the nights and said they were epic. At the time that was the biggest gig ever anywhere on the planet. Not sure if the record still stands.

Oasis didn't crack the US because Liam and Noel had a big bust up and came home. They fought like dogs.
Liam likes to sing “Don’t let any FUCKER get in your way”, while the actual lyric is “any BODY”. I think he was roasting Noel for finally singing it his way.
Mate I saw oasis 3 times, beady eye twice and Liam solo 3 times and one thing you can guarantee at all of em is people constantly throwing plastics cups of beer. Suppose it’s an English thing, let’s go mental and sling our ale about. Theres always been a bit of the football lads, sniffing coke and getting rowdy element that follows Liam.

You should watch vids of Donington Monsters of Rock from back in the day, there was a fine old tradition of filling up bottles with piss and then launching them! Us Brits are an odd bunch!
