This is an awesome interview James, well done!
I struggle to recall Brodie ever really doing any in depth interviews in his career . Crazy considering hes one of the greatest rugby players of all time.
Cudos to you for creating the ultimate platform for it.
He sounds pretty certain that he wont play in Black again but it also sounds like he has got a few miles left in that tank.
its only short hop across the ditch in 2027.
    Dont let him go white-baiting.

Thanks mate, yea I couldn't find one with him so glad to get him on! Yea I was surprised how sure he was about no more Chiefs or All Blacks but Hawkes Bay sound like they'll benefit!

Brodie's story is case in point as to the value of the NPC to NZR; and the dangers on relying on talent scouting straight out of high school into only 5 club academies. The Crusaders didn't have a spot for him, if the NPC didn't exist, he wouldn't have gone up to the Magpies and got his start, which turned into 100 SR games, and 100 ABs games.

How good would it be to see the big man back out there in the black and white hoops! 2 games in 12 years he had someone told me

@@whataladpodcast Quite right. I'm pretty sure that in an interview Retallick gave that as a reason for his move north.

O'Mahoney did his sh1t talking during game time, just like the sledging champs McCaw and Fitzpatrick used to do. But there was honour when the whistle was blown. Retallick and Ioane let the black Jersey down. Ioane gesturing at Irish fans after the final whistle particularly crass. I dont remember the great all black teams of old being that arrogant and lacking in honour.
