    Thanks for the info! I live in central TX (pretty close to SpaceX...lol) and was able to get the deal price by zooming into AZ as shown. I didn't have to enter a local AZ address...looks like it just uses the GPS coordinates used. Expected delivery is 5-7 days and I will add a comment about setting up to my local address. Sure hope this works!
    Update: Ordered 2 Jun and received 7 Jun. I changed my service address rather easily and there were no issues with the update being accepted....shew! Speed test just prior to install (at 3:30 pm) was 24.8 down and 10.4 up. My evening rates are generally 8 down and under 1 up. Conducted 3 speed tests after setup and the average is 125 down and 20 up. Very happy camper! Thanks for the hack!!...I believe I received a refurbished kit as the dish has a couple of minor, superficial dings. Other than that, looks brand new.

      @@Fire_ems38I think I can help. On my order it used the shipping address to determine the tax amount and not the location of the deal. Besides as long as you pay a tax, I don’t think the irs can complain since they only ask if you purchased something out of state without paying tax. Same goes for making purchases in another state on vacation I would think.

    Tks for the heads up. Love the channel and your website. Learning a lot. . Just ordered the kit from a state which has the $349 deal. As I understand you, once I get the unit, I need to update the service area then? We are going to use it for internet for our stationary RV which will be in a remote area and will be secured using Amazon blink cameras. Oh and a daughter that can’t live without internet. lol

    I just Purchased one for $349 I was on the fence for a long time about buying it. After an RV trip over the Memorial Day weekend with no hot spot service at all my wife and I decided to invest in Starlink. Finding your how to video about the price drop was the reason why we did it. For People using it for Camping or RV use, the upfront cost is the deal breaker. Being able to shut service on and off every month when not using it keeps the yearly cost pretty good in my opinion. When it comes to my "Ship to address" I will simply change the service address to my home address with a Roam plan. Thanks for taking the time to share. I used the State of Virginia to receive the discount and my home state is Georgia.

      Awesome! Glad you got to take advantage of the promotion. I can relate about your RV trip. I was also traveling around South Dakota and Colorado recently, and even though I was staying in places with 5G and LTE, the connection was very slow and unreliable due to everyone else trying to use cellular. I could barely load Google Maps for directions! Luckily, I packed my Gen 3 Roam dish. I was getting 358 Mbps on the side of a mountain in Colorado. It came in very handy. Well worth the investment, and you'll be able to use that dish for years and years to come.

      I just tried. There is no option to select Roaming service plan which is supposed to be $150/m at the time of "ship to address". the website gives fixed service plan at $!20/m which is residential.

      @@johnbravy422 you can switch the service plan from residential plan to roaming plan right at the time of activation? I heard one has to use residential service plan for a least 1 month, or 3 months before switching plan ?

    • @lordericheitz
      @lordericheitz 2 месяца назад

      Agree. That low equipment pricing appears to lock you into residential use for like three or six months. Fine print stuff. Still, you can pick up a new kit for roaming with an immediate $100 discount.

  • @stanburris4900
    @stanburris4900 3 месяца назад +1

    If the reduced price was due to lack of area participation, the monthly cost should be $90 under their new pricing list but it is listed as $120 in both Arizona and Virginia.

    • @StarlinkHardware
      @StarlinkHardware  3 месяца назад +4

      Perhaps this is Starlink's way of testing out hardware discounts vs service price discounts? Maybe they are exploring if reducing the up front cost is more effective than reducing the monthly service cost, to increase participation in high capacity areas.

I didn't know if it was just an opinion of yours or if it was a fact that was proven. Just asking. Thanks in advance for the info. Hope this could help anyone else looking to use it for RV camping...

    • @StarlinkHardware
      @StarlinkHardware  2 месяца назад

      I honestly think their change service plan system is glitchy. Before, you could always just change your plan whenever, even right after you bought the dish. But recently, I've seen more and more reports of there being no "Change Service Plan" option in the account. It takes a full billing cycle to appear. That's why I mentioned that in the video. If you see the option to change to Roam right away, then you can switch at any time, no need to wait.
