- I went to a community garage sale and came across a huge CD collection. It filled up the whole driveway and best of all they were ONE dollar each!!! Here's what I came home with! :)

CD's are the best music format in my opinion. They have fantastic dynamic range and sound quality. Sometimes I get them under $1 each when bundled at flea markets.
I love finding them for cheap! 😌
They’re a very good platform for setting up a media server if you’re that way inclined too.

There's a huge lesson here: CDs are cool and affordable right now. A young person discovering the awesome stuff from the 80s, owning the music, being able to rip it to digital in the future... Nice job, Geraldine!

What a great haul! Anytime I find CDs at garage sales around here they are all scratched and obviously not cared for. To find all those CDs in such good condition is an amazing find!
“Welcome to Wherever You Are” is my sentimental favorite INXS album! ‘Taste It’ is a great track! I hope you enjoy the album!

Early Chili Peppers is pretty underrated, “MM” and “UMPP” are fun listens! The “What Hit’s?!” compilation is a great place to start with that era, even featuring “Under the Bridge”!

Until the end of the world is an awesome movie, it's a long one, but very interesting. The soundtrack has a version of Until the end of the world by U2 that's only on that cd. I was young in the 90s, but it's great how the new generations are discovering the awesome music of that decade.

Love the variety of music Geraldine. Usually that Talking Heads comp comes in a 2 CD jewel case. The Kate bush cd is a greatest hits compilation. 🙂. Freaky Styley and uplift mofo party plan from the 80s are 2 red hit chilli peppers I love.

Hi Geraldine ! Spellbound is on Once Upon A Time by Siouxsie & The Banshees. The Bowie double cd 💿 is awesome 👌! The Mazzy Star is one of my 90's favorites. Excellent finds & the price was incredible. Black Celebration is my favorite Depeche Mode album.

Instinct Blues on that White Stripes cd is amazing. Great opener for a mixtape or Playlist too. Devil's Haircut is quite the track if you want to rock out as well on Beck's Odelay. Though the entire album is fantastic. Good Shit on the Cornershop album is the bomb, and Taste The Pain on the Chili Peppers comp. That Mazzy Star is amazing from start to finish. Into Dust is a standout track that feels quite transient. I really enjoy your posts! 😊😊😊😊

By the way, the INXS album that you just picked up ('Welcome to wherever you are') has one of their greatest songs called 'Not Enough Time', so you hit the nail on the head by picking it up. It is a special joy to follow your musical journey...

Hi Geraldine what a great bunch of CDs you got there, that DM stripped single it’s a gem specially because it has the b-side but not tonight. I would like to know what’s the barcode for that Pearl Jam VS, I’ve never seen before a clear Jewelcase edition of that album!

That happen to me to Geraldine. I got the Talking Heads for $1.00 and I found out it was only disc two! Fortunately, I found disc one a month later. Great CD pick-ups!

Some comments on content.....
You will have detractors that will say the club (BMG, Columbia House) of CDs aren't as good for whatever reason. I don't get it myself.
That INXS CD I believe was one of the earliest ones that opened up that way.
And Pearl Jam Vs is their best album!! Lots of songs get radio play but for my money the best songs are Dissident and Glorified G! Please lmk what you think of those tracks!

Have some of them. That”old” lady maybe wasn’t that old, youth is the eyes of the beholder. One day you might be “that” old lady selling thousands of cd’s to a younger person line yourself. It could be a nice story of human resharing. One ca leave a hidden message inside a CD, kind of a time capsule. Gracias por compartir.
That’s why I love buying preowned and preloved albums! I like knowing they were appreciated before making it to me, and having someone continue to appreciate them! 😊

Wow, you're so lucky to get these for 1 dollar each and they're in perfect condition. I wouldn't be able find any of these albums for under 6-7$ each. (in my country). At least when it comes to official releases...some of them go even up to 25$. And if it were cheaper, that cd would be in disastrous condition

"Black Celebration" and "Welcome To Wherever You Are" are great lesser known albums from awesome bands. I would add "Elemental" from Tears for Fears to that small list of gems.

I think it's just the right time to start collecting CDs.
You can get them for little money or you can even find them on the side of the road
because people just want to get rid of them.
My best thrift (charity shop here in Britain) store cd find, a mint looking copy of ABBA - The Visitors for 50p (64c). It was a first pressing that I resold for £100 ($127 U.S) and that was acceptance of an eBay ‘best offer’ too as I need some funds asap.

Until the End of the World is quite a movie. The runtime is almost 5 hours for the uncut version. Worth checking out! Very unique and beautiful!

cool fact: the Bowie Singles collection came with a bonus cd of his "Little Drummer Boy / Peace on Earth" on the inside.. It was in one of the bigger 3 CD jewel cases.. Probally early pressings of it.

Great CD picks. Until The End of The World is a great soundtrack, but if you're going to see a Wim Wenders film, see Wings of Desire first. There's a really great band playing in a scene of that film. Not going to spoil it though.

This “older“ lady seems pretty hip! I’m guessing she is Gen X. I am surprised she would sell her CDs. I still have my collection and most of the CDs you picked up are already in it. Great haul though. When listening for yourself, do you prefer headphones or speakers I prefer the dynamic separation of headphones, but they have to be quality.
She’s definitely very cool! She was a music therapist 😎 But I guess it depends on the mood, I enjoy listening either way. I usually do headphone listening for when I really want to specifically focus on the music! I’ve been loving my Sennheiser headphones for that! 😌
