Hi, Mr. Fujita, would like to thank you. I loved this way of playing in groups of 4 on the chromatic scale, trying to sustain the sound, listening. I am finding it a way to practice and be very present, attentive to everything and at the same time, attentive to every detail: the duration of the sound, not making noise. Sometimes simple things are that reveal complexity. Thank you so much from Spain, Clara.
Hello Mr. Fujita!! I have been playing the cello for over 7 years, but recently I have been interested in learning guitar. Your video helped me find a good starting point to learn the new format. Thank you so much!! I look forward to all of your videos throughout my journey. 😊😊

Tomo you're funny! I enjoy learning from you. Thank you for your time! Last night I started doing the Chromatic scale (30 day routine) from a different video lesson you did. It was tricky and didn't include as many details including how to switch frets to play down neck. I'd play that video...rewind... play..rewind to see it easier. This here video made broke it down into easier steps. Thank you ❤ 👍. I think I should stop doing those 30 day 1212, 1232...practice (from "3 Great Exercises for Your Practice Routine" video) and do this Beginner Practice routine for a bit. I'll do the "3 Exercises Routines) after getting a bit better.. I don't want to practice without having the basic good form you explain here. I love the blues! 😊
So happy to hear that! You're very welcome! My pleasure! Next video is a lot more details & much more simple! Good job! Did you watch this? I Wish All My Students Knew THESE Before They Came To Berklee ruclips.net/video/xlRy7WwZg7c/видео.html
I’d didn’t really understand the 3 exercise. I kind of got lost a little bit. I’ll give it another watch and try to follow along. Thanks for your video!
Thank you for sharing! Please watch a few more times and please tell me which part was difficult to understand specifically. I would like to know. Thank you so much!
It's amazing that I've watched the triad vid and understand nothing from it .. But this vid make me understand it way deeper, now i know how much of a beginner i am actually 😂
Doing the chromatic scale backwards is harder for me. While going up, my other three stronger fingers give good support. But while moving backwards, my little finger lands first and I need to place remaining fingers using it for support. I'll spend some time practicing just this till i get some strength. I think this exercise will also help me play the A/C# chord better with all the stretching.

A very nice exercise vids thanks. Im learning guitar from piano i can imagine if u go straight to guitar without any previous knowledge of theory its gonna be quite challenging haha
First, I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos! Very helpful! I did have a question. When playing the C scale on each string, it gets kind of difficult on the both E strings and the D strings to play C scale because they’re kind of high on the fretboard. Any recommendations? Thank you again so much!! Your videos are awesome!
You're very welcome! So happy to hear that! First do only C scale on any strings then try to do other keys...but one at time. Never think like this.. "I should do every keys!" That's WAY TOO much just thinking! One more is great enough! You're very welcome!
Can’t believe this first simple exercise is messing me up lol…so use to alternate picking chromatic scale that I have to pay extra attention to down picking, which in turn messes up other aspects ….trying to go slow also makes a lil more difficult too…Need practice exercise that’ll help me get more ( some 😜) finger independence. Will be checking out your 4 practice lessons as they get harder and harder. Hopefully it’ll help.

First of all, thank you Tomo sir for this detailed practice routine. However, I do have a question regarding the 1/2-step chromatic scale exercise: When I am playing back from the 12th fret, do I keep all my fingers pressed down and then pick one after the other? Like when I pick the note my little (4th) finger is on, do the other three fingers remain pressed on their respective frets or are they hanging slightly above the frets? Thank you so much 😊

Hi, When playing the triads are you targeting the root note and then building the inversion shape from there or are you (for example) playing root position SHAPE and then moving up 4 frets to next shape?
All possible way to think. From top...from bottom...from middle and no memorization on shapes. More about ear training! Try to hear each inversions and sing along. No shapes. Sounds first! Triads are fun!

You're very welcome! Very very important technique! Thank you!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank you once again 🙂

Hello Mr. Fujita!! I have been playing the cello for over 7 years, but recently I have been interested in learning guitar. Your video helped me find a good starting point to learn the new format. Thank you so much!! I look forward to all of your videos throughout my journey. 😊😊

I found lots of information about how much to practice, but very little about how to practice. This video is a nice, clear explanation.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you!

It's amazing that I've watched the triad vid and understand nothing from it .. But this vid make me understand it way deeper, now i know how much of a beginner i am actually 😂
I love making triad lessons! So happy to hear that! Thank you so much!
Yes. That's correct so you need to play super slow in that direction. Try not to make any finger / string noises. Good job! Thank you for sharing!
You have my full attention. Thank you. I will have to watch this a few times.

I made a few lessons for my own students.
This is one of them.

Thanks for sharing! Super slow is good! Super simple is good. This way you wont repeat too many times. Less & more focus. I practice slow!

First of all, thank you Tomo sir for this detailed practice routine. However, I do have a question regarding the 1/2-step chromatic scale exercise:
When I am playing back from the 12th fret, do I keep all my fingers pressed down and then pick one after the other? Like when I pick the note my little (4th) finger is on, do the other three fingers remain pressed on their respective frets or are they hanging slightly above the frets?
Thank you so much 😊

C E G on 123 set stings. X X X 5 5 3 = X X X R M3 5 ... learn them slowly without memorizing! That's root position. Then E G C on 123 set strings X X X 9 8 8 = X X X M3 5 R .. That's 1st inversion!
G C E on 123 set strings X X X 12 13 12 That's 2nd inversion. That's all you need to know first! Take your time!
the way you keep your thumb makes my hand hurt a lot in the palm an dthumb what should I do pls recommend

Hi,
When playing the triads are you targeting the root note and then building the inversion shape from there or are you (for example) playing root position SHAPE and then moving up 4 frets to next shape?
All possible way to think. From top...from bottom...from middle and no memorization on shapes. More about ear training! Try to hear each inversions and sing along. No shapes. Sounds first! Triads are fun!
