I’m 32 years old and spent the past 10 years putting everything aside to get ahead in my career, which really put a huge strain on my mental health. This past year I mentally disconnected from everything and everyone because I was so exhausted.
I bought a guitar 3 weeks ago, and it has really helped recover.
The first place I went to learn was RUclips, and felt overwhelmed with all the strange advice, that I decided to try on my own. You are the first person I see to give solid advice that actually helps.
    Thank you!

I'm 32 years old, who mainly played trumpet and piano since 7 yrs old, but I have always wanted to learn guitar since I was 10 years old. Playing an instrument, to me, is the best way to feel better overall. At 20, I've had to put it all on hold to care for others and ultimately compromise my mental health. Especially since the passing of my Mother in Jan. 2021.
I'm in a better space now where I'm putting myself first, and one way is purchasing a guitar and amp tomorrow.
This is literally the best timing ever to discover this video for my journey!

Hi, Mr. Fujita, would like to thank you. I loved this way of playing in groups of 4 on the chromatic scale, trying to sustain the sound, listening. I am finding it a way to practice and be very present, attentive to everything and at the same time, attentive to every detail: the duration of the sound, not making noise. Sometimes simple things are that reveal complexity. Thank you so much from Spain, Clara.

Tomo you're funny! I enjoy learning from you. Thank you for your time! Last night I started doing the Chromatic scale (30 day routine) from a different video lesson you did.
It was tricky and didn't include as many details including how to switch frets to play down neck.
I'd play that video...rewind... play..rewind to see it easier. This here video made broke it down into easier steps. Thank you ❤ 👍.
I think I should stop doing those 30 day 1212, 1232...practice (from "3 Great Exercises for Your Practice Routine" video) and do this Beginner Practice routine for a bit.
I'll do the "3 Exercises Routines) after getting a bit better..

Doing the chromatic scale backwards is harder for me. While going up, my other three stronger fingers give good support. But while moving backwards, my little finger lands first and I need to place remaining fingers using it for support.
I'll spend some time practicing just this till i get some strength.
I think this exercise will also help me play the A/C# chord better with all the stretching.

First of all, thank you Tomo sir for this detailed practice routine. However, I do have a question regarding the 1/2-step chromatic scale exercise:
When I am playing back from the 12th fret, do I keep all my fingers pressed down and then pick one after the other? Like when I pick the note my little (4th) finger is on, do the other three fingers remain pressed on their respective frets or are they hanging slightly above the frets?
