Boeing made a massive mistake scrapping the 757 tooling and flogging on the dead horse of the 737. The 757 was the perfect platform for future development ie: Higher ground clearance for next gen engines etc and it is a really nice looking plane.
Not really. The 757 wasn't selling anymore. Those who needed it had it. As much as I love the 757, I agree Boeing left the line open long enough but had to close it eventually when the orders dried up. Of course, sods law had it that only a few years later, the 757 went through a renaissance and was suddenly in hot demand and airlines clambering for all they could get. The 737 has been far from a dead horse, having sold many, many more time the frames the 757 sold, even when both were on offer.
This is up for debate. Jet2 buff them down them down showing the shiny metallic (which is somewhat frowned upon in the industry) unlike may operators who have the standard factory finish. The downside of buffing down the factory finish is that there’s less ‘leeway’ for repairs to the intake resulting in more expensive maintenance costs. You’ll see airlines with the standard Matt finish have the odd bit of metallic showing on the intake which is a sign this area has been buffed down at the time of a repair.
Boeing 757 was probably one of the best aircraft Boeing ever made. The RB 211 engines have one of the best reliability engines ever made. G-LSAA is still flying as of 24/9/2022 and I’m sure will go to one of the freight companies for many more years of service when Jet2s new Airbus A321 fleet starts to be intergrated into their fleet.
The 757 used to be THE plane we all got on to go the popular holiday destinations like Tenerife, Lanzarote, Kos, Corfu, etc. Airports were full of them as they plied their trade with ease and comfort. The sound of the RB211 filling our ears all the way. Such a beautiful machine. You can send the same 757 to Zante one day and then over the Atlantic to Newark or New York the next. Such a versatile plane. Sadly, now becoming a bit of a rarity. Even Jet2 will phase them out soon enough. Replaced by the clinically clean and characterless A321. That thing has no charm, no soul. It's boring. Great film, you captured the essence of the flight perfectly.
What an awesome smooth landing ❤️ I just love the 757 there’s something about them Thanks for a great video I enjoyed watching this and have subscribed
That RB211 is the best sound of any commercial turbofan out there
very distictive spool up on the RBs,,i like the CF6s personally although not used on 757
Can’t beat that noise of those engines take off, cruising, approach and landing 👌🏼

This turbofan engine roaring makes the best music in the world. What a lovely classic bird in beautiful livery. Lovely trip report. Thanks.
They take care of their engine rim intakes! Beautiful and shiny. Best plane ever 💙757. This pilot is giving it some on taxi!

Strange to see Manchester under a blue sky and not a grey one lol. Great video
Lovely RB211 buzz. Fantastic view after takeoff, not often it's that good visibility at Manchester
I've flown in two 757s to Greece - lovely planes! Great Lanzarote landing shots! I recently landed at Lanzarote in a B737 simulator! 🙂
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww😕
Looks like a heavy takeoff. Crazy how that 34 year old airplane keeps going in service.
Really cool video...... THANKS...........💫
Great flight video Casey.
Awesome view with the engine 🤩🤩
Nicely done mate 👍
suprised they still have the 757, its a bit of a rare species now
I say, that is one shiny engine rim
Thank you for filming well done.
RB211 - Superlative British Aero Engineering!
Back in service, flew to Tenerife return then Ibiza after 15 days since last flight
Superb buzzsaw sound of the RB211s. Nothing beats that.
Great Video, I'll be flying out there from Manchester to Lanzarote in a few day
I would love a Stansted video or a eats midlands night one. A live stream would be cool aswell. Keep it up ✅
757 Rocket ship service. And this one has red engines!
pppppp💮
uuuuuuuuuuuu📯
What an awesome smooth landing ❤️ I just love the 757 there’s something about them
Thanks for a great video I enjoyed watching this and have subscribed
Fantastic view over the Dorset coast17:30!
Beautiful video 😍
Those things climb like a rocket!
Of that's what you call a "firm landing" they you have clearly never been on Ryanair, that was butter!
Great video
What! A clear blue sky in Manchester?
Great video 👍🏻 thanks for sharing subbed & liked
Is that the sound of that engine....Sounds ruff
nice video apart from the laughing hyena at the end lol
How annoying was that 😂
Love 757
it's very old this 757...!!!
But very unreplaceable.
If it’s not broken don’t fix it
@@757Superfan Rubbish!
The turbine noise is chilling
The woman going are we gonna land on the water...Well you never know!! 😄❤️😎👍
Recently flew from manchester, not the same without the announcement chime
Alas, G-LSAA seems to be stored. Hasn't flown since returning from Zakynthos on 27/08/22.
I can kind of hear the noise when it passes by and it’s about 5,000 feet or 3,000 feet
never liked the engine sound when climbing, sounds like it's struggling to me.
I fly jet 2 but I’ve never been on a 757
The sound of rb211 by rolls Royce same thing as a table fan, microwave oven etc
Noti Gang 🐐
What seat were you sat in?
Probably 🧀 0:01

Lol I was on the flight the day before
At 14.22 you could see our house🤪
Skip the first 10 minutes if you don’t want to look at filler.
I can see my house.😄
The 'scratched window' was 'irritating'?
Hope that you reported it.
Fantastic video! 👍
Its not ideal to film out of, but all windows were pretty much like that around my seat (I couldn't do much about it sadly)
Hardly worth making a fuss about, there's not much they could have done is there
@@AndreiTupolev Exactly, as frustrating as it is, it is an old aircraft and things like this do occur and aren't on the top of the crews priority list
Considering G-LSAA is 34 years old a few scratches are to be expected!
So autistic.
🔥😂😁
Great Video, I'm trying to grow my channel, how do you get so many views and Subscribers.
Those engines sound terrible, like vibrations going through a tin can!
How dare you
Noisy plane, eek
