    Just received my Scout today. Built like a tank. Very impressive. They run small though. I’m normally a Large in every jacket and ordered an XL here. Still a bit tight and could only wear a long sleeve T-shirt with it. If want to wear a simple flannel shirt underneath then need a bit larger. Just ordered an XXL and will return this but really love the jacket. I’m 5’11” 188 44” chest. Love the more athletic fit like my Arcteryx Beta AR and that it’s not boxy and frumpy like an FT looks like it is. Can’t wait for the larger one.

      I wish I got mine in a large when I ordered it. The medium fit, but was tight with an extra layer. I did have an old V1 prior in a medium and it fit perfect. But the current V2 is a little slimmer cut, and it had the extra layer inside making it a little slimmer. But it’s still a great jacket. One you will have a lifetime.

    Nice video. Love these types of jackets, I have the I&R Cruiser in tan and black and a charcoal colored Rambler, but I needed something lighter weight for warmer temps, so plan on picking up the F&T in either Field Tan or Havana.

      I’m currently rocking the new FNT unlined wax trucker jacket. It’s about 90° out here today, and it’s a bit warm wearing anything more than shorts and a T-shirt. But the unlined is great for the mid 60s up to about the mid 80s. Especially if you’re out riding a bit. it’s a perfect way to keep that wind and sun off your skin.

    Honestly for me I can’t do without a corduroy collar. The difference in comfortability between a soft lined and non-lined collar are night and day for work

    • @jeffgrantMEDIA
      @jeffgrantMEDIA  4 месяца назад

      For the most part I agree. FNT should add a cord collar to most of their waxed jackets. Aftet having the flannel lined for a while now, this is the only one I think works without it. Maybe it’s just because I’ve been wearing this for so long, I am use to seeing it cosmetically without a lined collar. Comfort wise, yes though. I would love tot see the under side of the cuffs lined. #keeptbosewatchfacesclean

    I have the exact same charcoal F&T Trucker in medium (we are the same size), but I find it too boxy for my liking. I prefer the I&R but not sure I would like the weight. After wearing a lightweight vertical jacket and dry wax unlined bomber from TS, even the F&T is heavy. Nice comparison though👍

    • @jeffgrantMEDIA
      @jeffgrantMEDIA  10 месяцев назад

      The I&R definitely has more heft to it than the FNT. It’s. A heavier weight canvas, and it has two linings. A water barrier (in my opinion, unneeded in a waxed jacket, and the liner).

    Owning both the Flint & Tinder & the Iron & Resin I concur on all points-the F&T is a looser fit but the I&R is seriously heavy duty. My choice would be the Freenote every time.
    Great reviews fella but you’ve gotta check out the Freenote.

    The FT jacket definitely looks better on u. It’s an outer layer so I don’t think I’d care much how it’s lined, it’s essentially a stylish windbreaker (with the wax) thats easy to layer. The IR is cut too short…that won’t compliment too many people? I ordered the Gustin version of a waxed trucker. It has a bit more detail which may or may not be better? Definitely will add the FT if I don’t love the Gustin. Im an engineer, I find it hard to believe a jacket could have a one or two inch variance….that would be some horrible quality control and impossible if automated.

    • @jeffgrantMEDIA

      Did you ever end up getting and FNT jacket? And how is the Gustin wearing?

  • @Jordannotthecountry
    @Jordannotthecountry 11 месяцев назад +1

    My issue with the iron resin is you can’t move in them. Or I can’t. I can’t even comfortable bend down to pick something up in it with my arms stretched…there’s no way you’d be able to do any type of work in it. It’s just a standing around jacket honestly. For me anyway.
    Flint and tinder isn’t great in that regard but it’s better. But the material is way too light to wear outside of social/fashion settings. Like wearing paper.

    • @jeffgrantMEDIA
      @jeffgrantMEDIA  11 месяцев назад

      You may want to check out the FNT wool waxed trucker or the Rancher. The wool is 8.5 Oz and the Rancher is 10oz. One of the issues with the I&R is the 12 Oz is pretty thick and restrictive. It is a more form fitting cut as well. I kind of wished I sized up in the I & R.
