    Jeff, great video some reviews say the sizing is off.. I read a review/ comment somewhere where the person said they are 5’9 and 185lns and a size XL was too small and they had to order a XXL . I’m 5’10” and 200lbs with broad shoulders and XL is a perfect fit with room for layering . I think this jacket is fantastic and I could probably fit into a large with room for light layering

      These are certainly a tapered fit. I would say they follow a European size scale closer than an US one. I was pretty slim when I got mine. In hindsight I should have sized up one for a better fit and to allow layering. But there wasn’t too much out there on these at that time. And i had an old V1 of this jacket first, which fit really well. I wish I kept that one, as I ended up preferring the tan color in the long run. But the quality and craftsmanship were great on this jacket.

    Just received mine today. Built like a tank. Very impressive. They run small though. I’m normally a Large in every jacket and ordered an XL here. Still a bit tight and could only wear a long sleeve T-shirt with it. If want to wear a simple flannel shirt underneath then need a bit larger. Just ordered an XXL and will return this but really love the jacket. I’m 5’11” 188 44” chest. Can’t wait for the larger one.

      It’s a solid jacket!

      Received the XXL and it fits beautifully so that I can layer a sweatshirt underneath if necessary for the colder weather. Such a quality, well made piece. Look forward getting it nice and broken in. I know you didn’t care for the zipper but to me the zipper is a real plus.

      @@johnt1115 I guess for me it’s more of an aesthetic choice on the zipper. I just think a trucker jacket needs to have buttons only. I did use it every once in a while when I had mine, but I’d always use the buttons. I thought they just look better.

    Nice review, Jeff! I&R has been on my radar and continues to be. Hoping to pick something up late summer so I can start wearing this fall.

      Thanks for checking out the review. I am pretty satisfied with the jacket. I did get an F and T shortly after. And I really like both jackets. I plan on doing a comparison soon (just need to find a spare hour of time). I do wish the newer versions were still make in the US like the Rambler is. But that is more because of price point and not quality.

    Nice video. I’m 5’9.5”, 167 lbs., with a 41” chest…do you think a small would be too tight?

    • @jeffgrantMEDIA
      @jeffgrantMEDIA  Год назад

      I would definitely size up. While the medium does fit me, with the water barrier and the liner, it does run a bit snug. I kind of wished I went with a large myself. If i wear a hoodie it is a bit snug…. This one is for sale if you would like one at a discount.

    What temperatures would you say this is useful in? With let's say just a t-shirt and with a hoodie or similar? I'm having a hard time deciding between lined and unlined, as I'm looking for a jacket for spring/fall and cool summer nights in Denmark, so temps in the 7-17 degree celcius range (44-62 ish Fahrenheit). I like the idea of a lined wax jacket, for comfort, but I'm afraid it gets too warm for my use case. Whereas with the unlined rambler I'm more afraid of the sticky feeling on my bare arms while just wearing a t-shirt.
    I only just realised the Scout exists due to you video, I had looked at the cruiser, which I also really like the look of, but I was worried about the super thick canvas, so noticing the Scout as an inbetween got me intrigued.
    I can't really try them on due to my location, so would appreciate your input.

      I would easily wear this jacket in that temp range with either a hoodie or just over a T shirt. I have or had the rambler, nothing have (and love) the Flint and Tinder unlined waxed trucker. And I don’t find that to feel to waxy on the skin when wearing it with just a t shirt.
      But the lined jacket is more comfortable when it does get a little warmer. I know that sounds backwards. But it does feel nicer on the skin having a liner between you and the waxed when it’s really hot out. I’ve worn the unlined in my ruckus in over 90F 33c temps. And those really hot temps the liner is nice.

    • @theodorthiele
      @theodorthiele 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@jeffgrantMEDIA thanks so much! I had read similar things about the lining, but at the same time others saying it was much better for cold weather, and would easily get too hot. So it’s good to get your conformation on my thinking that I’d prefer lining!
      Have you by any chance tried the cruiser jacket too- and been able to compare to the scout? I like the gusseted shoulders, and it’s also stated to be longer, but I prefer the front layout and corduroy details of the scout, so I’m a bit torn, and so far have kept the thickness of the cruiser keep me from it.

      @@theodorthiele I have not tried their cruiser jacket. I have reached out to the a few times to try and get product for review, but I never hear back. The Cruiser is on my list of jackets I want to try thought. So stay tuned, as I may try and pick on up this fall.

      It was pretty bummed about it. But a s I said, I’m pretty handy with a needle and thread. So about five minutes of a sit down in front of the TV and it was completely fixed. I did intentionally use white thread, so I would be able to show it in the review. Normally I would’ve used the same color thread of the pocket lining. In this case I would’ve use black.

    Iron and resin makes clothes for mannequins. There’s no range of movement. The quality is not that great. I’ve bought three jackets from them all n-1 interpretations from back in 2017-2018. They’re marketing to a specific body type and they want you to make you feel like you live in Ventura California where you ride your dirt bike or 1970’s bronco through the ojai area and bask in the Ventura county life with a beer in your hand and so cal swagger on your lapel. They definitely weed and screen reviews to make their products more appealing. I loved some of the designs and the Ventura feel their products inhabit but after seeing and hearing from other customers of how they conduct their reviews and give no interest in feed back I had to not even look in the companies products direction. It sucks because they do have good looking products but I needed more than looks and inaccurate advertising I wanted practicality which these clothes do not provide. I’ve since gotten rid of the three jackets I had because they just didn’t meet the standards of their creation.

      I have had two jackets from them, both I bought and paid for. One was from eBay (V1 Scout) one was from them (V2 Scout). I found the build quality to be top-notch on both. The V1 was a bit larger cut, but it also didn't have lined sleeves or the Resna liner. Both certainly have a more tapered design due to the jacket style. They are type 3 jackets, and unless you size up, this is how they are supposed to fit. They are a SoCal company, so why would you fault them for their SoCal vib? I wouldn't mind cruising around the desert and a chopped-top Bronco with a beer in my hand. Sounds like a nice life to me. Guess I was born a decade to late and on the wrong side of the country.

    Awful company with third-rate quality goods and non-existent customer service. They use cheap, defective components for their gear and won't honor their Repair or Replace Guarantee, which constitutes fraud. Do yourself a favor and read the reviews about their terrible quality and zero customer service, and go with a reputable company with higher quality goods.

    • @jeffgrantMEDIA
      @jeffgrantMEDIA  3 месяца назад

      That was not my experience at all. The customer service was great for me. I originally emailed them to confirm a jacket I bought on eBay was legit. They got back to me within a day and then answered all my questions about the jacket I bought featured in this video. I found the materials and build quality to be great and on par with the price point. I did not need to deal with a warranty claim, as the only thing that needed repair, I was more than capable of fixing on my own within 10 minutes.
