Evolution of Wario's Moveset in Super Smash Bros. (2008-2018)

Wario moved very weird in SSBB but he's got more normal movement since then.

I really liked Wario's stilted animation in Brawl, obviously it wasn't smooth compared to the others but it really added to his goofiness

Wario would be SO much better if he was Wario Land-based. Why Sakurai just made up moves for him instead of drawing from the games is beyond me... goes to show he doesn't know the character very well.

Brawl Wario is still the best. The worse change they made other than borrowing Mario moves is making his animations smooth.

Wario may be an "interesting" character to be put in Smash, but I don't understand what gave Sakurai the idea to have Wario fart on his opponents, in some of the Wario Games and Mario Games he never does that, I mean if you count Mario Strikers Charged where he did do it once, but still it feels a bit unnecessary.

many of the old characters in Smash do a poor job at representing their series. it's only since Smash 4 and Ultimate that they are very acurrately representing the games.

Even for Wario, a flatulence move is totally out of place for him.
A farting move would work better for Abe from Oddworld, who not only farts sometimes in his games as a gag, but after drinking the Soulstorm Brew in Abe's Exoddus, he gains the ability to create explosive farts.
Wario is simply characterized by being strong, selfish, greedy, and cruel. Why does he get the farting move?

I see a lot of people praising Wario’s choppy animations from Brawl but it really wasn’t my cup of tea. Feels like they keyframed some of his animations and never got around to filling in those blanks (so to speak) until the next game. Wonder if anyone’s ported his Smash 4 animations to Brawl/PM yet.
