For this video, I’ll show you guys how to play “Newer Super Mario Bros Wii” off a USB/HDD using USBLoaderGX or WiiFlow! You will need a modified ISO of “New Super Mario Bros” the Backup Manager program and a Wii with Homebrew, D2X CIOS and USBLoaderGX installed!

I know it’s been 6 years since you have made this video but this is the only video that has worked for me after months of trying so thank you very much.
It feels like you made the wii considering all these guides towards mods you've made.

bruhhhhh but how can I get the newer ISO ???? how do you patch your iso rip of nsmbw to a newer version 1.3 iso . i can find the iso for an older version but want the new 1.3 updates

when did you convert the disc image file to WBFS?
That’s just what the WBFS is called on computer
How do I create the ISO file? I tried making a wbfs with patchimage, but it crashes after a few seconds, during the safety warning or controller info
Do you know if there is a way to open a game in usb loader gx, then use a riivolution-only mod on it? Such as you have only an iso of New Super Mario Bros Wii and the riivolution of Newer.
it depends. sometimes you can try ocrina if it has your mod if not, then your out of luck :P you need a newer iso

Before you download the wiibackupmanager, I recomand installing adblocker on google. The page is full of adds an even on the download page after the adfly skip, it wont download, or maybe its just take some time but dont click on the links to make you beleve that it will start the download. kinda strange but even after all this an ad showed up anyways but the download started xD.
I was literally unable to install wiibackupmanager before installing adblock. You're right.
@@neptune3569 Thats good but I made this comment before I found a better way to play Newer SMBW. I I recomand that you follow Jack Sorell's guide to install homebrew on your Wii or Wii u. After that you can look up the offcial Newer SMBW website and it's download instructions. Just ignore the part where you need Super Smash Bros Brawl, you only need to modyfy the Mii chanel.
I guess this video can work depending on if you are planing instead to play Newer SMBW on pc with Dolphin but idk otherwise.

Does this only work on Wii, or does it work on Wii U aswell? Because I did everything you said in the video, and it doesn't come up on USBLoader and I don't know why :(

I needed this because I recently nodded my wii but my disk stopped working
Have you run into any freezes or crashes? I have a few of the "Newer" games on usbloadergx. I have no problem loading and playing games. However, when I'm ready to call it quits and I try to return to the Wii home menu my Wii crashes. The Wii is still on as is my controller, but nothing is on the screen so I have to manually turn off my console and turn it back on. Any fixes for this or is that pretty typical?
you can try going to usbloader gx setting and change the Retern to setting to usbloader gx, or homebrew, or system menu,

for some reason, the wii backup manager doesn't transfer the game to the pen drive. can someone please help?

I experienced that problem before but not on Newer Super Mario Bros Wii. I suggest you update all of your missing/outdated iOS/cios using modmii.
Sooo, you need the same stuff as if you were gonna do it with riivolution, I recommend doing it that way since you don't need a NTSC version or a iso just one app and a disk. *and homebrew etc*

My USB loader looks different and every time I play the game it just glitches out and sends me back to the wii menu so do you have any solutions to that problem?

This don’t work. My cios installer looks different and when I open a game it sends me back to the wii menu.
This is a pretty old video try a newer video and make sure that u have it on fat 32 (i had the same problem) somtimes wii flow dosent work so try switching ro usb loder or if usb loder dosent work u can try wii flow
I know this video is a year old, but if I burn the ISO onto a disc, then can I play it just by inserting it into my wii?
nobody has really done that since you can just play it on usb

When I open usbloader gx and click on a Wii game, it pops up as GameCube and it takes me to Nintendon't. Can someone help me solve that problem?

Cuz' my dad Has a drive but it Has some Problems and the games dont Show the games that are loaded on the drive but with the cfgusbl ( configurable USB loader) the games are playable soooo can you Help me with that?

I pressed start on newer super mario bros wii but it brought me back to homebrew
my wii hates me. Everytime I launch a game on usb loader the screen goes black, my controller wont turn on and it sends me back to to the Homebrew Channel. I really don't know what the problem is. Im starting to lose faith in usb loader and wiiflow. please help me.

After trying to load the game I just get a black screen and it takes me back to homebrew after a minute.

Thank you for your answer. What exactly is cfw? I think I don't have it but I solved the problem today. I just installed another usb loader. "Cfg USB Loader" made all my games work. I had issues with "usb loader gx"

What files did you have in the Newer Wii folder after the transfer?

You can also use an SD card with the latest version.

Is it an ISO? Because you can just transfer the ISO to youe USB and run it through wiiflow like any other.

I followed your steps exactly as you showed them, went into wiiflow, downloaded a cover for it, clicked play and the screen went black. Why does this happen. I don’t really know much about this sort of stuff. If you could respond that would make my day. Thank you!!!
Go to settings and go to second page and choose start up settings turn “Force Load cIOS” On And set “Force cIOS Revision to 250. Hope this helps!
NoctaRacer Thank you for responding!!! I was checking other channels and commenting on their posts as well but nothing seemed to be working. For some reason, as soon as I changed my usb drive it worked almost like magic. I was able to download iOS 236 and follow some other steps (video was titled something like how to fix wii if it says iOS 249 is a stub) and then the games started working. I’m not sure what made the difference between the two usb drives considering both are formatted correctly but it just worked. I just want to still thank you and your video for helping through this process though because I was almost tempted to factory reset my wii. THANK YOU!!!!! ❤️❤️

@@h3ryfx Yes it is but it only works for version 1.2.0 and under unfortunately. The Newer Team did something with 1.3.0 which renders it useless

Anyone know for a forwarder for this game? I've tried with custom ones and the such but they always show up as normal New Super Mario Bros Wii.

@@iiFerd You have a point, but the ones I use are custom made and the videos I've seen of them show it specifically saying "Newer SMB" but it never works for me.

@@iiFerd Well no.. The point of the custom ones for download is that it's already made for you ready to go.
It is possible to make a custom WAD for this game, I may look into doing it myself just to make things look better. But usbloader/wiiflow wont have box art for this so while its still possible to make one for those tools I think it less likely to be known

No tutorial (including this one) has been able to help so I’m asking you all here for help I have a working Wii but that’s it I don’t have any memory chips or connectors so I want to ask can you get newer super Mario bros wii with only a Wii and can you modify your Wii without outside help (I mean without connecting it to anything else) if anyone knows how (if you can) please tell me because nothing else is useful
