THANK YOU FOR WATCHING!
Just the way he places the crappie back in the water says a lot about the man. Truly enjoys what he does. Sir, you just made me a subscriber.
Elmo, another great lesson!! The respect that you treat your catches with is something a lot of folks should take notice. Too many so-called fisherman just casually toss their catch back. Thanks!
You are indeed gentle with the fish. Much appreciated.
Float and fly..my fave presentation. Say hello to Elmo and as always..God Bless ya Richard 😊
Thanks again Richard!!. This crappie fishing has been a new lease on life for me . I have been doing alot of crappie catching here thanks to your inspiration. Using jigs, I have been catching multi species daily, which never happened in the past when just targeting bass. Was on a job all this week (Drywall contractor) where the customer lived on a gorgeous lake/pond. For example, yesterday I caught pickerel, bass, shellcracker and crappie!!. Thanks for what you re doing for the sport of fishing
best fisherman ive ever seen.
I tell you big guy... the only thing prettier than them slabs swimming in lake guntersville is them slabs swimming in lake crisco! I wish everyone would consider keeping only what you need. Your an inspiration. Thanks a ton.
"Lake Crisco"
🤣
I’m from Okeechobee Fl, I just wanna thank ya for your videos, I’m having hell myself with a few things in life and your videos give me just a little bit of peace and happiness. I appreciate it a bunch. Speck fishing is the only thing right now that takes my mind off of my struggles for a little while and your videos make me go. Thanks again, keep putting me up!
"Works year round. Sometimes."
😂😂😂 Oh man, I love the new videos but I still go back and watch the old ones too! Thank you Richard!
I agree RG if it bites my hook it's a good fish and "it's good fer ye" and I enjoyed the video of another 2 thumbs up day on the Tennessee river
My girlfriend and I recently started watching your videos. We both enjoy them. Thanks for posting. We have learned a lot watching them. She loves your humor..
Nothing like catching me some Sacalait!!! Ca c'est bon!!!
Peg the bobber from the bottom... you sir have just changed my friggin life!
Thank you for the video Richard Gene you are a true Southern gentleman. And them were some nice crappie.
Watching Richard throw all that good eating back kills me.
@@ARCSTREAMS It is cheaper to just buy the fish at your grocer.
Unless one lives near productive fishing waters.
Same with hunting.
Doesn't Alabama have a deer limit of 1 per day for 30 days? or some such.
Just sayin'
This dude is the Bob Ross of crappie fishing. "Let's catch another one right over there"
There's so many "fisherman" that just throw or even "launch" their fish back into the water. What I love about this is that he's so gentle with the release. It's important to protect our waters and preserve them for future generations. I'm 25, and I have a son who 2 years old. I want to show him how to respect nature and all of gods (or the universes) creatures. This guy genuinely reminds me of my grandfather who owned 5 80 acre pay to fish lakes. He always maintained that if you're taking a fish, you kill it humanely and don't let it suffer or keep it on oxygenated water until your ready to fillet. It's small steps, and no it's not against the law, but it shows the character of someone who's willing to do the small little things when nobody is looking.
I'm in Kansas so the fishing is hard out here without a boat, but I'm excited to try this out around some timber and see what happens. Thanks for this video and I hope you're doing good!
Love your boat setup with the green mat
I just keep watching your videos over and over. You do a great job.
Great video. I love the fact that you're so gentle with the fish we all love to catch. I salute you sir...
Great job Richard Gene! Always enjoy "following along" with ya while you fish.
This is how I catch my fish. Jig with either boottails, twirl tails or tubes & a bobber. I catch anything from bluegill & pumpkinseeds to crappie & LMB. Keepin’ it simple
You doing a heck of a job man...one of my favorite techniques for crappies in spring and in the fall...deadly
Thanks for wearing your life jacket while driving your boat👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Man I have learned a bundle and have truly truly enjoyed watching for the past year.
I'm subscribed to alot of fishing channels and this one is by far my favorite. Great fishing, great attitude, and you can really tell the experience of Richard. Great angler, that you can tell loves what he does.
I'm so glad I found your channel this winter. Your the best! Thank you
Thank you Mike! I appreciate you watching my friend!
You are the best crappie fisherman I have ever seen. I believe you can catch one in a mudhole.
Richard, I enjoy your videos. I'm a crappie fisherman and we fish about the same way. There is nothing like a big slab!
Thank you, Richard Gene I do love the way you represent and fish the Crappie. I would really like to join you on the water someday.....
I like using marabou jigs under a float like this, especially in colder water. Just tiny movements will make the marabou pulsate.
Really enjoying your presentation. Enjoying your efforts to explain how and why, when you changed colors of jigs. Your efforts to share your methods really shine, while not getting into all the hype, near yelling and bragging that others do!
Thank you!
You absolutely never cease to amaze me...Another unbelievable video brother 👍 loved it as always!!! Thanks again Richard.....
Wow slaaabbs! Good one Richard! The bite is on! Thanks !
That's how i do it from the bank- working a slip bobber rig with a couple of jigs- got my PB 2lb-9oz 16-3/4 inch Crappie with it last Feb.
that's how we fish for crappie from a boat up here. a bobber, and a live minnow. Once you find the depth your just yank em out for hours. I cleaned 75 crappie one day after a 4 hour fishing trip.I clean right there on the boat ramp. then take them home and cut the fillets off.
How could you not like a video from RGTFM!!!!Keep up the good videos. I am like a kid at Christmas when I see you post a video.
LOL Thank you so much Basketball Ref! Glad you enjoy them!
Mean Gene the crappie machine!! Thanks for the great show 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love all the videos. This one is no exception. Could you make a video about how to locate crappie on a body of water you have never fished before? Thanks brother. You inspire us all to be ethical outdoorsmen.
Ben B- When crappie fishing new bodies of water I have had the best luck by simply determining what depth the fish are at and fishing that depth around some sort of structure (Docks, Bridges, Brush Piles, etc.) A depth finder and other electronics makes this easier but you can do it without a depth finder as well. Simply find out how deep the water is your fishing but using your pole length to measure. Drop your jig to the bottom to determine depth. Fish 3-4 ft above the bottom and work your way up until action starts happening.
I live by Sullivan Park and Lake, in Indiana. LOTS of crappies; lot of 7-9 inch ones, BUT, I have a spot, when the wind is out of the west, that the hogs congregate! Near a bridge; caught 12's, 13's and a few 14 inch there. Biggest one on Sullivan was a 17" crappie!! I use the same technique, but use solid head tube jigs with 1/16 oz. jig heads, small weighted bobbers similar to those shown here. Good video over all.
I've noticed that Mr.Gene never over estamates the size of his catch. 100% honest evaluation. I can appreciate an honest man. Especially a in a fisherman! Lol , fishermen tend to stretch the truth a little bit. Lol . Not Gene. Maybe Elmo, never Gene.
Ha I was out on Wheeler today and a guy brought you up. He went to leave and said "go fishing when you can cause it's goooood fer ya"
Great video. Can't wait to get out there and use some of these great tips.
Looks like a good point off the main lake for pre spawn fish good job didnt catch no crappy at farmpond but had a good time seeya
I had the chance to meet Richard today at the river.what a nice guy I could fish with him.
You let go of more fish then I have ever caught. Great video.
You should be on TV. Have your own show like Bill Dance. Thanks Gene.
Wow! Old Goldie had it going on!!
Good way to blow off the dust!! nice slabs!
Nice video, I use fish attractants such as krill oils and other scents including power bait scents. Best thing I do when I am done fishing is to drop the jigs, spinners, spoons, blades or whatever I put the scent on in a plastic half gallon milk container filled with Dawn dish soap and water. Shaking the container washing the scent off and extending the life of my jigs, lures and other items used to catch fish. I then rinse them off with clean clear water and lay out to dry.
Great video Richard thanks I'll be watching your next video thanks again Richard
That thing about which way to mount your float is an excellent point . Ive had that trouble .
I live in southern Idaho and bought a 16 foot boat with a trolling motor. Looking forward to catching lots of crappie.
You really do a great job on your videos. Thank you for that.
You've gone and done it again Brother! Awesome video! Thanks again! 😀

You are my favorite fisherman to watch! I'd love to come fish with you and fry em up with Mama Sue!
Been watching these videos since duck season ended. Got the boat all set up ready to go with newer electronics. Got all worked up. Strung up poles with new line and got jig heads and plastic baits AND THEN THE STATE CLOSED IT ALL DOWN OVER A VIRUS.
So I watch videos.
Sigh.
Woo woo hey woo. Thoes were some nice fish. Woo woo what more can I say except Go fishing when you can cause it's goooooood feeer ya. Love it man.

Your the crappie master . Wish the good Lord would turn the water off up here in Tn. The Cumberland River is one more mess right now.cant wait to get back out. Another great show !!!
Thank you Rusty! i know what you mean! We have had quite a lot of rain here to!
Glad to see you broke over 16k subs. You deserve it bro. Richard Gene The Fishing Machine..
Love that Goldie jig !
it looks like the same rig i used for crappie 50 years ago...that jig was the most popular and they were called flee flies...they came in yellow....white...and a combination of white and yellow
There nothing like good ole southern talk.
Dadgum good episode Richard! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!
Watch all your videos, Thanks for the great channel. Thanks for treating the fish with care because it does matter. Going Fishing.
Best youtube fishing show there is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Robert!!
Great video and great fish, as always. Thanks again Richard. You are THE MAN.
This is awesome. I'll be stylin and profilin while catchin me sum fishies.
I fish like this everytime. I use the Slip Lock Bobbers that slide over the line and lock on both ends. Works great.
This is how I got started fishing for crappie. Now that my confidence has grown with catching crappie, I use the twitching just a crappie jig and twitching a bobber both. At times, it seems like I catch more crappie without a bobber.
derek a yep same here. Even with the bobber/jig setup I twitch all the way in. The water so clear where I fish, I can see the fish hit as I stand on the bank. I need to get a GoPro
Where can I buy those Perry jigs???
I think they are just hand tied for him. I would love to get into lure making and jig molding.
derek a Email him at Perrypippenger@gmail.com if you want some made!
I watch’em all and always look forward to the next one. You are the best.
Thank you so much Don!!
watch your videos all the time. nothing fake just honest fishing good tips tricks. was curious if you do fishing tournaments
And remember go fishin when you can because it's goooooood forrrrr you!!!!!!
go feeshin with yur keeids! Love your vids RG. Ever consider using a Sharpie marker to put measure points on your gunnel of your boat for a quick measure of those slabs you're always catching? I really appreciate the respect and care you have for the fish you catch. CLASS ACT!
At a boy ,Richard. You're a Machine hoss.
11gouunsķ r 8 x ,

Hey there Mr. Gene thanks again for another great video & for giving me Crappie fever!!! I do love watching you catch them ol slabs!!!! Alabama has a great fishery!!!!!
Thank you for sharing. I would have kept most of those but being a conservationist from time to time is a good thing too. Keep these vids coming brother!
My favorite way to fish crappie

Absolutely like watching your videos Mr. Gene! Keep em coming. Thank you
Great Experiment.... I am gonna try it! Thanks!
Well done mr gene you make it happen. Nice crappies another fine video buddy Like you say go fishing when you can because its good far yall thanks mr gene
Paused at 3:00 Put that fish attractant into a little bottle with a pump-spray top. I'll be that'll make it a lot quicker to put a shot on your jig and get it in the water. Just a thought. Love your channel man. Only thing I like more than catching crappie is eating crappie.
Nice fish handling THANKYOU, too many people mis handle the fish
I love it but really I'm ready for a fish fry come on Geno!
Thanks for sharing. Crappie action was a little slow for me this year. With your videos I will do some adjusting to my techniques. I need to catch some for may Mamma A!
I caught 14 last weekend on a four foot 8 inch ultra lite ugly stick had so much fun I ordered two more poles
Man those are some great crappie Gene!
I find w the fish attractant- I do t know if I get more bites, but the definitely hit it better and hold longer- I like to use the “crappie nibbles” but I put them in a baby dropper and shoot them inside of a tube jig. A couple nibbles lasts the life of the tube, instead of coming off every cast
Thanks Richard. I live north of Gadsden. Never fished Huntersville. Where is the best boat ramp area up there. That's safe
Crappie fishing is so fun
glad to see you wearing that life vest ! nice crappie fishing !
