I am American and speak English. RM's lyrics did make sense. He was saying , live your life because no matter what someone is going to hate on you. Just do you and good luck doing it. 💜
@@PlayBackBoyz RM doesn't say random words just because they sound cool. He happens to be fluent in English and takes care in what he says. You guys need to listen to his UN SPEECH from 2018. And please don't compare their English pop songs to their hip hop tracks. They didn't write their fully English songs, of which they only have three. The other 400 or so songs are mostly written and produced by themselves and their team. In Butter, RM wrote the English rap lyrics, to make more their song, and their meaning.
And because of RM's proficiency in English, he does a lot of word play. For example, in Blood, Sweat and Tears, he uses the Korean word MAHNI or MANI, one of 6 word choices, for "more" in the repeated chorus, which of course sounds like MONEY!!! 😅😅😂😂
@@ijustwannabehappier-v4973 RM is fluent. Fluent means you can express yourself well in that language, which he can do in English. It doesn't mean a person won't still occasionally mispronounce a word or phrase or misuse a tense.
The lyrics "Did you see my bag? It's hella trophies and it's hella thick" are extremely meaningful. A lot of K-pop fans were mocking them for not winning any daesang (grand prize) - despite coming from an almost bankrupt label with no power - compared to other groups (from bigger - to not say biggest - labels). But at some point they started winning more and more, sweeping most of them in a few years, surpassing the biggest groups. As of today, they hold the record of most daesang wins in South Korean history with over 70 They are the biggest group in the world and are all successful soloists as well! They all are lyricists (especially RM) and producers (especially SUGA) but they all write, produce and compose to different degrees. The Rap Line - RM, SUGA & j-hope - participates more because they have more experience as they are rappers. RM and SUGA even used to make music before joining BigHit and BTS - RM writes and produces a lot for BTS and himself. 'Intro: Persona' (BTS solo) and 'Nuts' (solo) are some of my favourites (He did too many, it's hard to recommend just a few) - Jin: 'Moon' (BTS solo) and 'The Astronaut' (solo) are my favourites of his. He came back from his military service recently and plans on releasing an album 💜 - SUGA aka Agust D produces and writes a lot for himself and BTS but also for other artists. I'd recommend 'Haegeum' (solo) and 'Interlude: Shadow' (BTS solo) - j-hope: he writes and produces a lot for BTS and himself. my favorites are 'More' (solo) and 'Outro: Ego' (BTS solo). Jack in the Box is my favorite album. He come back from military service in October 💜 - Jimin: 'Like Crazy' (solo) and 'Serendipity' (BTS solo) and are my favorites. His second album - 'Muse' - will be out on July 19th and 'Smeraldo Garden Marching Band' on June 28th! 💜 - V: my favorites are 'Slow Dancing' (solo), 'Inner Child' (BTS solo) and 'Blue & Grey' (BTS) - Jung Kook: 'Begin' (BTS solo), 'Magic Shop' (BTS) and 'Standing Next to You' (solo)
@@PlayBackBoyz Oh, yes they do! And I only explained two lines of one song, haha. RM specifically is known for his complex songwriting - he does have a 148 IQ after all and used to want to be a poet. A lot of it is lost in translation unfortunately but he also does smartly link English and Korean. For example, in 'Ugh!', they use the Korean '옥' (uk) as the English 'ugh'. It doesn't exactly have the same impact but it's use is similar enough and it sounds close. In 'Cypher Pt.3', RM also cleverly uses the word 'Buddha' ('bucheo' in Korean) with 'butcher' in English which sounds similar. He's also known for being very articulate and for making beautiful speeches (he did a legendary speech at the UN) SUGA is known for his raw songwriting. He uses metaphors but his message is much more straightforward most of the time (although he is smart and knowledgeable so it's hard to catch his references if you don't have context), compared to RM who likes complex writing with subtle meanings. He used to work as a producer at 16 - before joining BTS - and originally joined as a producer for BigHit but they convinced him to join BTS instead. J-hope's songwriting is the most "simple" to understand. He voluntarily makes it easier for people to understand what he means. He is the newest to songwriting but he's quickly become respected for it. J-hope headlined Lollapalooza in 2022 and it was legendary 🙌 There's often context and history about them or Korea to know to better understand what they mean. If you're interested, Doolset's lyric translation site provides good translations (useful for songs without MVs) and adds context and references. There are also a ton of explanation videos for their MVs and songs If you want to know more about their story, there's a wonderful fan-made docu-series called 'The Rise of Bangtan'. It's a bit long and there are 21 episodes but it is really interesting. Or you could watch Boracity Magazine's video essays which are also really good. XCeleste made an introduction to the group called 'This is BTS' and a video called 'BTS Hardships (2013-2021)' that highlights maybe 1% of what they went through. The Rice Squad also has a highlight video of their career called 'The Most Beautiful Life Goes On A Story of BTS'. All of those should be fine for copyright as well so no need for extra editing 💜
If you pay attention, you will learn that there is nothing random about BTS. RM is fluent in English and often includes it in his songs. When you can mix two languages, make it rhyme and make sense, it's not random. Their lyrics are worth paying attention to.
RM's words make perfect sense in English 'Haters gonna Hater, player gonna play, Live a life man, good luck' it's something I'd say and I'm British. He's dissing the haters, being sarcastic and then being ironic by telling them 'Good luck'. He does in fact speak perfect English but then he speaks 3 languages and has an IQ of 148. He's one of the main song writers of BTS, Edit due to spelling errors
The most ironic thing for me was that a lot of the pronouncements by these "experts" in English and songwriting seemed pretty random and disconnected to me! LMAO. I had trouble following some of their reasoning or seeing the value of some of their judgments 🤣
@@hd7704 same here I'm left scratching my head wondering if they are (A) paying attention. (B) have problems with their hearing (C) maybe they don't understand English, (which is fine if English isn't your first language (D) lazy (E) have very low IQ's.
Not sure if you knew but RM is fluent in English and it's normal for his raps to be a mixture of Korean and English. Hope you react to more BTS music as well as the members' solo songs. They have a variety of genres to listen to.
You guys better start dropping the racist/nationalist/imperialist assumptions and stereotypes. You're mostly coming across as arrogant fools. Quit the unearned superior attitude, and start taking notes from BTS fans.
aye don’t do RM like that, he speaks fluent English. This song is clearly for the people who criticized them (haters) that’s why he said “haters gonna hate , players are gonna play. Live a life man good luck” the dude in the blue jacket clearly didn’t read the lyrics or his comprehension is slow NO OFFENSE. I hope y’all the best though. Y’all need to react to a guide or something atp. 💜
No, don’t even bother tell these guys about the guide… First of all.. It’s too soon.. secondly: they don’t pay attention to the lyrics … they’d never understand it. Don’t bother with them Army. Let’s move on 🫶🏼💜
Yes, they are basically saying “Guys, we KNOW many of you wanted/expected us to fail, here’s the evidence we’re thriving. (We’re charting songs internationally, traveling all over the world, selling out concerts, winning lots of awards, etc). You’re still stuck there hating, wasting your time. Go do something productive. We need nothing from you, not even apologies.” Also, this song’s original lyrics are mostly in Korean. A lot more lines were changed into English for this remix, and there’s another version mostly in Japanese. (They have Japanese versions of many of their most popular tracks). Writing lyrics in several languages that fit the music/flow of the original while still conveying the main essence/message is not an easy feat. “Random” isn’t a term I associate with BTS work unless the members are purposefully goofing around for laughs. If it seems “random”, it may be an Easter egg or obscure reference/meaning, but it’s there for a reason. I like looking up Doolset Bangtan lyrics for every song because they include a ton of cross references and informative notes. It really is a great resource.
@7Flowers1Dream So true. "RANDOM" is the last word to use when describing BTS' music. A little care and understanding would have been appreciated here. But what do we expect from a channel starting off with the obvious objective to just use ARMY for clicks and engagement.
@mikedillinger6569 that is true, they aren't even ready for the guide. I don't think that they're gonna read any of the lyrics. The guy from the blue shirt wasn't supposedly reading the lyrics. I think that we should give them some lesson. Just saying 😌 BORAHAE 💜
all i gotta say is if ya’ll are gonna react to BTS, please pay attention to detail. the lyrics, the choreo, and the scenes in the mvs. PLEASE do not use us as their fans for clicks and engagements. our fandom might be extremely welcoming and open to new people but we’re also overprotective and don’t accept bullshit from people who wanna use the boys’ names for clout. BTS is the biggest group in the world for a reason, you just have to get to know them and watch their content WITHOUT judgement or prejudice. one of the members (yoongi) said “if you listen to our music without prejudice, you’ll understand and like it”. keep that in mind. thanks 💜.
Exactly!! They're joking like it's funny! There's nothing funny in this.. they aren't even paying attention to the lyics on dance moves or anything! I'll probably not watch their videos ( this was the first one I watched) . I'll recommend you a channel @tripletakereacts those guys are so fun! You should watch their videos for once!! Hehe❤
RM is actually fluently in English. He has given 3 speeches at the U.N. You have to understand their discography which massive. They cover all genres. Butter was released for the western market post COVID and was meant to be lighthearted. They have group songs, songs from the rappers, songs with the vocal line and solo songs within BTS and then each have solo projects. If you like hip hop and rap check out Outre Tear live performance at Wembley at night. That will give you a taste of the rappers. You can also check out their cyphers. Check out Truth Untold for the vocal line. Group songs are hard to pick but check Blood Sweat and Tears, Dope, or Fake Love.
Butter was *not* made for the Western market. It was made for Armys and references us. You realize that as a second language English is widely spoken around the world, right? My sister had to learn it from elementary on. My brother speaks it when he speaks to his collegues in South Africa. So big/international business uses English - even when it is not the mother tongue of either speaking partner. You want to be a big Influencer? Speak English. Tourism? English. Internet/computer? English. In fact Asia admitted to suffering from Covid quiet a bit more than the "Western" countries who relatively early pretended it to be a scam. Butter was pretty long on different Asian charts. Hell, Dynamite is still on SK charts. Truthfully? The members liked Permission to Dance more than Butter. I think their best music is Yet to Come.
@@ruthfischer7615 you are extremely mistaken !!! butter WAS made for western entertainment… It was forced on the boys and they hated it! Forcing everyone to sing in English just to be in the American entertainment industry Soul, South Korea, staff.
@@mikedillinger6569 BTS is not a SM group. Just while you hate that song does not mean they do. No one can force them to do anything these days. The only thing they are forced to do is their military service. With the exception of JK who wants to be a global Popstar the rest of the members could care less. They enjoy when they have success but they are not about it. What is BH or HYBE going to do? Fire them? They would probably crash and burn. The signing *bonus* for their third contract was about 15,8 Million USD each. They are still about (or more) 50% of HYBE's income. Watch their interviews to the song and tell me they all (!) hated it. I mean V had already dropped English music and JK later dropped an English Pop album. I remember the maknaeline and Hobi at the Harry Styles concert in LA. They do like English Pop, too.
@@ruthfischer7615 I am an employee @ BigHit and have been since 2012.. (I actually happen to like this song) NO ONE said anything about an SM group! What are you drinking? But like most Americans, you seem to forget that they live in a semi communist country and don’t have the freedom like you do … The only way they were going to be accepted stated by American Award Administrators Contracts in ANY Western entertainment award ceremony… Is to start making songs in English. (I didn’t say anything about them, not liking the language or liking American Artists, the boys love them ) we were talking about American made tracks being forced on them if they were to get into the American entertainment industry, ONLY !!!! And were DICTATED to never speak of it!! Here’s another newsflash… Capital punishment is alive and well here in SK, . yes it’s true. You know nothing of their TRUE past.! You speak of what you do not know! You’re talking to the wrong person 💜
@@mikedillinger6569 Sure, Jan! You were one of a dozend maybe two dozend enployees of Big Hit in 2012./s If you were that you would not write so much nonsense on social media - you wouldn't have the time. I mention SM groups because they have less artistic freedom than HYBE groups. Even if they are part of the artistic process it is not often celebrated. Take the members of Exo for example. In all the fights I have seen it took only recently someone pointing out that some of the members have writing credits. The only one I looked up was credited... under a variation of his name. The one who is a "dumb American" "drinking" seems to be you. You sound like one of these edgelords from the US. I have had nothing to do with the US continent ever. Let me point out that BTS first song hitting the top 10 of the HOT100 was Fake Love. Idol barely missed the top 10. Boy With Luv got to 8 and On landed on 4. And that is despite youtube deleting 60 million views of ON. BTS sold out Rose Bowl, Met Life Stadium (sold out in 2 hours) and Soldier Field in 2019. The US music industry has *NOT* accepted BTS and if you were working for Big Hit in 2012 and still do you would know that, too. Try some of boracity magazine's work to correct your data. SK is not communist. They are HYPER-capitalist. They do have a heavily Kunfuzian influenced mindset but that is not the same. And what has "capital punishment" to do with anything? We are talking SK not NK.
Before making judgements, it would be worth you getting to know more of BTS' back catalogue and their background experience. You could also watch an introduction to BTS, including the fact that at that RM is fluent in english, so there were no random words. Now most of them have more english vocabulary as they have studied in recent years as they became world famous, there are a lot of countries where english is understood as a first and second language. They are all fluent in Japanese also. BTS cross many genres, there are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, 2 of the rappers were in underground rapping since ages of 13 (Korean age) and have worked and been recognised by many famous rappers now. Some of the genres they have songs in are: rap, edm, latin, pop, as well as ballads. They were formed as a hip hop group, so kpop doesn't represent them really as they are very diverse. They all have solo careers also, all very different to each other. They have billions of fans world wide and have been around for 11 years, so are not some new group who are inexperienced. They are all undertaking mandatory military service at the moment, except Jin who has just been discharged. They will all be out by mid 2025. They made 3 english songs around the time of Butter, which were more pop type, which they made just to cheer people up during the pandemic years. Their best work is in Korean, but they also include english words and sentences in a lot of these. They write their own music and use the mix to say what they want and to give the best lyrically to their messages. They write about societal expectations, mental health, self love and meaningful topics, rather than just love songs. They also have about 900 awards, including Grammy. They have spoken at the United Nations 3 times about self love and issues of youth and partner with UNICEF. They have also spoken in the USA at the White House about Asian hate crime, particularly when it rose because of the pandemic. Some songs to get a fuller understanding of their diversity are: Black Swan, On Kinetic Manifesto, Silver Spoon/Baepsae, Dope, Fire, Fake Love, DNA, Not Today, Run BTS, Idol, Blood Sweat & Tears, Save Me, Airplane 2. They have a massive back catalogue and these are just some. For the rap line, start with Cypher series, Ugh, Outro series, Born Singer. It is also worth watching live performances, some suggestions are: MMAs 2019, MMAs 2018, Festa 2021, Proof Live. Sorry to give you so much, but you have only really touched on a group that has a lot to watch. Fans of BTS are all ages, not just young people. We range from teenage to 70s+, as their lyrics capture people.
So very true, very good background info on BTS. Our 7 men also graduated with bachelors degrees and will be finishing the masters degrees too after military services all while building a successful career organically. They have accomplished so much in a short span of time. Where others will spend a life time and never achieve half of what BTS has done. Unfortunately society now rather mock hard working, intelligent, talented artists like BTS to cover up their own shortcomings and failures. Army's know BTS will continue to rise and we will be there with them. Borahae🙆💜❤
7 members - 3 rappers - 4 vocalists. They write and produce their music. 2 MV suggestions - Black Swan - On Kinetic Manifesto Film. These 2 will give you a bit of insight into their diversity.
I am surprised that out of 5 people during this reaction did not think they were interested in the subtitles...in BTS the lyrics are as important as the choreography..
bruh same... its like nothing about their reaction seems genuine except for their interest in bts clout. like.... the compliments were backhanded and the reaction was not at all a full recognition on overall work put into it.
@@jessicajeon4279 its pretty clear they are not in for the music, lyrics, story or anything behind bts n their songs. they want the clout and the views. army should stop giving views to people like these. one of them was even a bigbang fan as he said!? idk... but why doesn't he he go and react to that stuff which he claims he likes??? pretty sure its for the views only. there are good reactors, army should be conscious about giving views to these people.
Alright, so I genuinely think you guys would ADORE this group. BTS have definitely carved out a part of the world for themselves, they are all genuinely so talented its mind blowing. Also, as a quick tip: when they say RM is the leader they literally mean he leads the group, and acts as the middleman between the company and the group. It doesn't necessarily mean he's the frontman, or the one who stands out the most, or anything like that. In all honestly there is no sole member that stands out over the others, they're all actually very evenly split. They're all multitalented, and have solo ventures while still being part of BTS. Like all the rappers have their own albums/mixtapes they've released, the vocalists have also all had solo albums and singles that have been part of BTS' album or just dropped on their own. They all have their own expertise within performance, production, and songwriting that kinda allows for them to excel in the way they have. The NPR Tiny Desk is a good video just to see their vocals and the group dynamic (they have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists), or their 2021 live room Festa, which was kind of a medley of their songs from their first to their latest group album. Just snippets but it was cool 💜
@@PlayBackBoyz If that's true for more that clout chasing, perhaps make sure you actually know what your talking about. FYI many ARMY have storng backgrounds in Music and/or dance so we know BS when we hear it.
Haters gon’ hate, Players gon’ play is a well known phrase so Idk what you don’t get. This is BTS they are not like any other Kpop group who throw words in a song to make it sound good. You’ll see that as you go along.
Just so u know with BTS, they don't just randomly put any words or sentence in their lyrics. Everything is well thought out, put together and have a reason and it does makes sense. They are known widely for their lyrics for a reason, especially the leader RM.
its just shallow rating for the clout... they are here for the clout nothing else. not the best reactors... i think i would appreciate someone who would actually put time n effort into it.
Sometimes Australians remind me of Americans -- too many people with questionable English reading/writing/speaking ability who look down on others' English ability. These bros are carrying so many racist/nationalist stereotypes, it's going to take years before they grasp that English is RM's THIRD language, and he's MUCH better than all of them in it! 🤣
@@daisylily9670 the way I predicted that before I even clicked on the video lol. I watch a lot of reactions so I've learned which type will be shallow or short-sighted (i.e. often ones with a lot of people/dudes or people who put things like "how good are they are" in the thumbnail or title). That's why I went to the comments before watching cause I figured as much😅. Not always a good sign when people start reacting to bts or kpop first thing on their channel cause often its just for views and not real interest unfortunately
@@Melody-zu4gx those guys are here just for the clout, not fans of bts or music to even put effort into it. n they eve react very badly when someone corrects them. army really need to start putting brain into it before giving clout to anyone. very unprofessional and quite pathetic. i hate these types of reactors. they are here to mooch off of army clout and just dont want to put any thought into the mindless content at all. i know a fake when i see one.
I just want to add that some things can’t translate directly into English. If there are Korean phrases that only make sense in Korean..of course it wouldn’t translate well in English. I'm so ashamed because I dismissed BTS on my first listen. I thankfully gave them another listen and instantly became mesmerized by their immense talent which is an understatement. Please do yourselves a favor and delve deep into BTS's, I promise you will come out changed in a good way.
The thing with BTS, no matter how much they sing in Korean, when the sing in English the words they choose is never something light. Always a lot of thought gone into where ther place that word and why. Thete's always a message. Even with if it was just RM saying 'good luck', that's like gpod luck if you thing you're going to tear us down. It's not a jokey thing. Especially RM's style of lyricism, it's like an onion, especiallybthe song Ddeang, and then if you can find it, there's a video explaining RM's wordplay for the whole song.
Recommend: "We On" color coded lyrics. "Silver Spoon/Baepsae" color coded lyrics and dance practice. "Make It Right" written by Ed Sheeran. RM, Suga, and J-Hope are the rappers. Check out their MANY solo and group songs. DKDKTV channel also created some AWESOME explanation/translating of some BTS songs. Best of luck on your BTS journey! 💜🎶😎
Love watching you having interest with BTS. Hope you react to other BTS songs: Not Today, Idol, Make It Right, Bulletproof Eternal, Love yourself Answer, to name a few. Also, hope you'll react to their live performances as well, which are so much better: Outro: Tear, Mikrokosmos, Jump, Let Go, Attack on Bangtan and so much more. Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜🫶🏽🫰🏽!!
butter was over 3 years ago. There are multiple versions of this song. The original is entirely Korean and there is a remix with Designer as a feature. There is the Steve Aoki Remix, which they obv. did the MV to, and there are other versions they prepared for different award shows that have 1, 2, or 3 dance breaks. RM speaks fluent English... and when BTS drops English words or phrases, they make sense with the rest of the lyrics. He will also use English words to rhyme when the Korean word of the same meaning, doesn't.
This song was for all the people who sh*t on them when they were industry underdogs. Including the lines about don't even apologize -- there is a whole story behind that. There's a reason you hear about kpop in the west now and it's because of these underdogs going around the stranglehold that the Big Three companies in Korea had on the media. They slipped in through online means and organically grew a massive ARMY that eventually saw them take over America.
Rm said "haters gonna hate players gonna play live a life man" becuz bts mainly spread the message of love yourself and Be u so it relates to that and i advise u to do more reaearch about tgem rather than saying crap 🙂🙂
Love the commentary. Check out Ugh! all the 4 Cyphers, Outro: Her, Ddaeng . boy in love, dope... they have alot in their discography. I love that with BTS they aren't afraid to go outside of their norm and try different genres. I've been to their concerts, and they are just as amazing artists as they are as people. Have fun on this journey... looking forward to more of your videos.
BTS has 3 English songs, BUTTER, DYNAMITE and PERMISSION TO DANCE. These songs were created for ARMYs during Covid to cheer us. They never have full English song prior to 2020.
Bts become famous because of theyre personalities and the criticism they had since 2013 until now. They start from nothing .😢 we love them because of theyre music lyricism bts save a lot of armys from depression sucide and how to love your self and speak your self. We love them because of that not theyre looks it just a bonus .
Agust D - Suga of BTS alter ego! His trilogy Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala are legendary! Daechwita is music played when the king arrives; Haegeum is both a Korean instrument, but for this song it references "the lifting of a ban for something forbidden"; and Amygdala, the almond shaped part of the brain that holds pain and memory and controls fear and emotions! These tell the story of young Min Yoongi, aka Suga, aka Agust D, to present day Min Yoongi! Also, Agust D's self-titled song Agust D from his first mixtape, from his D-Day album - the self-titled lead song D-Day, Ugh! featuring JHope, and the fan made MV by elisssa of Snooze, featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto (Oscar award winning composer and pianist, mentor to Suga, composed the piano music) and WooSung (one of the lead singers of The Rose, Korean rock band). Sakamoto briefly appears in the video and sadly passed away from cancer shortly before the release of the album. Suga BTS solo and rap line songs are numerous. Suga's best solo is Seesaw! The BTS rap line are Cypher pt 1-4 (all 4 are hard rap diss tracks against their Korean hip-hop underground haters), Ddaeng (hater diss track), and Baepsae (Silver Spoon). Baepsae is about economic disparity in Korean society, expectations for young to succeed, but everything stacked for their failure. The spoon references are all about class and economic status, with mud spoon being the poorest of poor!
There's nothing random about BTS. I think you should pay more attention to their lyrics. They are the world's biggest group for a reason. Enjoy your BTS journey.
For your information here's RM's verse explaination line by line since you don't know how to read subtitles: (RM): "This is the exact saying" - RM is asserting that what he's about to say is the truth. "Right will prevail in the end" - He believes that justice and truth will ultimately win, suggesting that their hard work and authenticity will be recognized. "Once upon a time Aesop's Fables fly" - Referencing Aesop's Fables, which are known for teaching moral lessons, implying that their story will also have a meaningful lesson. "Look at your reality, too bad" - Telling critics to look at their own lives, implying they aren't as successful or happy. "Even if I die now, I'm damn happy (Turn it up)" - Expressing immense satisfaction and fulfillment with his life and achievements, even to the point that he could die happy. "Which country are we going to this time? (Ooh)" - Highlighting BTS's global influence and constant travel for tours and promotions. "Spending hours on a plane (Hey)" - Acknowledging the long hours and exhaustion from traveling frequently and showcasing lavish life style. "Yeah, I'm on the mountain, yeah, I'm on the bay (Bay)" - Symbolizing the highs and lows of their journey, experiencing both peaks and valleys. "Total exhaustion on the stage, MIC Drop baam" - Describing the intense effort and energy they put into their performances, culminating in a powerful and definitive "mic drop" moment. So , This verse conveys a message of pride in their accomplishments, resilience against criticism, and the toll their success has taken on them, all wrapped up in a confident and triumphant tone. Have a great day✌️💜
just fyi 1 of the inspiration of the song came from rm viewing president obama's speech to congress & at the press corp dinner where he dropped the mic.
Yes Butter was one of 3 all English songs one's they only wrote the raps for which were their way of getting through Covid by bringing some fun and helped to uplift people all around the world in that dreadful time. Mood boosters for fun get people smiling and dancing again even if it was only within their own home's or bit later when we could meet outside with masks and social distancing. Where I live people came out into the front gardens with masks on danced and waved to neighbours and shouted greetings to each other across the road and over garden fences/ brickwalls, or hang out of their windows and spoke to people that way.
Hi, I am back. Good reaction. ty. Mic Drop: It's a slap in the face for their haters by saying they're at a point where it doesn't matter what you say because your words don't matter anymore. It's also a flex song by pointing out how many trophies they have because at this point they'd need a U-Haul to get them all. Just for an example, in Korea there are weekly music shows by various stations and the winner gets a trophy. Dynamite has 36 (I think) award show wins and that's without any promotion on their end. Fun fact: Mic Drop was inspired by President Obama's mic drop when he left office. =0] The dance break they added for awards show is cool. There is a practice video for that. And they have performed this song with the new choreo for a while now. I saw another live with it. It is a perfect addition to the original choreo though they just made it harder as usual. =0p So glad u liked this song like I do. BTS never writes dandom lyrics. They are not Kpop. They just BTS. They grew from Kpop and are more now. If u read the whole song and know their history all the lyrics make sense. Stay safe. -NY USA 2019 Army💟 Imajin all the purple said on 2/17/22 - Fun fact: When Suga drops the mic live it's an extra fake mic and Jin taps his mic for the sound. 🤭 - This is from the famously fandom-nicknamed "Dior performance". Their outfits were specially created for each of them for this tour by one of Dior's youngest, hippest designers, Kim Jones who really likes them. - I can't wait for you to dive further into the rap line... Mic Drop is sort of the 5th Cypher which is why they say "the last farewell". They were just done with addressing the haters. 😏😎 - The Dior Performance of Outro: Tear is a rap line must. The song is from when they thought about disbanding and their emotions really show. 💔 @ChocoCastle06 said on 6/6/23 fun fact, in some live performances, SUGA drops a fake mic(bc it would be crazy to drop their customized mic actually) and Jin hits his mic to create the sound of a mic dropping. @dahliapatricia750 said on 6/6/23 The mic drop song has 6 versions 1st version (Korean version Original) 2nd version (Japanese Version) 3rd version (ft. Designer) 4rd version (Mama music award remix) 5th version (ft. Steve Aoki) more Eng 6th version (TINY TAN)
In rap line, there are three members who are RM, Suga and Jhope. Both of RM and Suga came from UG rapper. And Jhope came from UG dancer. The other 4 are vocal line.
Mic Drop is BTS' response to their haters with a little flexing on the side spitting facts...lol. with Suga's epic lines "tasteless ratatouille" & "sue it". I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet To Come Busan concert last October 2022 where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time....but so worth it. You will feel the same energy. 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯 thanks for reacting to BTS.
Yes they can all sing including the 3 Rappers RM, Suga(aka Agust D) and J Hope. This is Mic Drop Light compared to when they do it live with a live band. You have to see how they did it both at Wembley Stadium with the extra hard dance break and at the Busan Yet To Come Concert the swag on them. This is a very mild version compared to Live Award Show and Stadium Concert performances.
i am loving this as an army!! hope you guys check it out more on their solo album as well as they r doing great even in military rn!! i cant wait for more seriously 🥺🫶🏻
Hello guys, recomend a guide to bts members: the bangtan 7, it is small, very detailed, summary of the boys' lives, there you can learn more about them, great reaccion💜
Hey guys I've been ARMY 💜 two years after they debut in 2013, since 2015. I just wanted to say that BTS made this video because they had a lot of haters that was hating on them saying that they haven't won any daesangs awards since they debut. Then in 2016 they won their first Dasaeng Award. Now they have over 74 Dasaeng Awards and hold the record as the KPOP GROUP WITH THE MOST DAESANG WINS. Just wanted to put that out there. EDITED: #btsforever. 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜
Hey thank yoiu for traveling down the BTS rabbit hole. But you have to really get deeper to really know and love BTS as us ARMY does < Fan Base for BTS> To know them and lobe them BUTTER and DYNAMITE is not where to start. Fire, No More Dream etc is how you start!! 2013 is when they began to steal hearts!!! OT7 BTS ARMY forever!!!!
This is the first video on this channel and I loved that you chose mic drop and not the recent popular ones ( i just subscribed) Bc BTS’s B-side tracks and old stuff is on another level As well as their new solo songs
The transition is very meaningful. They went from an interrogation room to a prison hall to the darkroom where photos are taken of them. BTS is always in the media and being accused for something.
You want a super good MV give Not Today a whirl. It's one of their older ones but a banging tune. On the complex end maybe Blood Sweat and Tears. Both are totally different vibes to the two you have already seen.
If you guys are fans of more of the hip hop side there is also self produced solo mixtapes and albums from every individual rapper from the group as well as the hip hop unit (3 rappers) cyphers and collabs with other western artists❤❤
You need to watch the dance practice for this .. . so good! It will show you what great dancers they are. Also, all the rappers sing very well and RM speaks excellent English. If you like rapping, react to UGH boxing ring (live during the Pandemic) or any of the Cyphers.
What do you mean they just put out random english words? Obviously you didn't read the lyrics and think it's just a shallow song. They just don't throw out non-sense words in their songs. You're underestimating their intelligence. Mind you RM is fluent in english and is considered a genius. BTS don't play around when it comes to lyricism especially RM. The xenophobia considering you are a korean yourself, what a shame. Also there's 5 of you, no one understood or paid attention to the lyrics?
I totally agree, this is very embarrassing, and I think these guys are just doing this job for interaction and population, you know. none of them are sincere
Yeah yall are definitely beginning. I came from Jimin’s who reaction and I’m glad to see you opened your minds outside of the norm. Rm said what he said there’s no miss translation there. I hope I enjoy the other videos I see from yall actually understanding them. Keep going 💯☺️😏
Guys they just started give them some time 😅but please don’t underestimate rm he is really fluent and most of them are speaking good English these days 😂the message in the song was really clear 😂😂
I know what you mean, a lot of none english speakers will throw in randowm english words because they think it's cool. But in the case of BTS (and I can see you've already been told this in other comments), there's a lot of meaning and symbolism in their lyrics (but I'm not talking about their korean songs and the songs they had part in producing and writing for themselves). RM in particular, is extemely intelligent, and basically a poet when it comes to writing lyrics. There is always depth, symbolism, and meaning (sometimes multiple meanings) in what he's written. It may be worth watching some of the explanation videos that explain the meaning and symbolism behind a lot of their songs and MVs.

It was all good and then suddenly the Korean guy commented about RM’s lyrics saying it’s random.😅 Well, maybe that’s for most of the kpop group out there. But BTS? No the lyrics are there for a reason. And if you just read the lyrics and understand what the song is all about. Lastly.. “Haters goona hate, players goona play. Live your life man. Goodluck.” Is a well known phrase too. Like why? 🤔
Hi, I don't know if you know the group well, but I see that it is their first video on the channel and I started following them. I really liked your reactions and I would like you to react to 'ON' by BTS, since it is one of my favorite songs. I hope this channel reaches a lot!
BTS has won awards in over 114 countries and the only band in the world that has played in Saudi Arabia. Requested by the prince. (Justin Bieber asked and was turned down) And what they mean by did you see my bag. They stared in Hip-hop and went on to different genres I recommend something else ........for you guys as too much American to care about another culture Which is strange because that is what America is. Also ( to the Korean boy) Do you know any Korean history? Like when their last dynasty fell ( around 1946) I won't explain more til you watch a intro vid after a few more MV's. But the country is now about 80% Christian ( 2019 states). And random words means not appropriate in a sentence. I never saw that and I am American and took a few English classes

Maybe they missed the meaning of the song....
@@giovannabenso1754 absolutely be careful of their words towards the boys or else Army are just around ☺️🫰
Nothing is random in a BTS music video. The lyrics go deep. One of the reasons why their fandom is diverse n big.
RM is fluent in English bruh that man has spoken english in UN and white house so yeah
And because of RM's proficiency in English, he does a lot of word play. For example, in Blood, Sweat and Tears, he uses the Korean word MAHNI or MANI, one of 6 word choices, for "more" in the repeated chorus, which of course sounds like MONEY!!! 😅😅😂😂
i wouldnt say fluent. But he can communicate decently.
@@ijustwannabehappier-v4973very true, as I've caught him misuse words on occasion. But he generally gets things right almost 💯 of the time!
@@nataliacoggins6769 definitely
As of today, they hold the record of most daesang wins in South Korean history with over 70
They are the biggest group in the world and are all successful soloists as well! They all are lyricists (especially RM) and producers (especially SUGA) but they all write, produce and compose to different degrees. The Rap Line - RM, SUGA & j-hope - participates more because they have more experience as they are rappers. RM and SUGA even used to make music before joining BigHit and BTS
- RM writes and produces a lot for BTS and himself. 'Intro: Persona' (BTS solo) and 'Nuts' (solo) are some of my favourites (He did too many, it's hard to recommend just a few)
- Jin: 'Moon' (BTS solo) and 'The Astronaut' (solo) are my favourites of his. He came back from his military service recently and plans on releasing an album 💜
- SUGA aka Agust D produces and writes a lot for himself and BTS but also for other artists. I'd recommend 'Haegeum' (solo) and 'Interlude: Shadow' (BTS solo)
- j-hope: he writes and produces a lot for BTS and himself. my favorites are 'More' (solo) and 'Outro: Ego' (BTS solo). Jack in the Box is my favorite album. He come back from military service in October 💜
- Jimin: 'Like Crazy' (solo) and 'Serendipity' (BTS solo) and are my favorites. His second album - 'Muse' - will be out on July 19th and 'Smeraldo Garden Marching Band' on June 28th! 💜
- V: my favorites are 'Slow Dancing' (solo), 'Inner Child' (BTS solo) and 'Blue & Grey' (BTS)
- Jung Kook: 'Begin' (BTS solo), 'Magic Shop' (BTS) and 'Standing Next to You' (solo)
their lyrics go that deep 😲
He's also known for being very articulate and for making beautiful speeches (he did a legendary speech at the UN)
SUGA is known for his raw songwriting.
J-hope headlined Lollapalooza in 2022 and it was legendary 🙌
There's often context and history about them or Korea to know to better understand what they mean. If you're interested, Doolset's lyric translation site provides good translations (useful for songs without MVs) and adds context and references. There are also a ton of explanation videos for their MVs and songs
If you want to know more about their story, there's a wonderful fan-made docu-series called 'The Rise of Bangtan'.
Preachhhh!!!!!!!
@@kuroro9949 There also is Taylor Mari's Guide to BTS that I think is really good. I love all of your suggestions.
@@kemjohnson5690 Yeah, definitely, but I think it's better when you know about the group as a whole! 💜
He's one of the main song writers of BTS,

The most ironic thing for me was that a lot of the pronouncements by these "experts" in English and songwriting seemed pretty random and disconnected to me! LMAO. I had trouble following some of their reasoning or seeing the value of some of their judgments 🤣

No, don’t even bother tell these guys about the guide…
First of all..
It’s too soon..
secondly: they don’t pay attention to the lyrics …
they’d never understand it.
We need nothing from you, not even apologies.”
Also, this song’s original lyrics are mostly in Korean.
Just saying 😌
BORAHAE 💜
all i gotta say is if ya’ll are gonna react to BTS, please pay attention to detail. the lyrics, the choreo, and the scenes in the mvs.
Forcing everyone to sing in English just to be in the American entertainment industry
Soul, South Korea, staff.
@@mikedillinger6569
BTS is not a SM group.
But like most Americans, you seem to forget that they live in a semi communist country and don’t have the freedom like you do …
The only way they were going to be accepted stated by American Award Administrators Contracts in ANY Western entertainment award ceremony… Is to start making songs in English.
@@mikedillinger6569
Sure, Jan!
You were one of a dozend maybe two dozend enployees of Big Hit in 2012./s
If you were that you would not write so much nonsense on social media - you wouldn't have the time.
Borahae🙆💜❤
PREACH
THATS RIGHT!
7 members - 3 rappers - 4 vocalists. They write and produce their music. 2 MV suggestions - Black Swan - On Kinetic Manifesto Film. These 2 will give you a bit of insight into their diversity.
Thanks Andie! We will for sure check more of them out 😎

I think it's strange that they only created this account with BTS videos.
I've seen a lot of people start making videos on RUclips, which is a pity that the only goal is Patreon. And so make money by reacting to the bts
@@daisylily9670 You're right
Alright, so I genuinely think you guys would ADORE this group.
Just snippets but it was cool 💜
we are so keen to keep going!!
They're also talking about close-minded reactors with dumb stereotypes about BTS, k-pop, and Korea 🤣
RM speaks and writes English better than some native English speakers. The man has good grasp on the English language.
Just so u know with BTS, they don't just randomly put any words or sentence in their lyrics. Everything is well thought out, put together and have a reason and it does makes sense. They are known widely for their lyrics for a reason, especially the leader RM.
One moment of Silence for The Blue shirt guy who called RM's Deep lyrics as RANDOM 😂
its just shallow rating for the clout... they are here for the clout nothing else. not the best reactors... i think i would appreciate someone who would actually put time n effort into it.
im too stunned to react fr

My biggest disappointment was the Korean guy who was the one to speak down about them, you should be proud of your country and those kpop groups because they have achieved so much more recognition globally than the so called American Pop stars you idolized.
No offense meant but you don't put out content that Army will see and not be vast in the knowledge of what you are saying.Army are very protective of BTS because they have gone through a lot before the breakthrough and will not let anyone belittle their efforts, that is not to say we don't accept constructive criticism.

There was nothing like random English in BTS song and RM is fluent in english and he add english words with all sense with meaning not cus he heard it somewhere and find it cool
And abt butter, it was released during covid to light the mood all three eng songs were released during covid with same intention cus everyone was having tough time so they thought to make song that could lift the mood just just goof on it they also released a album BE during pandemic it have lot of comforting songs
Additionally all three English singles and album BE wasn't pre planned after release of their album MOTS:7(black swan) in feb 2020 they were supposed to go on tour and after tour they have decided to do their military service but covid happened and their tour got cancelled and they decided to stay for their fans in this pandemic period instead of enlisting in military as they planned before
I'm so ashamed because I dismissed BTS on my first listen. I thankfully gave them another listen and instantly became mesmerized by their immense talent which is an understatement. They embody everything human, everything I aspire to be, kind, humble, talented, funny, sincere and so much more. I really hold them in high esteem for bravely putting their Country before themselves. I know enlisting is mandatory, but they did I with such grace and humility.
"Haters gonna hate, player gonna play" that was for your kind man. You gonna hate, RM gonna play.
Rm's English lyrics are exactly what they should be. "Hater's gonna hate" is an English idiom which he used very appropriately.

RM speaks fluent English actually.
butter was over 3 years ago.
You should see the life performance of Mic Drop from the Busan concert 2022, the best!
a live!! we will check it out
This song was for all the people who sh*t on them when they were industry underdogs.
Even after a while, this song is still insane

"Right will prevail in the end"
- He believes that justice and truth will ultimately win, suggesting that their hard work and authenticity will be recognized.
"Once upon a time Aesop's Fables fly"
- Referencing Aesop's Fables, which are known for teaching moral lessons, implying that their story will also have a meaningful lesson.
"Look at your reality, too bad"
- Telling critics to look at their own lives, implying they aren't as successful or happy.
"Even if I die now, I'm damn happy (Turn it up)"

Have a great day✌️💜
I give a 10 bc back then their production is low but BTS managed to give their 100% 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
YES! RM SINGS. Currently released album SOLO. "BTS" are at the top of KPOP MUSIC in🌎. 👍🏼🙅🏼♀️🌹✌❤🌎🇧🇷👏🏻👏🏾🔝👏🏾👏🏻🌠🤩🤘🙃😉🥰🤙👊🏼
Remember XPres. Barack Obama's mic drop? If I'm not mistaken, that mic drop on the last part was inspired by that. Just sharing 😁
just fyi 1 of the inspiration of the song came from rm viewing president obama's speech to congress & at the press corp dinner where he dropped the mic.
Stay safe. -NY USA 2019 Army💟

- Fun fact: When Suga drops the mic live it's an extra fake mic and Jin taps his mic for the sound. 🤭
- This is from the famously fandom-nicknamed "Dior performance".
- The Dior Performance of Outro: Tear is a rap line must. The song is from when they thought about disbanding and their emotions really show. 💔

fun fact, in some live performances, SUGA drops a fake mic(bc it would be crazy to drop their customized mic actually) and Jin hits his mic to create the sound of a mic dropping.

5th version (ft. Steve Aoki) more Eng
6th version (TINY TAN)
🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯 thanks for reacting to BTS.
we appreciate it!
This was meant to be part of the rap lines cypher tracks but they changed it to a group song. You will like cyphers 1, 2, 3 and 4.
This is a very mild version compared to Live Award Show and Stadium Concert performances.
i am loving this as an army!! hope you guys check it out more on their solo album as well as they r doing great even in military rn!! i cant wait for more seriously 🥺🫶🏻
lets goo! more to come
Hello guys, recomend a guide to bts members: the bangtan 7, it is small, very detailed, summary of the boys' lives, there you can learn more about them, great reaccion💜
You guys should check the video A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7
Hey thank yoiu for traveling down the BTS rabbit hole. But you have to really get deeper to really know and love BTS as us ARMY does < Fan Base for BTS> To know them and lobe them BUTTER and DYNAMITE is not where to start. Fire, No More Dream etc is how you start!! 2013 is when they began to steal hearts!!! OT7 BTS ARMY forever!!!!
This is the first video on this channel and I loved that you chose mic drop and not the recent popular ones ( i just subscribed)
Bc BTS’s B-side tracks and old stuff is on another level
As well as their new solo songs
The transition is very meaningful. They went from an interrogation room to a prison hall to the darkroom where photos are taken of them. BTS is always in the media and being accused for something.
BTS don't do Random words! Mind you!
Hi guys. You need that watching their live performance in mama awards with this music cause they killed it.
Bts is one who up lift Kpop whole industry. They are biggest boy band in the world from 2016. My bais is Taehyung💜 but we Army love all 7
What do you mean they just put out random english words?
This channel is going to be BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG,,,, So likeable guys
Trust me, nothing is ever Random with BTS!

I hope this channel reaches a lot!
some of us are brand new! we will check ON out for sure!
There's No random when it comes to BTS music!... U have to know more about them.
BTS has won awards in over 114 countries and the only band in the world that has played in Saudi Arabia. Requested by the prince.
(Justin Bieber asked and was turned down) And what they mean by did you see my bag.
They stared in Hip-hop and went on to different genres
I recommend something else ........for you guys as too much American to care about another culture
Which is strange because that is what America is.
Also ( to the Korean boy)
Do you know any Korean history?
Like when their last dynasty fell ( around 1946)
I won't explain more til you watch a intro vid after a few more MV's.
But the country is now about 80% Christian ( 2019 states).
And random words means not appropriate in a sentence. I never saw that and I am American and took a few English classes
Mic Drop was my first reaction when I became ARMY in 2019. Good luck to you guys going down the BTS rabbit hole. I'm looking forward to more.😂💜

Hey from Sydney! Welcome to kpop reactions & BTS. There are heaps of new channels cashing in on the BTS bandwagon everyday, so whilst it is an easy way in please stay respectful, respect the culture always and don't engage in fanwars or comparisons esp. as your channel grows and you eventually branch out into more idol groups. Enjoy the ride and get ready for thousands of comments, info overload and song/concert/other group suggestions! 😎
