This had been on my list for quite a while, lovely little Scottish traditional song. Really wanted to avoid over-complicating it, while still adding something a little different, and I think just having that steady piano accompaniment brings an extra touch of atmosphere to the violin part.
Thanks to the wonderful Maria Grig on violin, you can check out her stuff in the link above.
Also I've left a link to my Patreon if you feel like supporting the channel, gonna put the score for this arrangement there over the weekend.
    Enjoy!

Amazing job. Made me miss my dad, who introduced me at a young age to various types of music and song styles, including various Irish, Scottish, and "Celtic" tunes

This is so beautiful. I was feeling very stressed out but as soon as the first note hit, I closed my eyes and just drifted off to some treasured memories and completely relaxed. Thank you so much for what you guys do. It's always perfect.

Truly gorgeous! Such a lovely arrangement. From one violinist to another, thank you so much! It mended my soul a bit - which is especially needed during these times! ❤️

Beautiful. I’ve been meaning to do a duet with myself between electric guitar and piano and this is definitely giving me inspiration.

Wow...thank you so much for this beautiful arrangement which I am thrilled to be able to use as a vocal backing track.
I gotta ask, did you leave out the break between the second verse and the second chorus? @ the 2:00 mark.
It seems to go directly from:
"And the moon coming out.. in the gloamin" to
"O.. you take the high road,.. and I'll take the low" without any break and the violin seems to come back in at:
"..And I'll be in Scotland.. afore ye".
I realize this arrangement is not a vocal backing track so I mean no disrespect, and I am perfectly happy to go without a break and take the vocal solo with piano for the first line of the chorus. THANK YOU!

I definitely may have left something out yeh, it’s been a while since I’ve listened back to it!

@@Sometimespiano Not to worry, there were otherwise clear breaks in between the verses and chorus, so when I applied the same breaks I came up half way into the chorus and wondered what I did. Once I figured it out, I liked it that way just fine going directly into piano and vocal for the first two lines, and the violin joining on the third, which added some drama. Oddly enough, the violin part was appropriate accompaniment for the lyrics where it came back in mid chorus: "And I'll be in Scotland afore ye"... so I am not so sure there needed to be a break, I just expected it since it was there previously. I recorded it with my vocals for a friend on my phone, it actually came out well,... with a Tea Party recital in the castle vibe. Having listened to all of the Loch Lomond content on YT I could find, this was the only version that moved me. And in fact it was the best arrangement I found. Thank You Again!
