Made a very simple task look complicated, potentially dangerous and waffled!

Hi, i think the pull cord switch is IP rated, how ever my actual light fitting is not, i should change it really but have just not got round to doing it.

@@MrRapez Hi, that's strange having two black wires, but you can either use a vault pen like i am doing in my video, with the power of pull the two wires away from each other, and then turn the power back on, hold the vault pen next to each wire, the one that peeps on the pen is the live, or a more accurate way would be to use a Multimeter put the black lead of the meter on the earth wire on the switch, and then use the red lead to test the two black wires, the meter will show a hi reading on the live wire.

I swapped my ceiling pull cord light switch, making sure the wires were exactly the same, using photo. Now when turning light on, it turns two bedroom light on or off. The wires are three red, two twisted together, and one red in com, if the toilet light is off, the two bedrooms light's won't turn on 🤷 could it be a faulty ceiling switch? Thanks.
