My problem with most every phone available, is that 6 months later everyone's asking should you wait for the next version. I usually buy on the 3rd update. I went from 6, 12 because it was the first 5G, i will wait for the 16 or 17, non pro or Max on any version. I still rock my 2015 MacBook Pro because it still works.
I think now's the best time to upgrade, 15pro/PM has the first and fast usb-c . 16/17 will have minimal upgrade, maybe some additional AI on which they are lagging behind Samsung.
I got my iPhone 15 pro max at end of June manufactured in April 2024, like 6 battery cycles . Use a Mophie juice pack battery case and protects my iPhone 15 max.
I just put mine in a rubber baby bumper case and it looks great and works great! Paying for a good protective case is more that worth it. I didn't go overboard in a complete sealant, but it works nonetheless. I do this to all my phones. My iPhone 13 Pro Max after a couple Apple cases held up just fine in a rubber protection I paid $30 bucks on Amazon.
Given how easily JR damaged the back glass on the 15 pro max , I'd say that is a definite weaker spot , there seems to be a hollow spot behind the back glass. Compared to the 14 pro max which I own which has taken an absolute beating and still looks pristine , for me the 15 doesn't look like much of an upgrade , and I actually prefer the more utilitarian build of the 14 series , and the tiny bit of extra weight on the 14 I'm fine with. About the only thing I see as something I wouldn't mind having from the 15 on my 14 is the USB port , but it's not a big deal. No interest in the 15 series for me , I'll wait and see how the 16 series looks.

i am so glad i went with the 1TB Model of the white model to do Prores videos in 4K 60 so glad i got this phone i have going to keep it for Years to Come at least 5 to 7 years before i upgrade again the battery life is super cool and my phone is still at 100% battery life. i use my phone for video recording and playing music through it and use it for My Church Ministry I enjoyed the video keep up the good work
For me, my iPhone 15 pro max is nowhere near halfway through its life cycle. I will probably keep it until it can no longer support iOS software updates, it’s way too expensive to upgrade every year, especially here in Australia, one of the priciest countries in the world lol.

The size of the pro max iPhones doesn't cause any weight issues for me personally, the size issues come down to iOS not being "one handed friendly". I switched to the S23 Ultra last year and being able to flick down on the home screen (from anywhere on the screen) to bring down the notification and quick settings panel is really nice because this is also a big phone. On iOS you HAVE to use two hands because iOS doesn't do that. It makes you reach all the way up to the top of the screen and swipe down to get to the notification shade and quick settings panel. Also, I use the one handed mode on my S23 Ultra every single day because it's actually useful. Activating one handed mode literally just shrinks the full size of the screen down to the bottom corners and I still have access to the ENTIRE screen. Whereas on iOS one handed mode brings the screen down BUT... it cuts the screen in half! So you only get access to the top portion of the screen... What in the world am I supposed to do with that?? All I'm saying is I really hope apple implements better gestures in iOS 18 because I will be switching back to apple (regrettably) because all my friends and family use apple and not being able to use iMessage, FaceTime, and airdrop with my friends and family is extremely irritating. For them mostly... Lol not so much for me 🤦🏼♂️
I have my iPhone 15 Pro Max set to record 1080p60 by default. That's plenty for capturing memories without taking up excessive storage space. But when I am in a situation where I want to take a nice video for uploading to youtube or similar, I turn up the quality. I haven't used Pro-res yet though.
I love my 15 Pro Max, coming from an 11 Pro Max. I believe the action button should've been placed above the power button to make it feel more like a "new" button instead of on the same place as an old one, which made it less noticeable and easy to reach. It certainly is more than what I need today, but I'm that user who spend years with the same gadgets and believe the 15 Pro Max will stay with me for some 5 years at least. Thanks for the video!
Im thinking about getting the 15 pro max, I kind of want the usb-c and bigger screen, but I have a lightly scuffed 14 pro and I definitely have no issues with it, its a beautiful device I just think I would benefit a good amount from the bigger screen, pro-log footage and future proofing will make it my last iphone in a while. @@shiv1275 If you can get the S24u go for it. I had the S23u for a few weeks and have the 15pm now. Using both S24u and iPhone 15pm daily and the galaxy has a lot more to do but the iPhone camera is still better. Best option would be the phone you can afford but the S24u is the most fun right now
I've been out of the iPhone market for around 7 years, and I just picked up the 15 Pro. I'm very happy with the size of the phone. It seems like the other manufacturers make their enthusiast phones huge (there are exceptions, but I'm talking more about Samsung and Google). Happy with my choice so far. My main problem is that the screen is so scratch prone. I understand when you make the front glass more drop resistant the glass becomes more scratch resistant. But this seems insanely scratch prone.
Still rocking my 13 Pro Max, works and looks like new. Battery health is at 84% capacity, still lasts well. At this point we’re in February, no point in getting the 15 pro max now.
you made a good call. I upgraded from 13pm, basically the same phone but noticeably lighter with a few camera upgrades. battery life has been a bit worse than 13pm too. Overall it's a decent upgrade but not worth upgrading from anything above 13.
I have a mini and the 15 Pro Max. I use my mini like 90% of a time. Pro max is still too heavy with a case on. And the shots actually looks the same when taking normal photos and videos

This was my first iPhone along with the Ultra Watch 2 and it was very frustrating. I don't understand certain limitations of the software. It feels half baked. Just picked up the S24 ULTRA.
I’m using a 7 plus so it’s way time to upgrade. Thing is I’m not overjoyed with the security & rumors of changes coming with the 16 are making me hesitate. What I *really* want is two factor on the same device using two strongly personal elements. By preference, retina (unlikely) or iris (quite feasible) from front camera, fingerprint, and the current facial recognition. Two of the three would do it. With the push in gaming an increase in RAM would be a good thing too; that also is rumored and would be worth a bit of a wait. The improvements with the camera are exciting but there too rumor has it the optical zoom may increase (8X? 10X? Dunno). Less may be more-unless an intermediary optical level is still available. Your observations about digital zoom are well taken. Much to consider. Your reviews are solid from a real-world perspective and help me (and my family) ask the right questions. Much appreciation!
I don’t think you would lose anything by upgrading; depends on your expectations. For me, going from the 7 plus considering the Pro Max I’d want premier functions & I’d expect them to work. That doesn’t come cheap-okay, I can live with that *if* the product I’ve bought includes best tech at the price point. In other words, if Apple were to hold a feature back for a later year that they could just as easily have included in this model *just* to have something for the next model that would break the implied trust between manufacturer & customer. If the feature significantly increased cost, excluding it might have made sense. A long time ago when IBM only sold huge computers they weren’t always good corporate citizens (this story is one reason why they became GCC…) As such part of their systems included printers. They came at multiple speeds and they were expensive. I don’t know the exact figures but an increase from what I believe was the medium low speed to the pretty darn fast speed-same quality-doubled the monthly contracted lease price. Okay, increase value increased cost you might think. But here’s the rub: the upgrade? Some engineers come in and move a belt on the printer from one internal location to another. Ten minutes later, high speed printer. The DOJ didn’t see it that way and considered it (and similar “upgrades”) types of fraud. A massive lawsuit resulted. End result was an infamous “consent decree” that IBM operated under for decades. I know for a fact they chafed under its constraints towards the end as the computing landscape had evolved-the MS-DOS/PC-DOS debacle and the unfortunate fate of OS/2 being two examples. But corporate culture *had* changed at IBM, or so I understand… Anyway, how this relates to Apple is only as a cautionary tale. It is well known in the industry buy people by nature can be careless & reckless. I hope that Apple has better regard for their customers. Which circles back to the 15 vs. the 16. 😅
I think for the iPhone 16 there should be a 6.7 iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9 16 pro max since the plus and the pro are so close in price and the fact that you get more on the pro while sacrificing screen size. iPhone 16 6.3in iPhone 16 Plus 6.7in iPhone 16 Pro 6.7in iPhone 16 Pro Max 6.9in
How can an iPhone that just got released 6 months ago be halfway thru its life-cycle???? This makes no logical sense. I think this should be determined by iOS compatibility, and not the age of a device, especially when the device is only a few months old.
Six Months? iPhone 15 Pro Max was released in September 22nd 2023. It won't be 6 months till March 22, 2024. Try a little over 4 months since it released. The new iPhone is a good almost 8 months away from now. Time frames bro!
Titanium is really just another gray object in this gray saturated culture. So I still have my gold iPhone 13 Pro. I was going to get the 15 Pro, because I usually update every other year, but when I checked it out at an Apple store and saw it was just a ubiquitous gray thing, and not much lighter than my 13 Pro, I was disappointed. I’m hoping that the 16 Pro will give me a little bling for my bucks. Until then I’m rockin my naked and beautiful gold iPhone 13 Pro.
I went from the 13 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max and love the new iPhone. Even that being said, I didn't really have any serious complaints about my 13 Pro Max. It was still a very good iPhone.

Yeah. I'm a dude and can't stand to carry anything in my pockets. It's uncomfortable and unattractive to do so, IMHO. I have a variety of bags in different styles just for this reason. I think a man who carries bulky things in their pockets always looks like a 4yo child. I love the 15 pro max size, especially since I have larger than average sized hands.

No heat issues here bought my phone March 2nd and manufacture date December.

My screen is fine for the most part maybe a small scratch that you have to angle just right to see but if screen is on you can not see any scratches

you made a good call. I upgraded from 13pm, basically the same phone but noticeably lighter with a few camera upgrades. battery life has been a bit worse than 13pm too. Overall it's a decent upgrade but not worth upgrading from anything above 13.
I have a mini and the 15 Pro Max. I use my mini like 90% of a time. Pro max is still too heavy with a case on. And the shots actually looks the same when taking normal photos and videos
For the action button try putting something else thab a feature as easily accessibleas the camera

i got this phone and im so happy i got this phone after form the 12 pro max and i also know that the pockets is annoying but i got the pocket issues down and i lvoe the phone and i love the new 120 hrtz and other stuff and noticed that the small bezels too great phone but if ur from a 14 or even 13 prox max dont even so yeah but i lvoe the new screen the dyanmic island is fun and that old notch is gone and now its being used at least
This was my first iPhone along with the Ultra Watch 2 and it was very frustrating. I don't understand certain limitations of the software. It feels half baked. Just picked up the S24 ULTRA.

I’m using a 7 plus so it’s way time to upgrade. Thing is I’m not overjoyed with the security & rumors of changes coming with the 16 are making me hesitate. What I *really* want is two factor on the same device using two strongly personal elements. By preference, retina (unlikely) or iris (quite feasible) from front camera, fingerprint, and the current facial recognition. Two of the three would do it. With the push in gaming an increase in RAM would be a good thing too; that also is rumored and would be worth a bit of a wait.
The improvements with the camera are exciting but there too rumor has it the optical zoom may increase (8X? 10X? Dunno). Less may be more-unless an intermediary optical level is still available. Your observations about digital zoom are well taken.

I don’t think you would lose anything by upgrading; depends on your expectations. For me, going from the 7 plus considering the Pro Max I’d want premier functions & I’d expect them to work. That doesn’t come cheap-okay, I can live with that *if* the product I’ve bought includes best tech at the price point.
In other words, if Apple were to hold a feature back for a later year that they could just as easily have included in this model *just* to have something for the next model that would break the implied trust between manufacturer & customer. If the feature significantly increased cost, excluding it might have made sense.
A long time ago when IBM only sold huge computers they weren’t always good corporate citizens (this story is one reason why they became GCC…) As such part of their systems included printers. They came at multiple speeds and they were expensive. I don’t know the exact figures but an increase from what I believe was the medium low speed to the pretty darn fast speed-same quality-doubled the monthly contracted lease price. Okay, increase value increased cost you might think. But here’s the rub: the upgrade? Some engineers come in and move a belt on the printer from one internal location to another. Ten minutes later, high speed printer. The DOJ didn’t see it that way and considered it (and similar “upgrades”) types of fraud. A massive lawsuit resulted. End result was an infamous “consent decree” that IBM operated under for decades. I know for a fact they chafed under its constraints towards the end as the computing landscape had evolved-the MS-DOS/PC-DOS debacle and the unfortunate fate of OS/2 being two examples. But corporate culture *had* changed at IBM, or so I understand…
Anyway, how this relates to Apple is only as a cautionary tale. It is well known in the industry buy people by nature can be careless & reckless. I hope that Apple has better regard for their customers. Which circles back to the 15 vs. the 16. 😅

I think for the iPhone 16 there should be a 6.7 iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9 16 pro max since the plus and the pro are so close in price and the fact that you get more on the pro while sacrificing screen size.

How can an iPhone that just got released 6 months ago be halfway thru its life-cycle???? This makes no logical sense. I think this should be determined by iOS compatibility, and not the age of a device, especially when the device is only a few months old.
Six Months? iPhone 15 Pro Max was released in September 22nd 2023. It won't be 6 months till March 22, 2024. Try a little over 4 months since it released. The new iPhone is a good almost 8 months away from now. Time frames bro!
Managing my 13 pro max and waiting for 16 pro max
Titanium is really just another gray object in this gray saturated culture. So I still have my gold iPhone 13 Pro. I was going to get the 15 Pro, because I usually update every other year, but when I checked it out at an Apple store and saw it was just a ubiquitous gray thing, and not much lighter than my 13 Pro, I was disappointed. I’m hoping that the 16 Pro will give me a little bling for my bucks. Until then I’m rockin my naked and beautiful gold iPhone 13 Pro.
I went from the 13 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max and love the new iPhone. Even that being said, I didn't really have any serious complaints about my 13 Pro Max. It was still a very good iPhone.

Yeah. I'm a dude and can't stand to carry anything in my pockets. It's uncomfortable and unattractive to do so, IMHO. I have a variety of bags in different styles just for this reason. I think a man who carries bulky things in their pockets always looks like a 4yo child. I love the 15 pro max size, especially since I have larger than average sized hands.
