  • The Nancy Peak and Devil's Slide Loop is a 6.4 km loop trail located in Porongurup National Park and is one of the best day hikes in the South West region of Western Australia. Being in close proximity to the Stirling Ranges and popular trails like Bald Head, Bluff Knoll and Castle Rock Granite Skywalk, it seems this trail sometimes gets over looked a bit. The loop trail climbs 447m and provides magnificent views of the surrounding area. It's just one of the many Albany activities and one of the best things to do in Albany. If you're planning a trip down to Albany, this one is not to be missed!

Been so long since I’ve been down there… used to go every year with my dad and siblings in the 70’s and early 80’s. I miss it. It was more beautiful back then. Many many more high Karri trees and thicker lower scrub. It was so lush and rainforest-y. Moist, peaceful. The dieback and climate problems have reduced this place somewhat. I hope it can regenerate some day.

I can imagine how you feel about missing the beauty of the place as it used to be. It's sad to hear that the area has been affected by dieback and climate problems. I hope that efforts to protect and preserve the ecosystem will be successful in regenerating the area to its former glory!

Thank you Danya and Chris, again a wonderful hike with you. :) The genious idea in 3:10 shows once again that you make the most professional hiking videos for the virtual trip through Australia I am doing with my wife. At 11:00 we rewinded a few times and goosebumps each time. :D Thank you for all the efforts, we love you.

Lovely! Been to the Porongurups years ago. We walked up the Devil slide loop a very steep climb to get to the top and the view is fantastic. Would love to go again to the Porongurups when we go to Albany for a camping trip probably in the Spring time. Thanks for showing your walks, they are amazing especially when we have been there before.

Awesome videos guys! Given me some more thought into my hiking trip down there in a few weeks. Might have to skip one of the mountains in the Stirling range as this hike looks incredibly scenic!

Which mountains are your planning on tackling while in the Stirling Ranges?
Can definitely recommend this hike! We were blown away at how good it was. It may be a bit browner now that we're in the middle of summer, but should still be great either way

@@ChrisandDanya not sure exactly yet. Toolbrunup for sunrise is confirmed, then maybe 1 or 2 more as well as Nancy’s peak/devils slide now. Only have 3 days there so will just depend on how much toolbrunup takes out of me as that’ll be the first morning I think

I'm sorry we forgot to reply to this comment! Hope you enjoyed your trip down south and that Toolbrunup didn't take it out of you too much; it is definitely a challenging climb!

@@ChrisandDanya toolbrunup was definitely a challenge, especially in the dark but was worth it for the views! Excited to get home and start going through the footage 🙌

We'll have to do Toolbrunup again some day, we did it way back in 2015/16. Looking forward to seeing some of the footage 👍
