  • We take the hike through the Porongurup National Park to the striking granite outcrop of Castle Rock to the Granite Skywalk. Walking the 670 meter peak across the suspended Granite Skywalk provides some truely exhilarating 360º views across the country side. The Granite Skywalk is only 45 minutes drive from picturesque Albany or a 4.25 hour drive from Perth.
Winding through the tall Karri and Marri tree forest, the 3km return walk is not for the faint hearted as its quite physical (you may need to stop for a rest on the many large flat slabs of granite and a drink of water on they way up). You will feel your fitness level as you take on the winding track and numerous stone steps through the forest on your way to the peak. Once you reach the incredible Balancing Rock you have the choice to take in the views from the lower platforms or with a bit more effort and skill you can climb through the rocks, up a 6 meter ladder to the Granite Skywalk. An incredible steel structure drilled straight into the granite, winds its way around the massive granite dome providing epic 360º panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
The spectacular views are worth the effort it takes to get there.

Omg Cel, it is such a epic walk isn’t it. It was threatening to rain the day we went too.. it would’ve been a hard hike up the hill with little kids alright. Especially if you had to pick them up and carry.. it was hard work just walking up ourselves.. Hope you get to go back down there when the kids are older. 😀👍.

Fabulous scenery, a bit too much of a climb for us! The views from the top is unbelievable. Worth the climb for those fit enough to manage it. You have such a diverse country, stunning and so beautiful in so many ways. As always such a good choice of music sets the scene so well! Truely loved this one, it's one I would never be able to complete myself but you have given me the opportunity to see it through your eyes, thankyou.❤️ Here in UK it's the start of Wimbledon tennis fortnight, as expected of course the weather is not behaving itself. We have plenty of heavy rain and thunderstorms, just what you need when you're running an open air grass tournament! There's been some great tennis when they've been able to play. I understand Perth has tightened it's Covid regulations, let's hope that stops this awful infection in its tracks for you all. As always, take care, stay safe❤️

Hi Rosemary it was truly beautiful scenery all right. From the forest floor, the big tall trees and the rock formations and moss covered fallen trees. It had it all.. The hike up the hill had plenty of great spots to stop for a rest and a drink of water.. there was really only one tricky part where you had to climb over and between the rocks at the base of the ladder.. (there was a lower lookout for those that didn’t feel up to ascending the ladder.. which still provided great views. So typical that it has to rain for the start of Wimbledon. Such a shame.. especially considering that something like Wimbledon is just what you all need to help you back to normality. Yes, we had a snap 4 day lockdown.. which is being lifted tonight (Friday) at midnight.. still with some restrictions such a masks, 4m rule for shops etc and limited numbers and I think very small numbers prob seated at pubs etc.. Would you believe our covid restrictions were only fully lifted just over a week ago (100% capacity at all venues was allowed).. it only lasted about 4 days.. before someone coming from Sydney come over with the Delta strain.. hence the quick lockdown…. Anyway guess we will have to put up with the masks for a another week or so.. nothing to complain about I know compared to what you and the rest of the world has gone through.. Looking forward to the tennis continuing. Hope the sun comes out to play for you. Take care and stay safe and as always so great to hear from you. 😃❤️

Why dont you just say 4 and 1/4 hours instead of 4.25 hours?
    Time did not go metric!!
Or you could say quarter past four like everyone else does .
