    I have this board, currently installing it, and didn't have high expectations for hitting 8000. I actually require 64GB anyway (DCS World), so I just need the capacity and won't be missing a few hundred MHz. I like all the other features for this price point, though, and I've got a 14900k.

    CPU VDD/2 is a motherboard rail to the CPU that doesn't touch the silicone. It is rated up to 1.6V, so 1.5v daily should be fine in theory, we would have to test it long term like you said to be sure.
    But with that, my guess is Motherboard vendors are just going with what's in paper supposed to be max daily safe for vddq/TX (1.4-1.45v) and vdd2.
    It'd be interesting to see if those theoretical daily safe voltages work long term in a regular use case scenario.

    I got this board for $279 at Newegg. 8000 XMP posted without issue. However not stable for me.
    7600 XMP was stable without FAFO.
    So for the price this board is a phenomenal deal. But 8000 XMP plug n play it is not in my opinion. Still easy recommend if you don’t care about chasing bench records and just want to game.

    First of all, thanks for the video! Mine is stable at 7600Mhz also. I grabbed two different 2x16GB 8000Mhz brands and tested both, the T-Force Deltas were much better in my testing than the G.Skill, but I saw the same thing you did. 1.45V on both. At 7600, I've had it at 1.36V/1.36V and 1.18V VCCSA for the past week or so. For $280, I think it's a great board, and I don't want to whine about it, but was disappointed I couldn't get 8K XMP working stable (cooling and all).

    Got this board but didn't manage a whole lot better than on my Maximus Z790 Extreme. Actually, with my garbage SP96 14900K, even the stock settings aren't stable on the NOVA without raising LLC manually where Asus works perfectly. I got almost 7600 stable on some bootups with manual voltages and testing with Karhu and then errored on the next boot. It'll require a lot of tuning to get anywhere stable 8000 unless you already got a golden CPU. I like their BIOS a lot though. Remember that getting memory subsystem to run stable at high frequencies is just one thing in a list of things that you would want from a motherboard.

      Depends on ur gpu. I upgraded my ddr4 from 3200 cl 16 to 3600cl14 bide for 60$. Contact frame for more higher clock speeds for $1. Upgrade at the lowest cost to performance. If you have a low end gpu it’s not even worth thinking about I have 12600k and 6950xt if I oc max I can max it out on all the games I play.

      I'd say stick to 12900k until the LGA1700 is replaced unless you're not even close to matching your monitor's specs.

      @jjlw2378 9 месяцев назад +2

      Definitely not. Max out that 12900k with some B-die and enjoy gaming. I run a 13900k on a shitty Z790 Tomahawk ddr4 with 4200c15. It works fine. I've had fomo too but for me it's not worth spending $1k+ for 14900k, Apex, Hynix-A die. I'm thinking of getting a 7800x3d/b650e/Hynix A for like $600 to truly see which system I prefer. The loser will go in my son's PC. Lol.

    It's good that you're obviously reading the Overclocking Forums and learning. The only thing you should have corrected is 1.6 is not considered a "suicide voltage" Keep learning and you'll continue to grow!👍

    They’re approximately the same cost in the uk at the moment.

    No PLL tuning is pretty disappointing to be quite frank. Using 6-8 bins as described on asrock boards which translates to 90-120mv offset of any other boards helps stabilise higher mem speeds. My very cheap ASRock Z790 PG Lightning does 6800CL32-39-39-28 at 1.5v vdimm 1.35v TQ/VDD2. Going forward this is worth checking on your boards, I don't think it's "thorough" to avoid those. Still good to see it's easily stabilising 7600. 7800 should easily be on the cards with PLL tuning. Thanks for the rundown, hopefully as part of the aorus shakedown you can experiment with the PLL voltages to see the positive effects when stabilising higher mem speeds. Thanks for the video.

      I agree pll is the only reason I got 8267 stable on my apex needed a 0.3v over volt on 2 of the pll rails , I assume a better bin cpu wouldn’t need as much but for avg memory controller sp it’s almost necessary
