ETFs offer exposure to a wide range of assets, such as stocks, bonds, or commodities, which can help reduce risk. Hi there! Great video! Congrats on your achievements 😃😃 Quick question though, I'm from South Africa and would like to get my foot in the US market. Which 1 etf (for now, meaning plus minus 3 years) would you recommend: VOO, VTI or VT? (I hear SCHD is a good growth one, so I'd like to pair it with whatever etf you suggest). I'm low income and the exchange rate is too much for me but a start is a start 😃
I would say to go watch my video titled “ best vanguard index fund ETFs: VOO vs VTI vs VT”. VOO and VTI are going to be very similar in movements since they have high fund overlap. I would say VTI if you want more exposure to small caps and mid caps than VOO. Vt if you want the most diversification to every stock in the world (this includes international). Schd’s goal is NOT growth. I have many videos explaining it’s not a growth etf. If you want a growth etf, schg by Charles Schwab is a good example.
I would say dgro is as good if not better than schd. That’s why I have a higher allocation to dgro than schd. Other funds to research are Vym, VIG, and DGRW.
Let’s go, Marcos! It’s always a pleasure getting to watch your videos and gain insight on your simplified yet effective investing strategy! Congrats on the milestone with many more to come! I hope to also reach $100k in my portfolio when I turn 23 lol….still got a little over 5 years to go😂
Hey dude i am building a 3 etf portfolio i have picked Voo and Qqqm and for the 3rd slot i m confused between Vgt and Smh which one should i pick for long term investing i am 18 y/o
How I would approach this is if you have a higher conviction on semiconductor stocks (think Nvidia, AMD, etc) then choose that over VGT. If you want to be not only exposed to semis but also other high quality technology stocks in addition to semis, then go with VGT. Basically smh is going to be more concentrated to semis than VGT.
I like to first make sure my budget fits my 401k match. One that is settled I focus on maxing out the Roth IRA. (Usually you want to fully take advantage of your tax advantaged accounts). Then what’s leftover I like to throw in my taxable.
Hi Marcos.I sincerely appreciate all your hard work on these informative videos. Just confused. I'm not as savvy as you and it looks like you have more than one brokerage account regarding SCHD, DGRO & VOO. I don't know how to replicate your ETF port under the umbrella of just one brokerage account like just Vanguard. Any thoughts? Thank you!!!
Yeah so I believe everyone should have a Roth Ira first for the tax advantages than a taxable brokerage account will offer. A 401k/403b is offered by a company and depends on the company in terms of their additional benefits like a company match or a diversity of low cost funds to choose from. To replicate any portfolio under 1 umbrella. You should always do your own research and make sure a stock or etf fits your long term goals. You basically will just allocate a percentage to the ETFs you want to have more money in for the long run. So everyone’s percentage allocation is different and should be dependent on their goals. Hope this helps.
Could you do a video on ETS in certain sectors like healthcare energy, consumer staples, please sir I would greatly appreciate it. I’m wanting to do a three ETF located in consumer stable and healthcare.
Hi Marcos, Great video. Can you compare a DGRO/JEPQ dividend combination for a person in retirement with DIVB/IVVW? DGRO and DIVB provide similar returns but are based on different methodologies and I am not sure which is the better methodology. Also, how well does IVVW compare with JEPQ?
Hi Friend, I love the Vanguard reveal! I have an account there too. A question for you: why do you prefer QQQM over VGT? I just ask because I see you like Vanguard and VGT has both a lower expense ratio and a better 3-year-return (QQQM is new so we only have a shorter time frame for comparison). They are both tech / growth oriented, as you know, so I just wonder why you pick the slightly more expensive one with a lower 3-year return (11.35% QQQM vs 13.97% VGT). Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you! 😊
So qqqm is the qqq etf but not for traders. So yes the fund might only be in inception for a short time but really it’s been out since forever. I like qqqm because it is more diversified than going 100% in technology with VGT. I really really like VGT. But when I choose an etf, I consider (can I buy this for 30+ years confidently) and with qqqm it’s a yes for me. I really like VGT don’t get me wrong like I said!
If you have DGRoand SCHD in your Roth, let’s say in 10 years can you stop the dividends from reinvesting and have them go into the core account? Is that something that they do?
Yes you can, 100%. You can go into your brokerage and stop reinvesting the dividends and instead the dividend will go into your money market account (basically your cash or buying power) and you could do whatever you want with that income.
Hi Marcos! I’m pretty new to investing and have been doing a lot of research and I’ve been investing in vti/vxus, mostly vti. I recently found you and you have really inspired me to pursue this and I want to live by fire. I enjoy the growth you have in your Roth and dividend equity in your taxable. Do you think vti/qqqm/schd would be a good fit for vti or is voo a bit better, just trying to get an idea how you would match grind it were your portfolio so I can have more than 1 mindset
Hi Isaiah! VTI/VXUS is a very complete portfolio. More complete than going only VOO. You have small cap, large cap, mid cap, reits I believe in VTI, and international. If you are looking to live by fire you could go the dividend investing route where you chase higher dividend yields to live off the dividend as soon as possible (this comes with a ton of risk given dividend yield traps) but on my channel I talk only about good high dividend growth etfs like schd, vym, dgro, nobl, etc. Jepq and Jepi could be high yield covered call etfs I like as well (better than the Yieldmax etfs). SCHD would pair better to VTI due to low fund overlap. Switching from VOO from VTI won't make any real difference. They have very very similar returns and the extra diversification to VTI is minimal given the asset allocation is top weighted to the large caps. You could also live by fire by just growing your portfolio substantially through capital appreciation. Some growth etfs and broad market etfs that could do this are vti which you have, schg, qqqm, vgt, etc. Some people throw this depending on their risk tolerance and time horizon. The key to investing is time and principal. The more money you invest and the longer you invest for = highest returns.
Congratulations Marcos and may the financial and channel success continue. One question, do you think that at this time it is better to put more money in SCHD than in QQQM waiting for a significant drop to come or continue with DCA?
I wonder what your thoughts are on VGT in either a taxable brokerage account or in a Roth account. Out of all ETF's or index funds I have ever seen none has performed like VGT. Yes I realize that it carries risk due to it being completely weighted in tech stocks but like any other ETF it still seems to rebound over the long haul. Just wondering if you think this is still a fund worth investing in and at what allocation. Thanks for the great content.
100% my top choice if I didn’t own QQQM or SCHG. I love VGT. You are right in that it’s pretty correlated to the market but will have higher downsides and higher upsides. Over the long run if you’re bullish on only tech then it’s a great fund for that objective. VGT in my opinion could be argued to be as good if not better than 99.9% growth funds.
Can you do ETFs? I am a Fidelity customer but it doesn’t matter what brand what company could you do? A three front ETF in energy healthcare and consumer staples thank you, sir.
Currently no. I had an apple and Nvidia position but sold for a gain. Honestly I’m really picky about individual stocks. I like to buy when i see massive undervaluation but the last time that occurred was in the 2022 pullback. I like blue chip stocks more than anything for individual picks. Good companies that are profitable. Not new ones that just IPO
I deleted all my other channels that I have on here you are the only one that I watched and I learned from I appreciate you and your time and your effort and your knowledge
If I have 10k right now? I would still buy my etf portfolio. I had Nvidia, took gains not too long ago. If I ever go into individual stocks, I still keep it below 5% of my portfolio.
You mentioned 401k, IRA, and brokerage, but not HSA. I would suggest you max that out every year as well if your medical benefits allow you to have an HSA.
100% going to take advantage of a HSA when the time comes. Right now since I’m 23 I’m just under my parents healthcare plan. But you are completely right! It’s so important to have an HSA especially as you build it up for future medical expenses if you ever need it
@@Marcos_Milla please consider it maybe do like a two or three fun ETF and maybe a stock or two and again I know you’re not a financial advisor, but I would really appreciate the knowledge that you could do the research. You’re very intelligent person when it comes to invest, thank you sir.
So in your honest opinion isn’t now a terrible time to invest in VOO and stuff like SCHD? Because right now at this point today they all are basically at there all time high and we all know it can’t keep going up with out having to come down. Shouldn’t we just wait too invest our money when it comes down?
hey my friend. I made a video titled "Here's The BEST TIME to Buy ETFs". I really go into more depth with this question you're asking and it will answer all your question. I always DCA on a weekly basis (usually buy 2-3 times throughout the week). If the market goes down heavy in one given day, I just buy more than my usual balance I go in the week with.

Yes you can. You can turn off dividend reinvesting and it'll go into a money market account where you can transfer it anywhere you want.
Yes you can, 100%. You can go into your brokerage and stop reinvesting the dividends and instead the dividend will go into your money market account (basically your cash or buying power) and you could do whatever you want with that income.
congrats! good video! keep it up!
Thank you so much my friend !
I would personally continue to DCA. Small caps and value funds are seeing some love now.
Which ETF is the best choice for a Cyber Security Fund?
CIBR is my favorite and second favorite is iHAK

Great content and flow!
Thank you my friend!
I love watching your videos
I love reading your comments 💪🏼
Can you do ETFs? I am a Fidelity customer but it doesn’t matter what brand what company could you do? A three front ETF in energy healthcare and consumer staples thank you, sir.

S&P 500 & CHILL! 🥶💪🏻
🥶🥶🚀
Marcus do you have any single stocks
Currently no. I had an apple and Nvidia position but sold for a gain. Honestly I’m really picky about individual stocks. I like to buy when i see massive undervaluation but the last time that occurred was in the 2022 pullback. I like blue chip stocks more than anything for individual picks. Good companies that are profitable. Not new ones that just IPO
VYM, VTI for the win!

$40k in VFV, $24k XQQ, $5k HYLD and $4k SCHD
Love VFV💪🏼
Damn!!!!!!! You are doing great at your age
Thank you my friend!!!
I deleted all my other channels that I have on here you are the only one that I watched and I learned from I appreciate you and your time and your effort and your knowledge
I appreciate you my friend! There’s a lot of great content on RUclips!
Looks like SCHD is finally moving again.
👀
You don't buy Nvidia?
If u have 10 k what did u buy?
Ohh im 50 btw
If I have 10k right now? I would still buy my etf portfolio. I had Nvidia, took gains not too long ago. If I ever go into individual stocks, I still keep it below 5% of my portfolio.
You mentioned 401k, IRA, and brokerage, but not HSA. I would suggest you max that out every year as well if your medical benefits allow you to have an HSA.
100% going to take advantage of a HSA when the time comes. Right now since I’m 23 I’m just under my parents healthcare plan. But you are completely right! It’s so important to have an HSA especially as you build it up for future medical expenses if you ever need it
i am all in qld

You got 4 funds, (number 1,2,3,5) basically in the SPX,why don't you just buy SPY??
Spy is for traders. Funds like VOO, SPLG, & IVV are for long term investors

Man your lucky to have vti in a 401k
I know right. Better than the bonds
Could you do a video on ETFs and maybe some stocks thrown in there? No granted this is not financial advice but for somebody who is like 50+
Going to definitely keep this in mind!
@@Marcos_Milla please consider it maybe do like a two or three fun ETF and maybe a stock or two and again I know you’re not a financial advisor, but I would really appreciate the knowledge that you could do the research. You’re very intelligent person when it comes to invest, thank you sir.
@@Marcos_Milla thank you my broker just Fidelity
Will you ever dedicate a small % of your portfolio to individual stocks?
Yes. I had a small like 7% position to Apple and Nvidia but sold it for a good gain and put the returns back into VOO
@@Marcos_Milla cool, that’s my style of investing 💸
Marcos sell it all and put them into m3’s
oh Jesus 😭
