      How many ETFs? Probably a few too many, and I'll probably consolidate those with overlap downward into the better performers over the next few years. Even then, based on my investment objectives, I'll still have more than 3 or 4.

      You have a very valid point, I started investing on my own and for a long time, the market was really ripping me off. I decided to hire a CFA, even though I was skeptical at first, and I beat the market by more than 14.3%. I thought it was a fluke until it happened two years in a row, and so I’ve been sticking to investing via an advisor.

      That’s the problem I hate is there’s thousands and thousands of ETFs to choose from which is why my content tries to narrow it down to some of the better ones for investors to choose from. If you have a high risk tolerance snd long time horizon (5+ years at LEAST) I recommend 10+ year time horizon then I like growth ETFs. For dividends, traditionally they will have lower volatility than growth ETFs and have more well established boring companies but they do pay a very healthy dividend which can be great for those needing the income as they near retirement. I like dividend ETFs at this age as well.

    Ive been thinking of going SCHD, QQQM, VOO, and VGT. Im coming into a large sum of money and my plan is to spit it between these ETFs and add $1000 every month, mostly to SCHD, for around 20 years. At 20 years Ill start slowly putting a small percentage into a high yielding ETF, such as a SPYI equivalent, and live off of that. What are your guys thoughts?

    • @Marcos_Milla
      @Marcos_Milla  4 месяца назад

      I’d say that’s a solid plan. In 20 years when that time comes I could do research on SPYI, and maybe look into JEPI/JEPQ, maybe if we are still in a high rate environment like a treasury bond etc like SGOV. Seems like you got it going pretty good soon!

The reality is that the demand is just getting started. Only a fraction of the asset managers have been buying. Plus Hong Kong has finally approved their ETF. Now there will be retail. I did the math on growth ETFs. Growing those and converting it into dividend ETFs in retirement, are not that much different than just holding the dividend ETFs. After you sell something like QQQ and pay your tax, you’d end up with the same amount SPHD or DHS would be at later down the line. For me I don’t listen to the dividend naysayers because I’ve already worked the math out.

    I have a question, it could be dumb question but , why do people invest in dividend ETFs /stocks when growth etfs will always be outperforming over the long run and even if it goes down we can just sell some of it to pay expenses???

    • @Marcos_Milla
      @Marcos_Milla  4 месяца назад

      It all depends on people’s investing preferences. Also, some years value/dividend stocks outperform growth stocks. But yes, it’s true that most growth ETFs/stocks have outperformed over a longer period of time. Dividend ETFs are an avenue people go toward because of that predictable dividend that’s more than a growth etf would provide and usually if it’s a high quality company providing a good dividend, the dividend should increase year over year, perhaps the share price follows an uptrend when a dividend is increased, and the shareholder is left with more dividends per year and a higher return on investment. Dividend stocks are also inherently less volatile than growth stocks, hence why it could be an avenue people can get with. It all depends on goals/risk tolerances but dividend stocks I’d say are for people wanting dividends of course, high quality and reliable companies that have been around longer than some of the growth stocks in a growth etf, have predictable and successful business models, low volatility, and the potential to live off their dividend income one day and pull out less less the principal or value of their portfolio. Hope this helps!

      Hmm, I legit had a treasury bond etf like SGOV in the video but decided to cut it because I was going to go more into depth about this etf for reitrees. This is non financial advise but one etf, ehhh, depends the circumstances. Like how much money is in schd, how much do you plan to pull out from it every year, what’s your risk tolerance, what’s your long term plans with schd, etc, so so many variables. In short yes if you don’t need too much of the principal and want to live off the dividends and a touch of withdrawing from your principal and are okay with the volatility of stocks given their nature. No in my opinion if you need the money now, have a lower risk tolerance, etc. because I like SGOV as a treasury bond for low risk and currently it pays a 5%+ yield. So it Protects your money more than schd, but hey pair both maybe or choose only schd. Either or but please please please do the research💪🏼

    • @Marcos_Milla

      Most ETFs have a dividend of some kind, anywhere from 0.5% to 3.5% from the high quality ones. I’m not a huge fan of the 8-10% yields on covered call ETFs since you’ll make more money in the long run with a true quarterly paying dividend etf (DIVO being an exception). You don’t have to invest in dividend ETFs to get great returns in the long run, but is it recommended? I would say if you truly want dividend ETFs then go for it but it’s not NECESSARY. I like broad market ETFs like an S&P 500 etf VOO, VTI, VT, etc. it’s really up to you and your investing strategy !

    I lost over $70k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Natalie Strayer.

    I just transferred $1.4M into an online platform Traditional IRA holding 25% VOO, 25% VTI, 35% VGT, 15% SCHD. I hold other ETF pies that hold QQQM, DGRO, JEPI, JEPQ, SMH, XLK, SOXQ, PSI, XSD, SPYI, VIG, VUG. I put $8000 a year into the IRA with dividends reinvested and $10,000 a month into the other pies.

      @@BY-we6kx I do know VOO and VTI overlap but I wanted to invest 4000 companies instead of 500 or 3500. Plus they do have different performance returns.

      I like it but choose between VOO & VTI. Too much overlap between these two funds.
