This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800k

As a beginner, educate yourself: Learn the basics of investing and the stock market. There are many resources available online , including books, articles, and online courses. It’s a good idea to diversify your portfolio across different stocks and sectors to minimize risk. I’ve heard of people accruing over $550k during recessions and inflation, it’s important to do your own research.

This is why I've been using an investment advisor to scale up during this difficult time, and it's the only way I've been able to raise up to $150K in the last six months. It all comes down to technique. The downtrend gives you room to focus on the market and grow-substantially whether in the long or short run.

I've come to appreciate Warren Buffett's wisdom: 'The most profitable investments often fly under the radar.' My own journey has shown me that emotional biases can lead to costly mistakes. Following a lengthy divorce, I sought professional guidance to get my business back on track. Fortunately, I found an exceptional advisor who helped my assets soar from $175k to $650k, despite inflationary pressures. This experience has convinced me of the importance of seeking expert advice in achieving long-term financial growth.

Keep your focus on two primary goals. To start, protect yourself by understanding when to sell stocks to minimise losses and optimise gains. Second, prepare to profit from shifts in the market. I suggest seeking counsel from a financial consultant or other expert.

With what I’ve learned over a decade investing, given enough time, solid investments have the potential to double the initial principal amount, but many investors are instead attracted to the lure of high yields in short periods of time despite the possibility of unattractive losses before even getting out. So the onus is on newbies to beware.

When picking stocks my only advice is you buy a good cross-section of an economy and you should do well over the long term. The market will be high in 10 to 20 years, and significantly higher in 30. It's almost impossible for a company with no debt to go bankrupt. Canada is about 3% of the global marketplace, the U.S. is about 50%, and the remainder of the globe is 47%. Pay yourself first. It's time in the market, not timing the market. I find it fascinating how crypto prices can fluctuate so drastically in such a short amount of time. It's a testament to the volatility of the market and the unpredictable of investor sentiment. However, i believe that these fluctuation are simple part of the journey towards mainstream adoption and eventual stabilization. Despite the risk, i remain bullish on the potential of crypto currencies to disrupt traditional finance and usher in a new era of decentralized transactions. Recent volatility makes it impossible to predict bullish or bearish trends. And trading success depends on the pattern and signal source.

We Are in Unchartered Financial Waters! every day we encounter challenges that have become the new standard. Although we previously perceived it as a crisis, we now acknowledge it as the new normal and must adapt accordingly. Given the current economic difficulties that the country is experiencing in 2024, how can we enhance our earnings during this period of adjustment? I cannot let my $680,000 savings vanish after putting in so much effort to accumulate them.

I rebalanced my portfolio at the end of 2022. I loaded up on Netflix, Meta and NVDA when they were heavily hit. Bought TSLA too but not as much as I had hoped (kinda got greedy). With the recent bounce back as of of 1st week of Feb, I’m actually up 3% vs -20% that I had a month ago. If you see opportunities in single stocks don’t be afraid to take them. Strong names usually bounce back.

@@jeffl8549 sold NVDA at 300 and beat myself up until I manned up and bought back in at 460. Moral of story is you make real money by going big when you have real conviction. I also use options to hedge my positions as they are more volatile than the market.

Yes, your intuition is correct. I am 30 plus years older than you and you absolutely should put more into the index funds and make them the core. Buy individual stocks to create alpha and then slowly sell and fund the indexes as the years roll by. Try and find stocks you can hold for at least 10 years. Market cycles are long and you have to be patient. Sell the shit coin. It is worthless.

I agree with you 1000%, best comment in the whole section. If you purchase an individual stock, it have to tick minimum two boxes: great value (low entry point) and great company (Humphrey bought many great companies, but at bad market prices ) Otherwise stay out of stocks and better purchase ETF for the long run.

I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Brooke Miller.

At the beginning of the year, I increased my stock purchases somewhat, but not much. Why am I being so hard on this? Even if others in my sector make six figures apiece, I still want to be the first person in my polygamous family to earn a million dollars. I understand exactly what it costs to work harder in order to make more money.

If the market has taught me anything, it's that it usually makes a comeback, but I can't seem to concentrate on the long term, especially because important things like my retirement and my reserve are having a disastrous impact on inflation. I need a solution and a data trajectory that I can trust as soon as it is practicable.
