Amen. I went in at 1cm at 3pm. was induced and progressed to a 4.5 and got my epidural around 2:30 pm. So it took me 23 hrs to go 3.5cm. My pelvis does not move.
I’m a mother of 5 who has had an epidural for every labor and I can confirm they definitely facilitate labor! Im also in nursing school with interest in obstetrics/NICU/PICU!!
As a nurse, I have so much respect for anesthesiologists, especially women in the field. You have to be on the ball constantly and must have so much knowledge. Definitely , an anesthesiologist is the most important person in the room.
I was 35 in May 2020 in labor for 33 hours and emergency c section. My only kid never doing that again lol but my anesthesiologist was an angel named Katie. She never left my side after that last concoction before the OR. She did my epidural 24 hours before this too. I completely agree with you! Nurses are amazing but anesthesiologist are a different breed. Her being a woman also helped me. Covid hit my 7th month pregnant so I was a nervous wreck from the moment my water broke at home lol
I absolutely agree. I wanted to say that but I'm always afraid other influencers will think I'm demeaning them, but I absolutely agree with you. It's so different and refreshing!
My daughter watches your videos, she wants to be a anesthesiologist when she gets older. She is currently 10 and loves helping people and studying anatomy.
You have a very diverse channel. One day we’re at the ranch, the next in the hospital, then playing with Harper, next sharing your excitement over a new bag. I LOVE it. Never a dull moment!
You "guys" are amazing! My OB was great, but she wasn't focused on me during my delivery (C-Section). My anesthesiologist sat by my head (naturally) and as I started to feel like I was going to get sick, she saw it almost the same time I started to feel that way. "I'll give you something for that, dear. Just enjoy this moment". I didn't even say a word to her! I have no idea how she knew but she was just amazing and made everything go so smoothly.
I would love to see a video about your relationship with your CRNA's. Just what your responsibilities are and what theirs are. I am currently a nursing student considering becoming a CRNA and would really like some insight to what the responsibilities are. Love your channel!
Kristina could you please please do a medical minute video discussing the relationship between CRNAs and anesthesiologists. I am a ICU RN and I am considering applying to CRNA school. I would love to hear how you and your CRNAS work together, and how MDs view CRNAS. THANK YOU!
I am loving the variety of the content you put on youtube. Just make sure you don't burn yourself out. It's clear how much effort you put into making your videos and it is very appreciated xx
I actually was not able to progress in my labor until I got an epidural and was able to take a nap. I had been stuck at 4cms for hoouuursss. When I woke up from my nap I was 10cms and ready to push!! Yay for epidurals!!!
Loved the vlog. I’ve been a nurse for 10 years and I am thinking about going to medical school. It is really nice to see a day in the life of an anesthesiologist.
Keep making these videos. They are so interesting. My son is actually in D.O. school, 3rd year, and is planning to be an anesthesiologist so I’m loving seeing your experiences.
I had an emergency D&C right after my completely natural delivery and I'm so grateful for my anesthesiologist. She was so patient, kind, and informative. I hate needles and had no desire to get an epidural so it was great having her.
I'm not sure if you're still reading comments almost a year later but I stumbled across your channel because I was watching videos around Louis Vuitton... I'm about to subscribe but separate from that my niece who was only 9 months old last year had open heart surgery and I just have this newfound respect for doctors, surgeons, and anesthesiologist and all of the medical professionals that contribute 2 making little babies and the rest of us healthy again ... they did an amazing job and my baby niece a healthy little girl again I just want to say thank you and you guy's freakin rock!!
I absolutely love this video. I’m very interested in becoming anesthesiologist. If you haven’t already did a video, can you explain your journey to medical school, experience in medical school and residency. Also your experience in anesthesiologist school. I love the videos. Keep them coming ❤️
You’re such a great Dr and I’m sure your colleagues love working with you! As a nurse, I really appreciate when physicians are easy to work with and trust the staff. It makes our jobs a lot easier. One of my favorite places to work was the ER. Most of the staff would do things together outside of the hospital. Baseball games, restaurants, bars (lol). Was a great group of folks and we all worked together better because of it... 😁
I've had surgeries throughout my entire life, and in my experience, I'd definitely agree with Dr Braly, that the better anesthesiologists are the capable, relaxed ones.
I love the variety of content on your channel. Thank you for taking us along with you. I’m a nicu nurse so I see anesthesiologists when we get called to c/s so it’s interesting to see what your day in l&d is like.
I really enjoyed this Kristina!! I had an epidural with the birth of my two daughters and it helped make my experience so much easier. I know this is just one of the areas you work as an anesthesiologist but having been through it I found it interesting to see it from the other side. Thanks for all you do to help others in their time of need. I think you are a ROCKSTAR!!
Amazing! My husband has 8 more months of CRNA school here at Mayo Clinic. Surprisingly this video popped on my RUclips and was wondering the cool stuff Anesthesiologist do. My husband always tell me how nice the Anesthesiologist he works with. Love this video!
I know im a year late seeing this video, but I just recently stumbled across your channel while watching Mama Dr. Jones's channel. But I just have to say, I wanted to be an anesthesiologist for so long & got discouraged because of schooling & being a mom of a 1.5 year old, but watching your videos has made me fall in love with it all over again & motivate me to actually do it, so thank you. 🖤 Editing to say, I went over 24 hours without progressing past 1 cm, but after I got my epidural, I was able to relax & progressed to a 4. I still ended up needing a c-section but the epidural definitely helped my labor. Not hinder it.
How I wish I had gotten an epidural during my three deliveries. They were a long time ago and I was afraid of getting a spinal headache. Natural childbirth, in my opinion, is really not necessary. I did it but it was not easy. Get the medicine, if you can. Keep up your great work, Dr. Braly.
I love the iv comparison example! I had a spinal for my knee surgery in November and didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t think it hurt at all. My anesthesiologist came to check on me in the pacu and told me how surprised she was that I didn’t flinch and that people were ready to hold me still if I tried to jump off the table😂 Guess children’s hospitals are used to that, although that’s the last thing you should do with a needle in your spine! Thanks for educating people, I think a lot of expecting moms or people anticipating an epidural or spinal will take comfort from this.
I absolutely love seeing what your day consists of as an anesthesiologist! Please continue to share these types of videos, very educational and inspirational. You’re awesome!
These are so inspiring to me! I definitely needed the encouragement right now. I'm just starting my journey to become an anesthesiologist and I keep hearing about how stressful it is and how miserable people found it, but this is giving me hope that I'll do well and enjoy it!
I love when I see REAL LIFE happening in videos!!!! We can’t all eat perfect all of the time bc real life isn’t perfect. You did your best with what you had. It’s ok girlfran! 😘 And I actually wanted to eat it!!! 😂
I just want to be like you so bad, I would give anything in the world to be a anesthesiologist.. I’m 23 right now and my world is crashing down, I just don’t want to give up because people like you show me there might be some type of hope out there.. thank you for giving me inspiration
My epidural with my first was ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. The anesthesiologist missed my spine 3 times.. took the catheter in and out multiple times.. I threw up on the nurse who was trying to keep me calm. It was an absolute mess.. luckily my second was a c section ( at the same hospital ) and it was someone else. I told him about what happened the last time and he assured me it wouldn’t happen again. I got an epidural and a spinal tap. It was done within 5 minutes.. I was thanking him until my surgery started lol.. bless you.. have a good day.
I’m so impressed! I Have a question. Do they teach you those leadership and relational skills in medical school? Curious if you are a born leader or a learned leader. You having awareness of great people skills and communication is so incredibly important and so appreciated. Thank you for your craft, calling, and service❤️❤️❤️
Hi from Pisa Italy. I wish you were my anesthesiologist when I had a c-section a year ago to give birth to my son. It took her about 30 min and I don’t know if it’s normal, but I started to have back pains every now and then. I love watchin’ your videos ❤️
Currently in CRNA school. I love my MDA’s. I have only seen great relationships between the two professions in my different clinical rotation sites. The site I’m currently at employees only CRNA’s.. not sure if that would be something I would want to do someday, but the experience has been great!
Mikaela Peters glad it’s not just me! I was so scared I went without 😂 people who get epidurals are superhuman to me!! Thankfully my labor was great. She said it’s not worse than an IV I was like yeah nope I’ll never be able to do that I hate them too. Best of luck on your delivery!!!
I legit cried when they were about to administer my epidural 🤣 the anesthesiologist was like 😳 but then he calmed me down and my nurse was amazing as well. I have scoliosis and he got it in 1st try! He was my new best friend after that lol
I CAN NOT BELIEVE you filmed this on a phone, let alone a Samsung and it looks THIS GOOD!! Pleaseee make a video on this phone so I know if I need to switch from Apple. 😅 And thanks for sharing!! I love the insight these videos give me as a pre med into the life of a doctor. ❤️
I have 3 children, and had epidural with all 3. With the first 2, it took them about 10-15 minutes to put in the epidural (I have scoliosis), but the THIRD, let me tell you about the third... That anestesiologist... He got that thing in my back INBETWEEN a contraction. I swear, it took him a minute, and there were no problems. AMAZING. the first one took the longest, because that's when we found out about the scoliosis, and it was a resident that did it. The second one took a little less time, but went off to the left a bit, so only half of me was numbed, and it needed to be pulled up a little to fix it, but THE THIRD. Flawless! I think I told the doctor 50 times in the span of 50 seconds how good he was, I may have even told him I loved him (I don't know, I was in labour. We all say crazy things when we're in labour). I hope he sees this. He works at the IWK... If he does see this YOU ARE SO, SO, SO, SO GOOD AT YOUR JOB
Please do more Day in the life of an Anesthesiologist. I’m a senior in high school and I’m really thinking about becoming one, and your Channel has really helped me make that decision❤️
During my second epidural I had the same tingle/ shock down my leg and was so scared for my next one. My anesthesiologist was so good about making sure it wasn’t as bad this time. It started but he moved something and it went away. BTW. In my experiences, anesthesiologists are the most gentle and kind doctors I’ve ever had. Amazing bedside manner!!
I love the diversity of your channel. You touch so many people from different walks of life. Thank you for being so honest, even when you know that you will get backlash you stay true to yourself and what you believe. I appreciate that and that’s why I love your channel. ❤️❤️ Oh btw.. such a great intro, so many memories that truly represents you. 🌸
I really like that you do so many different types of videos....beauty, medical, tech, handbags and home life...thank you for sharing and have a wonderful week.
Even though the person who gave me my first epidural screwed up and I ended up getting another (and then a c section) I so appreciate what you do. My epidurals didn’t hurt at all and she was the one sitting next to me during my c section. Honestly my IV hurt 100 times worse then my epidurals
Great video, Kristina. Thank you for sharing your day with us. You're awesome and love that you give a patient something else so they don't have to feel the burn as much!! xoxo
I really do like these videos, for many reasons, not least of all is to have the inside info from a professional explained in a way that is comprehensible.
I just found your channel!! I have to say I love anesthesiologists!! :) I suffer with chronic severe sciatic pain in both legs and lower back. I've had 3 invasive surgeries. Recently, I was referred to a group of anesthesiologists that specialize in brain and spinal pain. Yay, finally Drs that can help me manage the pain with caudal epidurals!! Just wanted to give a shout out...to my now...favorite Drs. !! :)
I wish I had you as my anesthesiologist during my c section. My anesthesiologist made me feel like I was dramatic and an inconvenience when I couldn't stop shaking and calm down during the c section and he was unable to get a BP on me.
Thought this was really interesting. I started typing a question and you actually addressed it towards the end. You read my mind. Wasn’t sure if an epidural and c-section epidural were different. Thanks for sharing!
Kristina Braly thank you so much! If I can make it to Wednesday I’ll be scheduling an induction for Friday!! Super nerve wrecking but still super excited!!
I’m a CRNA-I don’t feel bad about what I put in my lunch sac after seeing yours!! I wouldn’t need anything else if I had that box of Girl Scout thin mints-they’re the best!! Those will get you through a long day.......
Oh my gosh!!!! There’s something to get rid of the lidocaine burn!!!!🤯🤯🤯 I ALWAYS refuse the lidocaine because for me it hurts worse than the IV/needle itself. That’s so awesome that you do that for patients❣️
I’m an OBGYN and THANK YOU for sharing that epidurals DON’T slow labor down! Amen!
Lauren Runnels thank you to both of you ladies! Eye opener! There is definitely a misconception on that in our own healthcare providers (Nurse here).
Amen. I went in at 1cm at 3pm. was induced and progressed to a 4.5 and got my epidural around 2:30 pm. So it took me 23 hrs to go 3.5cm. My pelvis does not move.
My nurse said my epidural was why I stalled on dilating and my contractions stalled down
I’m a mother of 5 who has had an epidural for every labor and I can confirm they definitely facilitate labor! Im also in nursing school with interest in obstetrics/NICU/PICU!!
Rosella Smith I do not agree with that at all!
How did you get through 12 years of schooling/residency? Props to you! Go girl!
As a nurse, I have so much respect for anesthesiologists, especially women in the field. You have to be on the ball constantly and must have so much knowledge. Definitely , an anesthesiologist is the most important person in the room.

I love the fact that you are an educated person on RUclips.
Love the variety of content .
Love this series are you are relatable and educated.
I absolutely agree. I wanted to say that but I'm always afraid other influencers will think I'm demeaning them, but I absolutely agree with you. It's so different and refreshing!
My daughter watches your videos, she wants to be a anesthesiologist when she gets older. She is currently 10 and loves helping people and studying anatomy.
that’s amazing
Anatomy is tough, but it's so interesting 😂
Seriously, I just think you are so cool. If no one has said before you are definitely an inspiration!
Isnt she?? I mean mom, wife and a kick ass dr. Shes in her early 30s!! So awesome to watch
@@krystelorr1991 Exactly! 😎
You have a very diverse channel. One day we’re at the ranch, the next in the hospital, then playing with Harper, next sharing your excitement over a new bag. I LOVE it. Never a dull moment!

That's wonderful ^_^

Awesome! If/when I get to have kids I already told the hubby I'm getting an epidural lol
I cried and hugged my anesthesiologist who came to give me the epidural when I unintentionally dilated to a 9. You do special work!
Loved the vlog. I’ve been a nurse for 10 years and I am thinking about going to medical school. It is really nice to see a day in the life of an anesthesiologist.

Headed to Medical School!! Anesthesia is my dream; it's fascinates me so much. Can't wait to follow your channel! You rock
the thin mints made me laugh out loud, but i started laughing even harder when you said “why am i even showing you guys this i’m embarrassed!” 😂😂😂😂
I’m a Labor and delivery nurse and thank you for the education you are providing to new moms further moms and the general population!
I am an RN and love seeing it from a physcians perspective!
Wife/Mom AND Dog Mom, THANK YOU for acknowledging Dog Moms and separating the two. Another fantastic video, Dr. Braly! Thank you so much!
LOVE your lunch bag & lunch! 🤣 These videos are some of my favorites!
When I worked L&D I loved our anesthesiologists and CRNA’s

You are an epitome of a perfect wife, mom and a successful career woman 🤩 I am truly inspired by you ! Love your chanel, Kristina 🥰
The fact that you are shooting this video on a "Samsung galaxy S10 plus" is amazing!!!!
Make more day in the life. I love hearing about the anesthesia aspect of your job.
I love that you said « them » when you were talking about the c-section patient! ❤️
I really enjoyed this Kristina!! I had an epidural with the birth of my two daughters and it helped make my experience so much easier. I know this is just one of the areas you work as an anesthesiologist but having been through it I found it interesting to see it from the other side. Medical Assistant here and I just love your medical vlogs
I don’t know why but I thought that phone was a bar of soap 🧼 🤣🤣 loved the video 😊
we add sodium bicarb for our thyroid biopsies and patients never feel a thing :) love these kind of vlogs dr. braly!!
Yes that's it!! I knew someone would guess it! xx
samantha lakin where were you when I had mine done?! 😏🤣
Kristina, your videos are always so professional and entertaining. My favorite RUclipsr by far!!!!
I was an OB RN for 10 years and I have enjoyed your videos BUT absolutely loved this one today... Thanks for being a devoted anesthesiologist!!!
Editing to say, I went over 24 hours without progressing past 1 cm, but after I got my epidural, I was able to relax & progressed to a 4.
Great video. I have had 3 epidurals, thank goodness for drugs and anesthesiologists!!!
I absolutely love seeing what your day consists of as an anesthesiologist! Please continue to share these types of videos, very educational and inspirational. You’re awesome!
I love how you don’t just introduce yourself as an anesthesiologist so we know you’re more than your profession
I’m so so happy I found your channel!! I’m 14 years old & I’ve wanted to become an anesthesiologist since I was 8! 💛
I am planning on becoming an anesthesiologist, so this channel and series is super informative!! Thank you for making these videos!!
SO NO ONES GOING TO TALK ABOUT HOW PREETY HER EYES ARE
Right? They're mesmerizing!!!
Love that I found your channel right before applying to medical school. ❤️
I just love these day in the life’s because I think the medicine world is so interesting, thanks so much for sharing!!

These are. So informative! Please never stop doing them!
Oh my goodness I want to have my baby in Texas so you can administer my epidural 😂 I’m so terrified

I love these types of videos! Even though I'm not a doctor, they are so so interesting to me!
Please do more Day in the life of an Anesthesiologist. I’m a senior in high school and I’m really thinking about becoming one, and your Channel has really helped me make that decision❤️
I’m loving this. I’m sitting over here like a proud internet friend. Lol!
Thank you for sharing this video with us! I’m an RN but I’ve always been interested in pursuing CRNA!

I agree. Changing it up is great. We never know what's coming next but it's always interesting , entertaining and cute.
1:29 someone really said her phone looked like a bar of soap and now i’m dying i can’t unsee it 🤣🤣🤣🙈🙈
so awesome! Not in Medicine but was interesting to see!

I would love more videos like this! I love them thinking of changing my path in college from Physician Assistant to Med school!
You should do a video on your path through med school and residency and all that fun stuff! Love your videos!!
Working with pregnant patients seems extra stressful. Nice vlog!
Adnan A - I seriously see you everywhere. 🤷🏼♀️
Love seeing and hearing about your day🌸
Great video, Kristina. Thank you for sharing your day with us. You're awesome and love that you give a patient something else so they don't have to feel the burn as much!! xoxo
Imagine being a beautiful woman , anesthesiologist, makeup artist, wonderful mom and wife
Easy
I really do like these videos, for many reasons, not least of all is to have the inside info from a professional explained in a way that is comprehensible.
I love these videos, please keep them coming. I love learning and seeing what you do everyday.
This is so awesome!!!! This is such a spin to the content many of us are used to seeing here. I love it!
Would love to see a video helping people who are afraid of going to the doctor/hospital.
Plus the quality is pretty amazing and kind of surprising that it’s from a phone!
Kind of made me miss my “working mom” days... #SAHM 💙💙 You are amazing! ❌⭕️
Love, love, looooooove these 'A day in the life' videos!
I love the medical vlogs that you create Dr. Braly. KEEP THEM COMING
Loved this video, I’m a pre-pa student in undergrad so I love day in the lives from medical professionals!
Another awesome video! Thx, Dr. Braly!
I love watching luxury and vlogs, but these anesthesiologist videos are like my fav 🤷♀️ so interesting!!
Hippa Schmippa. I totally wish I could be a fly on your shoulder to know more about each case. I’m such a nerd. 😂
Today’s my due dateee 🤗, loved this video! Hopefully my anesthesiologists is as amazing as you are!
Congrats Bree and hope baby comes soon and safely for you!!
I love your day-at-work videos. It’s cool being behind-the-scene of childbirth.
The physician perspective was very interesting :) you seem like such a knowledgeable and kind MD 💗
Oh my gosh!!!! There’s something to get rid of the lidocaine burn!!!!🤯🤯🤯 I ALWAYS refuse the lidocaine because for me it hurts worse than the IV/needle itself. That’s so awesome that you do that for patients❣️
Excellent choice of content to put up on RUclips. I’m sure you are an inspiration for a lot of people! Congratulations 🤗🙌🏻
