Not even close to a hero. I haven’t even done anything useful yet. But when the time comes I want to be there. It’s why i’ve elected to keep working while others have smartly decided to stay home (they are older, or who have immune compromised family members).

It's really interesting seeing how different countries, hospitals, are handling this situation. My sister is a community nurse and she just got her PPE. She texted us crying in relief that she can treat her patients with protection. Please stay safe! All of you frontline workers stay safe. Bless you all!

Animal crossing has been a blessing during this time! I have been working 3-11s so I come home, shower and then play and it just gets your mind off of work and the chaos! The other night, while I was wishing on a star, a tarantula took me out - I was laughing so hard that it woke my dog up!

Thank you so much for risking catching the virus and continuing to go about your job, along with all the other people around the globe who are doing the same. Every week in the UK, we are going to clap for our NHS (national healthcare service) staff at 8 o'clock. We first did it last Thursday. It is so nice to see the streets coming out if their homes to appriciate the people who I feel are very much under appreciated. So, thank you everyone who is doing their part.

I love this idea! I live in Michigan, in the US, and we have the third highest amount of COVID 19 deaths in the United States. Clearly, we have asymptomatic positive people not yet tested. I am so glad for people who are working in public. We have been in lock down since the last week of March, and had been in partial shutdown since way before the rest of the US.

Just want to give a shout out to all the GCs who jumped in immediately to help their hospital clients build ante rooms, isolation rooms, redirect air flow, etc. literally in days. When you said 'They were sold out everywhere' I thought you were going to say the giveaway was a Costco pack of TP! lol I'm a retired clinical pharmacist. They're asking for retirees to go back to work, but after being retired for 6 years, I've forgotten so much, it wouldn't be safe. My age puts me in a high risk group so just not a good idea. I do feel bad for my colleagues who have to work. Do you think if it gets bad enough, they would "repurpose" you to care for intubated patients in the ICU?

As the world battles COVID-19, several theories about its existence and its origin are doing the rounds. One of them is about how it spread and it was from a leak from a Wuhan lab, an experiment that went wrong many say → the work I cited from is discussing MERS Corona Virus origins; CFR well over 0.50

Kristina , Thank You for all you do !! My 19 year old daughter is a Patient Care Tech in ICU working Night Shifts while in ICU ... what an experience for her within her first year studying Nursing to be witnessing all of this on the frontlines in ICU ... I never could imagined & I 🙏🏻 they are providing her with all the necessary PPE while working on these COVID-19 patients ... she was fitted and now has an N95 mask , but has to place a cloth mask over it to make the N95 last as long as possible.... I’m sure this experience, as well as being in the ICU , will help her tremendously through her Nursing Schooling & beyond if she chooses to go further !! Love you videos & content!! Stay Healthy& Safe 🥰😘❤️

Thank you for all you do. I work in an OB/GYN and it's nerve racking just how little many of our patients and fellow medical staff care about exposure risk. Many lie about being symptomatic or exposed to COVID patients at screening to enter the hospital and then are honest with our staff in the exam room. 😱
We've begun the same PPE protocol and brown bags for processing. We've also implemented using a cloth mask over our 3 ply face mask to extend wearability as we are so limited in supply. Thanks to your videos in the beginning of all this I started the same home precautions and have shared with our office and now all the employees do the same. Keep safe and doing what you do. You're so appreciated.

I just delivered my daughter on 03-31 by C-Section. While some things were obviously different, I’m grateful in the long run. Less visitors= less stress, more bonding time for Me, Daddy and Baby. All great things considering C-Sections are already difficult to deal with and heal from, even moreso when you have limited amounts of healthcare workers who can provide care postpartum.

  • @remihart4731

As a Nurse in Chicago, its very surreal to watch this a little over a month later, the video before the CDC recommended as of May 1st at least here in Illinois, that everyone must wear a mask in public. A lot of us are wearing three masks all day long 12 plus hours at work here, as of mandated by the hospital I work at, one being N95, and two 3 ply masks over the N95. I can't imagine the fear of risk for you as well as it is for us Nurses, as you are such an important part of our team for COVID-19 patients. As we are all part of a huge team, I feel like Anesthesia and Respiratory Therapists, as well are at so much risk here, we all are. I will keep you in my thoughts through this time. I have been subscribed to your channel for some time and I love it.

A group of Health Care Professionals that are not being recognized as much as they deserve are Respiratory Therapist. RTs are vital front line workers. They intubate, place the patient on the ventilator, and maintain the vent from that point. That means determining proper settings to meet the patient's pulmonary demands. Not only do they intubate, but they suction patients multiple times during a shift. These are just a few of the RT's responsibilities. Doctors and Nurses will tell you they rely heavily on their RTs, but yet in general with Covid-19 they are rarely mentioned. Shout out to Respiratory Therapist!! Yes, I'm a proud RT!

We too are wearing masks anytime you’re on hospital property and my gosh YOU CANT BREATHE IN THOSE THINGS!

She had a fellow co-worker who's father was able to source PPE from Germany and personally paid for it to be delivered to her unit since they were getting dangerously low on supplies. hi! im a cvicu nurse. commenting late but covid is still very prevalent.. we use the plexiglass box to intubate, we use PAPRs when going in rooms, we have made tiny "covid code" boxes that have common meds for codes because we cant get the big crash carts into rooms, and we have made my entire unit into makeshift negative pressure rooms using hepa filters.. unfortunately our regular ORs are not negative pressure so on my ICU unit, we have made a patient room into an operating room for ANY surgeries with a suspected covid patient so that the other ORs stay unseen by any covid particles. we have even delivered two babies via C-section on my icu unit in the "OR" patient room because the patients were covid+ and were unable to safely carry the baby... scary stuff still happening. stay safe folks.

Between all of the information you are providing and all of the other lighthearted content you have, you have really been helping get me through this. I know everyone is having a hard time right now, but it’s been rough. So thank you 💚

Air being recycled; IS THAT WHY OR’s ARE SO COLD!? 😂

haha well no, it isn’t why it’s so cold but it definitely helps keep it that way! the OR’s are set to 65-66 degrees for infection/humidity/mold prevention!

Thank you for doing these videos, I find it really helpful to see what's actually happening in hospitals, it helps me worry less because it's not an unknown any more. You explain things really well and it's reassuring without feeling like you're sugar-coating. Thank you :)

Thank you so much for all of the work you do. I know those laboring mothers were so happy to hear that you were available to work and help them through this scary time to give birth. I have been loving animal crossing so much and find it to be a wonderful escape and I hope the switch goes to someone who will love it so much ❤️

I’m an RN on labor and delivery and our census is way down since we have cancelled all of our elective cases and I think patients aren’t coming to the hospital unless they are absolutely in labor. We aren’t using oxygen for mom anymore to improve fetal tracings but can use a nasal cannula to improve mom’s sats. We are also still allowing one support person

It's surreal now, but once the patients hit, it's a stress out of this world - and... will be so much sadness. There is a lot of the same type training here in Norway as well. And still, the storm hasn't come here either, yet. So yeah, surreal. But a good thing to be prepared, trained, taking the whole aerosols situation seriously. And also, good thing to take washing extra seriously. Scary thing is you might not know until a week - two weeks later that you've been infected, and in the meanwhile you might infect others.

The CDC has now changed its stance on mask wearing. On April 3, they sent out recommendations saying that everyone should wear a mask when stepping outside of their home.

Dentist here! I’m curious and would love if you would address in a video what your opinion is on when we will start to resume some normalcy in healthcare and just our everyday lives/what you think our new normal will look like in professions that are high risk for aerosolization. Thank you!! Love your channel ❤️

First off thank you and all the medical and hospital staff risking their lives daily to protect and save our lives. You all are greatly appreciated.
I have a question out of curiosity. I've had multiple surgeries for my cleft lip. I understand how they insert the tool into you throat then the tube to help you breathe. Now my question comes in when they have to work on the mouth how is the patient assisted with breathing since the tube would be in the way? I'm curious.

I have had a few emails over the years and you are always the fist RUclips subscriber I subscribe too. I haven't won anything yet, but man you are talking up my alley now. I so want this one especially if it the Anmial Crossing color one. I am usually an Xbox girl but I want this to play Animal Cross and some old school Mario.
