John's brilliance is obvious, but really come on, the true greatness comes out when it is balanced out with the equal brilliance of Flea, Chad, and Anthony. The four of you as one musical entity is one of the greatest things this planet has ever seen.
Disagree, I dont find Anthony great at all, I really think he's just the "band personality" but nothing else, after stadium arcadium his singing is more like a popstar than a true rock legend, like he was. Nothing against him but I just dont like him anymore.
Anthony writes some amazing lyrics, and he is singing as well as ever. He can do some much more than the style on Freaky Styley. His vocals on BTW and Stadium are so heartfelt and fun, and there is no way they make it into the RRHOF and become a household name without him.
Vince Hernandez I agree with you, but I never take Frusciante’s obvious brilliance for granted. He is truly remarkable, his musicality, guitar playing, vocals, his writing - in 8 years he has developed into an astonishingly great artist and human being. There is nothing he isn’t capable of, in my view. The others are great also, but this IEM demonstrates a versatility that isn’t present in the others on or off stage. It’s like he is at least 3 people rolled into one. Why they let him escape is one thing I’ll never understand. If they’d hung onto him, the band would have become untouchable by this point in time (2018) perhaps even superseding The Beatles’ revolutionary contribution to music. They should have hung on to (part of) him, at any cost. Yes he wanted to do his own thing, but he’s always done his own thing anyway while in the band. By letting him go so easily, they sacrificed their potential and future development as the greatest band that ever existed. Am I exaggerating? What do you think? Personally I think they need to overcome their differences and negotiate his return, ASAP before we all get too old. To not do so is a crime. There has to be someone, a mutual friend perhaps, who can broker this, who has the skills and power of persuasion? We need Frusciante for just a few years more, then he can return to his private existence. Call it a service to humanity, if you will; an obligation to make the world a better place. I think he’d go for it.
This IEM recording is a revelation; it takes my love and admiration for Frusciante to another level 💛 Listen to 04:02 onwards - it’s astonishing how brilliant this man is
Frusciante te amo, minha inspiração ,de longe meu músico preferido, alegrou meus dias , agradeço ao universo por existirem pessoas igual a você , love you Frusciante.
Depends on which style of sound you prefer. A particular consistent feature of Chad´s playing over the years is that he tends to control a lot more the dynamics of the notes when he records in the studio and frequently loses it live, hitting a lot harder and improvising some fills which in the studio were worked out previously. Therefore if you are more into precision, brains and control you would probably find more suitable the studio versions; but if you are more into blood and guts playing beating the hell out of the drums you definitely will like the live versions more. Being a drummer myself for many years as well I totally understand why he changes his playing from the studio to live versions, and that´s OK pretty much because the whole band does the same process. Even Frusciante himself has the same attitude, just compare the more mellow solos from studio versions against what he does when he´s on stage, and you´ll probably notice the same difference.
Gabriel Nardin Music I think it’s primarily down to venue. Think about it, beating the hell out of your drums is better for arena’s because the sound is more consistent for the reverb and quiet notes won’t get washed out underneath. When they play smaller venues you’ll notice he doesn’t hit as hard and plays more intricately. The same goes for fast songs. I read Metallica do this where they don’t play fast songs as much in big venues because it just sounds messy, but the slower ones, like Californication, sound great
john please stop fooling around, and take your guitar again, you are the best at it... and return to the band... if you may... but whatever you do please stop doing this progressive synth pop
Wtf are you serious? Most of the awesome lyrics AND vocal melody is Kiedis's. He mey not be the best at SINGING but hes a genius on finding the lyrical masterpiece to go with each instrumental they create.
Josh can't be compared to a legend like John Frusciante who has already been elevated to the R & R Hall of Fame and voted in 2010 as the Greatest Guitarist for the past 30 years in a BBC poll. He has a lot of practicing and learning to be even at par with Frusciante.
Whichever sound tech got hold of this audio and posted it online is the real MVP. John's vocals are incredible.
This is a fan recording
Who else got chills when Johns vocals kicked in
I always do every single time❤️
Every time
same here...
The questions is... who doesn't???
@@ElGemeliG you’re asking the real questions here, respect.

Matías Ezequiel that's true, Antony is the face of the band, John is way better singer than Anthony, but I can't imagine a RHCP without Antony.

He really knows what he's doing with his falsetto/head voice :D
he gets high before he sings high
@@bex6767that’s not falsetto, it sounds like he has a very large vocal range
4:04 that’s falsetto but the “uuu uuuu uuuu” on 2:47 seems to be his chest voice

3:49 that mistake makes me feel comfortable that even gods can get in trouble
John made a mistake so we can think he’s human
is it me or the drums on this song sound much better live?
Pedro Alexandre Chad always sounds better live, the whole band does

Mungo Finalfi yeah I guess your right about that😂 He can’t sing live at all. Most of the time, he forgets the lyrics, especially in cant stop

he still plays. His solo stuff is magical....
he still plays but not rock
wrong, he still rocks not all his tracks but some are loud n upbeat
Stay in your lane
Don't tell people what to do with their lives it is rude
kiedis was always a mediocre
+Steve N Yet he is very relevant in the magic that RHCP has made over the years. RHCP without kiedis, nor John, is RHCP in my eyes.
Kiedis makes the band
Steve N kiedis is the reason this band exists...
