    Awesome guys, amazing Americans, and a level of conversation I should have been taking notes listening to... GREAT podcast!! Thank you, Evan!!
    I forwarded the PRS information to a few people I know.. Dudes that want to take their love of the sport to a next level but aren't exactly into a faux-combat type competition.

    During the height of the pandemic I had over 400rds of 5.56 and 9mm ammo along with a doz P-Mags out on loan to my 'Johmny Comelately" friends/co-workers. I felt like Nostradamus guiding them through their 1st panicked firearm purchase as 'the gun guy' in the office. I watched them gladly pay 200% above retail, but the real question was who was going to ND into their leg 1st. The real trick though was buying all their brand new guns back from them ifor fractions of what they paid a year or 2 later once they felt safe again.

    They mean comparatively to the competition. You don't have to spend that much to learn a lot and get better. But I'd save as much as you could to get into because you'll end up wanting to swap to certain things because they're better for a reason. That said get a tikka, bergara, or even a ruger American predator and a scope with dial-able turrets and you can do a lot.

    • @leftyeh6495
      @leftyeh6495 8 месяцев назад +1

      Depending on the caliber, the brass will get too thin after it stretches and gets trimmed over and over.
      Annealing will keep it from cracking forever.

    This podcast is full of crap about “affordable”. $2500 for a gun, $1500 got an optic, $350 for one weekend of ammo, $150 for a bipod, $30 a sand sock. That’s $4500 entry price point.

    • @AccuSol-ERN
      @AccuSol-ERN 8 месяцев назад +1

      Don't forget the GAP PPR....."production".....rifle.....hahaha. As you stated, the $4500 ($2.5k rifle and $2k scope) allowance seems a little steep for a production "entry" class. I would like to see a $1.5k (MSRP) rifle and $1k (MSRP) scope limit at MAX for a production/entry class.

    • @leftyeh6495
      @leftyeh6495 8 месяцев назад

      You're so wrong though. I started with a home built rifle ($450 action, $400 remage barrel, $500 chassis, $250 trigger)
      Added a $2500 scope.
      And used about $5k worth of reloading equipment to do load development. 😂
      But it's still cheaper than if I spent $6k on an Accuracy International rifle, and $8k on a Hendsolt scope. 😂

      Well, its affordable for a PRS rifle. May not be affordable for a hunting rifle. A lot of hunters aren't that strict with their hunter rifle. They are like I can hit the paper plate at 100-200 yards, I'm good. Some hunters don't verify if their ammo they bought is good with their rifle, or even re-zero after changing to a new ammo.
