Great job on the wall, floor and the roof. With regard to negative comments, just ignore and delete them. You are doing a fabulous job on,what is a very daunting project. Thanks for sharing these episodes. Hugs
Nice job on the tanking. OK Katie, I think you should be a historical presenter either on TV or RUclips. You have great presence and a very calm and clear presenting voice. I would not be surprised if they come a knocking. Your great too Scott, as the Lord of The Shed of...Doom. You are a master of editing these episodes, keep up the great work.
Bravo on the tanking and the bitumen! Two massive steps closer to a dry winter. Scott, thank you for the peaceful interludes between projects. I love these aspects of your vlogs just as much as the banter, seeing the creatures, the work, the chat and the history.
This was so enjoyable to watch. The part about the kirk and the history of Red Robert was fascinating. My great grandfather was from Scotland near Edinburgh, and Katie's explanation about many Scots having an inclination towards rebelliousness rang a bell with me, as I've always had that myself, especially towards authority I didn't have respect for. I'm very loyal to authority I do have respect for, but have a deep disdain for unjust authority, or slipshod authority. Whenever I see buildings, especially old churches where nothing's left except the ruins of walls, I always think about the times when it was in use. I think about the people who would have sat in there, singing hymns, praying their prayers, both in good times and in bad. I've always had a great reverence for history, and I greatly appreciate Katie taking the time to show and narrate the history there. Great video!
Great comment, and describes me to a tee,I’m Scottish born in my beloved Scotland but my grandparents were Irish, therefore I’m a true Celt,I love Ireland, the Irish and their sad history, very similar to Scottish history
You two are naturals and the episodes just keep getting better and better! Katie!!! What a brilliant presentation and tour of the kirk and the story of Rob Roy. Absolutely perfect! Thank you!💞
Things are really coming along now. You two are amazing people. After a year of watching, I still look forward to all you have to share with us. Thank you for making my day each time I tune in!
It's a great pleasure and privilege to be with you lovely people on your adventure, thank you so much. As for the negative comments, ignore them, there's always somebody willing to knock others. Keep doing what you're doing, living the dream.
Very sad but so true, the system were all forced to live in has oppressed most of us,but not me ,I can see through the oppression,I stick my middle finger up to it
Great to see, beautiful country! My grandmother was from Scotland, born in Paisley and then Glasgow. I have a special place in my heart for Scotland. Thanks for sharing your life with us. 🇨🇦
So fun and glorious such a place. Glad the floor is sealed👍👍. its a sad thing some people make rude remarks. But i pray some day they areenlightened. The Lord never fails to humble the proud. 🙏🙏🙏Enjoy the Adventure, now some riggin to heave up that stove to the house. 😁😁. Be blessed🙏🙏🙏
Because the Scots were kicked out of their country and had to sail to Nova Scotia, I think that's why Rob Roy is a hero here! He fought the government of the day. Love the history lesson!
Not familiar with Starlink, but to me it appeared that you had plugged the device into a mound of ancient rocks! 😅❤ Love your podcasts!! I’m living YOUR life! ❤
You know how to tell a story Katie.. loved the Rob Roy chat! Enjoyed the photography of how the light fell on the dappled green woods & all the best with the renovations!
Hello from The Jersey Shore, NJ! I have some Scottish In my Blood, dear, Scottish Sis! What a paradise lifestyle you've chosen. I wish I could live on an Scottish Island. Is is expensive? Your videos are amazing! God bless you both!!
Very happy to see you finally getting to the solution for this. Hopefully, now you can both start to properly enjoy your home. You've put so much into living there. Once again, thanks for your story, the laughs, and your beautiful home & a glimpse into island life. Ian x
Great show, lots of Scottish people here in Mississippi where I live, I have Campbell cousins, my Kennedy’s were from Scotland, also my grandfather was a Murray…I enjoy watching because I see much of the same culture as you guys even though we are so far away from each other…our family’s here stuck very close to one another and still do today…it’s hard to get into their tribe 🤣 Keep up the great work guys!

I live about 1 1/2 hours from McGregor, Iowa. Never knew the origin! It's a neat town and I've been there quite a few times. I'll see it in a new light next time I go. Thanks for the history. Love your channel!
What a video, laughs, serious DIYing and history...I've read a lot about Rob Roy, its in my ancestry but I enjoyed your wee talk on him, lighthearted and very informative, youve got a great voice for doing this kind of thing Katie. Well done on the tanking, its all looking like its coming together now.
13:21 Can’t wait do take delivery of our Blu Ray case (looks top-drawer). The finished product needs to be showcased on the channel, in the hope of silencing the minority of negative viewers. Excellent content as usual Scott and Katie.
As I was watching this video and reading from the Old Kirk plaque the information was talking about the MacLarens Clan. Through research we found out that our family is descendants of that clan. Very surprising. Thanks for sharing.
🙋♀️❤️. So happy about the floor! I know you've been looking forward to it for a long time! Honestly! Those beautiful red apples don't even look real! Beauty everywhere, love the view from the roof too! I think you'll be rid of the damp this winter!
Omgosh, deer hanging out with the sheep! Would love to see that! Being an avid history buff and taphophile, I absolutely LOVED the church and grave yard tour. Gorgeous. Well done with the renos, it's looking good. Thank you. Loved it all. Beautiful as always xx Teresa 🇦🇺💝 ps loved seeing the fur babies too - and Shona😻🐑
Great job in tanking the room. I enjoyed your visit to the Balquidder Church. I love that wee road and have visited many times over the years and taken many visitors. It is my solace road along to Loch Voil. You would be wonderful at narrating books Katie and over voicing documentaries etc. Good luck to both in the rest of your restoration. 🥰
What an amazing episode! You two are so funny! I kept laughing at your banter. The floor looks wonderful. I didn't think you'd ever be able to fix the damp problem. Well done. Loved this episode - tarring, the floor, the beautiful green and the Rob Roy tales. Not to mention the massive effort to get the stoves onto the trailer.
Hello Katie and Scott, great episode today on restoring the floor. Looks like you guys did a great job in sealing the floor. That stove looked incredibly heavy, I'm surprised you made it as far as you did. With both of those pieces. Good luck hauling it into the house. Looking forward to your next video as always.
Excellent job on the floor! Good job the both of you. I love the story about the Red Dear ❤ I have dear that frequent my yard. They are beautiful magical creatures. Thank you two for sharing your life ❤
I was intrigued to know how you got the quad and trailer to the mainland? Great couple by the way, the episodes are geting soooo good with the history inserts. Thank you. George x
Our former son-in-law was Rob Roy MacGregor. Was not familiar with that history. Only recently learned that I am 24% Scottish so am always eager to learn about part of my ancestry.
We used that tanking on all the inside walls of the ground floor of our house when we moved in, we stayed in caravan in the garden while it was done, I agree great stuff 👍👍
We're moving into Autumn here. Before you know it, it'll be snowing. Changing the visuals in the titles takes a long time. Time is one thing I do not have.
Great job on the floors and walls!!! I really enjoyed the bit about Rob Roy as my family is from the Mac Gregor lineage. You guys remind me of my husband and I ☺️
So much in one episode!! Wow, I enjoyed every mint of it. Well worth the wait. Thank you so much for all your hard work! You two are just pure Ace! Lots of love Helen from Scotland! Wee fur babies at the end made my heart sing. ❤
Most people I know don't put bitumen on anything. I remember building a deck with friends 35 years ago. We coated the joists with creosote. Is bitumen and creosote the same stuff? Now it's all treated wood so creosote doesn't get used much for small building jobs. Yes, Stephen King did write The Shawshank Redemption. Favorite Escape Movies: The Great Escape, Stalag 17, Escape to Victory, The Count of Monte Cristo (Gerard Depardeau version).
Loved this vlog. The floor looks great. Good to tick things off the list. Even if it keeps growing 😂 Katie the history was really interesting, I love the way you tell the storys and the kirk is a beautiful old ruin.
The Shawshank Redemption is a novella written by Stephen King. The story takes place in Maine, my home state! I just read the film can be interpreted as Christian mysticism, some of which you have alluded to in your stories of Scotland. Mr. King has a summer home in the town next to mine and we have seen him in his normal daily life. I am happy you are getting your living structures dry! It is hard living in constant dampness.
A beautiful place to live for two intrepid souls. Looks back breaking work but hopefully worth it in the end. Bravo to you both! Love the music and the easy pace plus the dear sheep🎶💕👏
What an interesting video today. Your floor looks amazing. A huge job but now you have it all water proofed. Well done guys!! Loved the history lesson especially since our family lineage goes back to the Campbells of Argyle. I learned so much from your channel on so many levels. When you called Shawna and she came running, that was adorable. She loves her mom. I had to laugh when I thought about your deer visitor who comes for a quiet sleep and some delicious hay and the poor sheep were being blamed. So funny. Now, how on earth are you going to move that heavy stove up to your cottage. That is going to be a difficult and exhausting job. Good luck…hope it works out for you. Will see in the next episode.🤞🏻❤️🇨🇦
You two live in the most amazingly beautiful place on earth IMO. I have English and probably Scottish ancestors, and something about your island just tugs at my heartstrings, like an ancient memory. Thanks for sharing it with us! The red deer in the sheep pen has it all figured out does she?
Great work with the tanking. Such a relief for you both. Love hearing about the deer 🦌😊. Fabulous history around the Kirk. Keep warm, dry, and well both of you 😊 xx
Such wonderful moss covered landscaping. Looks like plush green velvet. Great jobs on your projects. I think it would still behoove you to extend the roof a bit over the trench, now you have the floor 'tanked', giving you a little 'breathing room. Love you two. ❤
Hi guys I love the care you take for the home and land the owners got excellent caretakers with you both, also is the tanking slurry something that's usable outside the wall as well , or just indoors 😊
Great job on the wall, floor and the roof. With regard to negative comments, just ignore and delete them. You are doing a fabulous job on,what is a very daunting project. Thanks for sharing these episodes. Hugs

Too many Scots have lost that rebellious tenacious spirit. Excellent narration Katie.
Thank you kindly! Kx
