    Thanks for the video. I was looking for this kind of information. How to adopt your routine for 60+ years old people?

    When riding my bike outdoors I face a few hills that jack up my HR for a few minutes at a time 5-6 times in a 45 minute ride. My average for the ride generally is 65-75%. Does this negate the zone 2 work on the ride?

    Is there a meaningful difference between %max heart rate and % heart rate reserve?

      Hi Alphonse, thanks for your comment! We kept things simple in the video, so we did not go into the HRR topic 🙏
      Overall, %HRR is more accurate because it considers your fitness level, and it becomes a more important parameter to consider the more "fit" you become. So, as one progresses, the more data she/he has, the better (VO2 max test, lactate test, FTP test, etc).

    Get off the couch, Put down the iphone and go for a ride on a bicycle.
    Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it daily.
    Ride to work, school or for fun. Healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation.

    How many weeks would you recommend an absolute beginner focus on Zone 2 to build an aerobic base?

    • @beyondsapiens
      @beyondsapiens  Год назад +2

      Hi @eightpercentdisciple, thanks for your question! It will highly depend on your physique, background, and general training experience. If you like, you can book a free consultation call with us, and we can help you get started: calendly.com/beyond-sapiens/30min.
      Generally, if you do Zone 2 1-3 times a week, you should start seeing some results within 2 months. Hence your base should begin to build up within 2 months; however, this is individual it can be much quicker or take more time as it depends on many factors.
      If you start as a beginner, I would say it is super important to properly warm up and cool down before and after every session to help your body recover and avoid injuries.
      Also, pay attention to how you feel and how your breathing is. Often, you may need to start walking, slowly move to running or slow cycling, and then speed up your tempo as your condition improves and your breathing flows effortlessly.
      So all of this is general advice, and we would need to know your situation better to know what to suggest. However, we would love to connect over a call if you feel it could help! 🤗
