On couldn't have asked for a more complete evaluation of this superb camera, nicely done!! One of my absolute favorite "go to" cameras for just about everything I'm likely to shoot! Your new menu based approach to your reviews adds a component that will most likely best serve those interested in a specific issue or function of the reviewed camera. Great concept, especially for those needing additional insight about a camera's specific feature set and not willing to watch the entire video to get it.
+Tim Javor Thank you, those are kind words and I appreciate your insight. I'll keep checking on my retention stats to see if viewers actually use the feature.
got mine around one year ago, apart from the internal reflection problem that afected many d750 its perfect for me, really good tutorial, some things i never tried
I have watched multiple D750 guides, including Tony and Chelsea, Jared Polin, Matt Granger and a couple others. I found yours to be most in depth and informative out of all the guides I watched. Your user guide help me get to know my brand new D750 a lot. Also, thumbs up to the samples taken for the video.
Learned one thing after purchasing to pass on - if you don't want the LCD lighting up when you change ISO using the back button and thumbwheel, press the shutter half-way as you press the ISO button - it keeps the panel from lighting up - but you still can see it on the top right deck display and through the viewfinder.
I got my D750 now for almost one year, I had it with me on my 5-day-trip to New York and it is a real working horse. The image quality is flawless, the viewfinder is big, bright and clear, the tilt screen is extremely useful and the grip is much better than the one of the D7000 I had before. One of the greatest things is how well the D750 performs in low light. Even with ISO 1600, there is almost NO noise at all (looking at 100% crop). Besides being full frame, the D750 "feels" a lot like the D7000 - just better in almost every way (except that it is heavier and bulkier...)
Best review(er) of the Nikon on RUclips.. well done.. very rapid, deep and no hype plus no dreaded music! You are a great teacher. Thank you for your stupendous effort.
+bigjuliedive That's very kind of you to say, thanks for taking the time to comment. There are lots of things you could dread that I've left out ... and I do aim to waste as little time as possible, to show you what I find interesting, and to be clear and direct.
Thanks for this helpfull review. I have the D750 about 8 months now and I am very satisfied. Saw things in this review which I never knew were on the camera!
I agree, this is the most comprehensive, impartial and useful review of the D750, that I've seen so far. Thanks for taking the time to create such an excellent resource. I'm sure I'll revisit again and again.

Maarten, Thank you so much for your wonderful channel full of reviews! I just purchased a Nikon refurbished D750 thanks to your glowing review! You're videos are by far the best and most fun reviews I've come across, and will continue to watch all your videos regardless of if I plan to purchase that camera or not!
+Justin G. Thanks, I certainly appreciate being thought of as "fun". Always happy to have another subscriber. And if there is a specific camera you'd like to know more about, please let me know.
Look!!! You have no clue what you have done for me. In just 30 mins of watching this video I have tweeked my camera to perfection. This is crazy!!! Bookmarking this RUclips channel.
Marten, What an AWESOME "Detailed" video Review -Tutorial! You make us D750 Owners proud; if not the least inspired to take more and better photos... Thanks a lot for demonstrating the purpose of that little "do-hickey" thing. This is my second NIKON DSLR body and that is the first time that I have seen it being shown on how to use it. Everyone else tells you to use a piece of Gaffer tape... Many Thanks! Cheers!
Hi, just stumbled on your channel, I got the D750 from my Dad, when he went mirrorless and I am trying a lot of different photography things, your review still seems to me to be the most all encompassing, for example I tried astro and was very confused why cranking the ISO didnt allow me to see the stars in liveview for focusing, I watched a lot of Videos about the D750 but yours was the first one to acutally mention that you have to turn on exposure preview in liveview, thank you for your great work.
Hope you are recovering from your fall :-) Thanks, it was a pleasure to read your kind words. It's always been my intention to provide a complete and detailed review of a camera.
I just got this camera after doing much research . Your tips and explanation is excellent . By the way great choice for a winery Ravine is a great spot for me as I live in Niagara
+Mark Ferwerda Thanks, I think - I do try to be believable, and to illustrate the features in ways as to explain why and how to use them. Sorry to have disappointed you.
Hello Sir.... I am planning to buy Nikon D750 and your review is very helpful for me. in very simple way you explained it all.... thanks for this Great review
Your style and reviews unique, I love your videos. It is clear you spent long time on this video. Thanks. For the Nikon D750, for me it is the best all around DSLR available now, it is amazing for wedding, events and landscape. I am using this camera since 9 months it is just amazing. For the video part, even if it has 4K for me DSLR is not the first option for video, for video i have the Sony AX100 camcorder, video camera made with video in mind, no recording limits and with all video features out of the box. Again thanks for your reviews, my good wishes for you to hit the 100K very very soon.
Great review. I used to love my Fuji x-t1 until I got the Nikon d750 to me with the Sigma art lenses this is another level above the Fuji x cameras..just bigger
This is the best video of the D750 i have seen, thanks i will be coming back to review from time to time. love mine, but as i can see from your video i am just scratching the surface of this great camera. thank you for your in-depth tutorial
+colt kwilkerson It's very kind of you to take the time to comment with such kind words, and I agree, there's a lot of potential, and it takes time to uncover it all.
just did a shoot with it last night with my new Tokina 100mm Macro lens. wow what a good lens, coupled with the D750 makes for some Great photos. again thanks for the great tutorial.
I really enjoyed your very detailed tutorial although I struggled to keep up in some places and I have been using this camera for awhile. I guess I will just have to review those parts I didn't quite get. One suggestion is to separate the photo shooting from movie shooting which for me would have helped. IMHO it could have been better if it was 45 mins long and I usually think the reverse is true of most YT bloggers!! Thank you. Very helpful.
It was a pleasure to read your kind words. I do try to separate stills from video, but on most models they are blended together, and it hards to talk about focus for stills without mentioning that the same features are not available for video. I'm not sure I"m ready to go to 45 minutes, I've been treating 30 (or so) as the reasonable maximum.
Most comprehensive camera review Ive seen on any camera. Excellent!! 👍👍 Im a huge fan of this camera, arguably the best hybrid on the market. There was only one point I may disagree on... quality difference in video between FX and DX. I noticed a drop to DX when I did a test. Also, one point for video if I can add. Everyone keeps saying, do sharpening in post. But Ive found you can retain a bit more detail if you set sharpening a few notches above minimum default in Flat profile.
+markstanley2001 Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate your comments. That's an interesting observation, did you mean for stills or for video and how would you characterize the difference? I would agree with you, for as much as it's guidance that's often given, I prefer not to turn it down all the way.
+Maarten Heilbron between FX and DX, i would equate the difference I saw similar to digital zoom in say a mobile phone. I wouldn't imagine the camera would have to do that seeing that it has a 24MP sensor, plenty to fill a 1080p frame. I am not sure how they allocate sensor pixels to fill the 1080p frame, but i definitely noticed a drop on quality... enough never use unless last resort. If someone knows how they allocate pixels to video frame, they would be nice to know.
Hi Martin, Re AF-C 3D tracking makes use of the color matrix metering sensor and tracks objects. E.g. put it on the black tyre of a car and it will track the tyre as the car moves away. Or on a red football gurnsey and it will track the player, etc etc.
I do get your point...Nikon and Canon seem to be dragging thier feet somewhat..all new camera's should have sensor stabilization. Thank you for responding to my comment. I respect your opinion
+brianminkc Thanks for the kind words - the mirrorless camera space seems to be moving more quickly than the DSLR space. And I don't mean to diminish the D750 in any way - if you're going for great stills performance with the best control set, this is IT.
Hi, great reviews. I have a question. I've been using a D5300 for about two years now and I'm getting fairly confident with my photography. I have several weddings now booked in. So I'd like to upgrade. My issue is this... I do not know what camera to choose for this... the D750 or the D500? With you knowledge and experience what would you say would be the best choice? Bare in mind I already have several DX lenses. Will the 4MP less on the d500 be a deal breaker? Will I get sharper images on the D500 because its crop. Please I know your busy... but I like some direct advice.
I'd recommend that you take a step back and ask what you expect the upgrade to accomplish. What feature/function/improvement are you hoping to have? I would not find the D5300 a particularly deficient camera. While I recognize that you'd like to re-invest in your business and improve your equipment, the first thing I'd do is start replacing the DX lenses with FX lenses - that will make much greater difference in quality than transitioning to a FF sensor with a few MP more. The lenses will last a long time, and when you are ready to move to a full frame sensor (which will make a difference) you'll be ready. And with those DX lenses, you're not going to get much benefit from an FX body, as it will crop the sensor to match the lens. However, I'm not really answering your question. I liked both cameras, if I had to pick one, I'd probably go with the D500, which in my mind, provided a nicer shooting experience, although I'm hard pressed to quantify that.
Maarten Heilbron thank you so much for your quick response. I appreciate your advice and knowledge. I needing need a camera that will be sufficient for weddings. Are you suggesting the D500 is more than capable of this?
Great review Maarten Heilbron! If you don't mind I would love to have your opinion about a big decision I have to make. I have the Nikon D5100 but I need to upgrade. What do I need it for? Travel a lot: Portraits and Landscapes Home: Macro with a Pro need because I'm shooting jewellry, with commercial propose. Which camera do you recommend? D750? a Mirrorless? Budget: around D750 body value. Thank you very much for your time.
Thanks for the kind words, that's always appreciated. I"m not sure why you need to upgrade (although I always understand the desire to do so). I'd say a good macro lens might be your best bet. Sure, upgrading to the D750 would be great, but the incremental improvement may be small. Try the lens first.
great video review as always from you - very classy and informational - thanks I am a mirrorless guy big time - but frustrated with the Sony A7xxx lens costs - and tracking focus - I have the A7 and A7m2 - ( of course I have Lumix and Sony E bodies and Olympus and Fuji ) and most are all great in still focus - the A6300 is very good in tracking although I wish it had Touch LCD for pulling focus as it does not always pic my focal point of interest - but frustrating lens selection - So for some wedding work I was thinking I need a DSLR - for FF and better price for 70-200 f2.8 and 24-70mm F2.8 and a 85 F1.8 and a 35mm F1.4 to begin with - ( just occasional weddings-not Pro - when health allows ) So was looking at the Sigma lenses - so much more affordable - But main concern is focus speed in Live View - which I understand is Contrast Only - no Phase - Is that true - and is the contrast fast enough ?? my eyesight is poor so I tend to like using LCD - but of course can use EVF if really needed - but of course there are many shots hard to do with EVF and with the tillable LCD now one can get low and high shoots easy - but if focus speed is slow and bad then that is not good - So in short how is focus speed in Live View ? is it fast enough for wedding work - many say the D750 does well in focusing in low light but I assume that with Phase - how about in Live view ?
Thanks for the kind words, and sharing your thoughts, always appreciated. I haven't had the opportunity to try those Sigma lenses ... but it is something I'll put on my "to-do" list. And I agree, would have to have touch - the more cameras I review that have it, the more it seems odd not to have it. I would not use live view for speed work - it's kind of slow and cumbersome, as the mirror flips twice to expose the image, and the focus models are different.
Maarten, I'm a longtime apsc shooter who's "always wanted a full frame" DSLR. I've been saving up for this camera, but now the XT2 is right around the corner lol. Would you recommend the D750 over the upcoming XT2? I know you're probably not allowed to say much about the XT2 yet, so maybe just some thoughts on the size, weight and operation compared to it. I would plan on mostly using primes with am FX body
+Ponskippa I would not have thought to compare those two, so it's an interesting question. The XT2 really does compare favourably with full frame cameras, but. And I'm hesitant to present final thoughts without final firmware. The XT2 is not a small or light camera. Operationally, they're such different approaches that it comes down to style and preference. I could be happy and recommend either, and although Fuji makes some fine XF series lenses, the overall Nikkor lineup provides much more flexibility.
Wow, excellent video. I'm moving up to a D750 from a D7100, so some of this was very familiar, while other items also found on the D7100 I'd forgotten were there, so thanks for that refresher course as well as some of the D750 NOT found on my D7100. I'll be watching this video a few more time, I'm sure. Thanks again!!! Good stuff!!!!!
Nice review, lots of time spent on it and quite comprehensive. Are the viewfinder vids captured using HDMI and an Atmos recorder, or is there another way to do that ?
Thanks - always nice to be appreciated by someone who understands the effort involved. I record the menu screens with a Atomos Shogun via HDMI - although sometimes it's necessary to shoot with another camera when a feature doesn't work when a monitor is connected.
Thanks you Maarten for this really comprehensive video. If you could, would you answer a question for me...why when the camera is in Live View, AFS-S, and Matrix metering does the histogram change when moving the focus point? Thanks
Always my pleasure, thanks for the kind words. In general the histogram is always updating as the light in the image area changes. However, those changes are not related to the position of the focus point.
The scenes where I appear on camera were shot with a Sony A6000 (bhpho.to/2nE2lVr) with the 16-70 lenses (bhpho.to/2o6jS5c) You'll find all the behind the scenes details at heilbron.com/nikon-d750/
I just got this camera, and it’s my first full frame. I love it, but I could do without the video. I had this on my D5500, too, and it just seems like I’m paying for something I’ll never use. I wish there was an option to not have it sometimes.
Thank you so much. And also I almost forgot, Sir - Thank you so much for the review of the camera! It was an incredible review. I would love to subscribe to your channel for more uploads. Sir for moving objects isn't it hard and bad auto-focus with Nikon D750? How do you accomplish that focus?
Always my pleasure, and thanks for the very kind words, which are always appreciated. Yes, it's not ideal, and there's no easy solution. Try shooting with the smallest aperture for the widest depth of field. An external monitor (or a viewfinder loupe for the LCD) so you can see focus more easily and clearly.
Hi Maarten, I'm not a professional in that issue. I'm a doctor and I use camera for before and after images of some skin lesions. I sent you a message a long time ago, but it seems you didn't see it. I need a camera with maximum portability and yet maximum sharp images whether indoors or outdoors, and from a distance as well as from near to the lesion. I also take images for moving kids sometimes with a lesion on the face that I need it to be clear and sharp for proper follow up. Would you help me in choice?
+Ahmed Fawzy My sincere apologies, I do my best to reply to all comments and messages, I'm sorry to hear that I've overlooked one. I can provide some guidance, but I think that your fellow professionals who have similar requirements may be the best source of information. I don't like to promote a different camera in the comments, particularly for someone who has specific requirements that aren't met with this model. With your settings, I'm not able to send you a youtube DM. Please contact me through my blog (maartech.com) and I'll reply with a more specific recommendation.
Really rolling through this review. Rather than covering each and every camera option, perhaps you could select the ones you find the most useful, or new. I prefer your older reviews, where the pace was slower and the descriptions of gear less a laundry list.
+Michael MacGillivray Thanks for your thoughts, and I did think about my approach here - I just felt that one of the features of this camera was the depth of its functions, so it did feel long and as a result I added the interactive menu. For a camera as capable as this, I felt this was the right approach. I'm sorry that I did not meet your expectations.
First of all I wanna to thank you for this good video about this camera But I. Have a question and I need your opinion. Now this lens, the 85mm 1.8g with which is great for portrait is it better with Nikon D750 or d610. Thanks for reading my my question
Hello i just want to say this is a great review on the D750! Ive been doing so much research on this camera and this helped a lot. I need your opinion if you don't mind and get a chance to read this. I shoot cars as a hobby and was looking to upgrade to the D750 with the 24-120mm F4, I currently shoot with a D7000 using an 18-200mm 3.5-5.6, 35mm 1.8, and a 50mm 1.8. I am looking for sharper images and better quality as an upgrade. I know there are better cameras for that but with the sale that is going on now with the D750 i was really considering buying it. I would appreciate it!!
Thank you, I appreciate your kind words. Yes, between the full frame sensor and the increased resolution you'll likely see some improvement in quality - but I don't think the 18-200 can deliver to those standards.
Is the “exposure smoothing” meant to be used when taking a time lapse of a sunset or sunrise? Those can be tricky to make time lapses of after all. And if not, what DOES it do if you turn it on in those situations? Or is it mostly for avoiding the flickering you can get from frame to frame in a time lapse?
The trouble with exposure smoothing in those situations is that it defeats the purpose. For those you expose properly at the beginning of a sunset, and to be properly exposed at the end of the sunrise. Exposure smoothing works best if the exposure is changing unpredictably, like moving clouds. Time lapse should not flicker, unless you're shooting something with very short term lighting changes.
Great video review, yes the best on RUclips but my experience of this camera is mixed after 1 year. I find it awkward, the shutter is very sluggish as well as slow moving focus spot using live view for stills (handy with the tilting screen) It has many times failed to nail the focus (with the 50mm G and the 24mm f/1.4G ED), the noise is worse than I thought at higher ISO and I also find the colours underwhelming after using the D200 for 10 years. All in all it's a good camera but for me, didn't meet my expectations.
Thanks for the kind words and your comments. I agree, Liveview is a poor compromise for what mirrorless cameras offer. Yes, noise, but it must be an improvement over the D200. As for colour, have you tried the picture controls or making adjustments within the picture controls, or saving a custom control? Every manufacturer's default setting seems (to me anyway) to be more neutral these days - but there are usually ways to mitigate this in camera if you prefer.
Hi Maarten, I recently sold my 80d with the sigma 18-35 f 1.8 and the canon 85mm f 1.8, i'm looking at the D750 for mainly stills, what are your thoughts on this transition, would i see a massive jump in IQ ?What lenses do you recommend considering the lenses i had. thanks!
Oh, I probably wouldn't have done that. You won't see a massive jump in IQ, and you're likely to encounter aggravation as you learn a new menu system. That said, the D750 is an excellent choice, and I would recommend the 16-80, which I enjoyed as a capable and high quality lens.
oh well i am surprised to hear that, a full frame sensor is what i currently need for my photography (mainly portrait, astro, street). What other FF cameras do you recommend similar to the price point of the D750, there is also the Sony A7RII but their lenses cost a fortune.
I see. Remember that Sony's e-mount is compatible - with widely available adapters - with nearly every lens. And to be fair, Sony's best lenses are not materially different in price than Nikon's. The issue you've identified is that Sony makes very little cheap glass.
What do you think about the D750 as a strictly stills camera? My only real concern is the autofocus. Or perhaps, do you think it would it be worth it to save up for a few more months and buy a used D850?
I am stuck between D750 and D810. I will be using mainly for Potraits and child photography. in D750, I loose ISO64 and 1/8000 Shutter speed. Will it really matter? Also, which one will be long term survivor?
I don't either of those are significant for portraits or children. As for which one has the longer life span, I can't be certain, but the D750 is clearly the more popular camera on flickr.
very good video but i have 1 comment. sometimes it feels like your talking to children. but again, very very good video, i subscribed and bookmarked this vid.
If you do a little research you will quickly find that these issues were found only on a small number of cameras with a specific serial number range. As far as I know these have all been repaired under warranty.
And when you say "take" I assume you mean "buy" ... If you have any existing glass stay with the brand you already have. Otherwise, both are good - take the one that fits your wallet and hand, and you'd never leave at home. I haven't reviewed the 80D yet, so can't really do a detailed comparison for you. I suspect the D750 ...
This is the best review available anywhere.
What an extremely nice thing to say - thank you very much!

this is the definitive nikon d750 guide! thank you so much, you speak in great depth and detail without getting too technical! :)
It's always nice to hear from an appreciative viewer, thanks for commenting.
I think this might be one of the best reviews of any product on YT. Very well done, pleasure to watch :)
That's very kind of you to say, thanks very much.

This is the best camera review/tutorial I have seen in youtube. period! well done! Thank you!

+Gabriela Jones Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate your kind words.
what lens are you going to use with D750 for astro, if I may ask.
Your reviews are second to none, very detailed and informative. Thank you
Thanks, I appreciate your kind words.

+Maarten Heilbron I would love to see a review of the Nikon D500 when it becomes available, especially regarding high ISO and 4k video
+Justin G. I'm also looking forward to that review.
Your best review ever! Very well done.
+pegasusltc328 Thank you for the kind words, I truly appreciate your comments.
I'm planning to buy this beast 1st week of oct..and got more excited after your comprehensive review....thanks a ton....:)

Thanks. I appreciate your kind words.
The D750 seems to be holding it's price well 3 years after it's release. It is becoming a classic which is why I am glad I bought it.
I'd be glad too. I'm sure it'll be a great camera five years from now.
Marbury 67 yes and now it's only $1500
It's on rebate for under 2k with lens and battery grip included. Planning to get one before it ends.
Sounds like a good plan.
This is probably the best D750 review I've seen. Kudos!
Very kind of you to say, thanks for commenting.
Marten,
What an AWESOME "Detailed" video Review -Tutorial! You make us D750 Owners proud; if not the least inspired to take more and better photos...

Thanks for the kind words. Was at Ravine on Saturday for their spectacular Harvest Dinner. And don't miss the July 1 fireworks - best in the region.
I have my D750 for a few years now but watched the video before my next journey to remind me, how everything works. :-) Thank you!
Always nice to know my videos are useful, thanks for your kind words.
Unbelievable amount of detail! I've had my D750 for a few months -- heard lots on your video I didn't even know about and likely won't use.
+Mark Ferwerda Thanks, I think - I do try to be believable, and to illustrate the features in ways as to explain why and how to use them. Sorry to have disappointed you.
+Maarten Heilbron It didn't disappoint -- I just just amazed by all the detail presented.
+Mark Ferwerda Thanks for the clarification. And the kind words, always appreciated.
Hello Sir.... I am planning to buy Nikon D750 and your review is very helpful for me. in very simple way you explained it all.... thanks for this Great review
Thank you for taking the time to comment with such nice words.
Thank you for taking the time to comment with such nice words. Sounds like you have two great cameras, and are enjoying your experience.
I will second the other viewers that your review is excellent, and entertaining at the same time. Thank you.
So glad to hear that I'm both informative and entertaining. Thanks for the kind words.
Found your channel recently, must say I think your presentations top all others in tech detail. Appreciate all the time you put in.....subscribed.
That's so kind of you to say, thanks for commenting.
Great review. I used to love my Fuji x-t1 until I got the Nikon d750 to me with the Sigma art lenses this is another level above the Fuji x cameras..just bigger
+darren corolla Thanks for the kind words. Always interested to hear what my viewers are up to.
Superb, detailed review Maarten. Thank you for taking the time and effort to bring it together.
Thanks, it's always nice to know my work is appreciated.
+colt kwilkerson It's my pleasure, thanks for the update.
Comprehensive coverage of the D750 - great review; and nicely conversational and easy to understand
+Abhay Charan Das It's so kind of you to say that - thanks for taking the time to comment.
I am tempted to purchase both the D750 and the D5500.
D750 for filming and the D5500 for images.
+ruffdraft That's a powerful kit.
ruffdraft D750 is full frame, why take photos with the DX sensor? The D750 has more latitude!
Thanks for a great review, there is a starburst in the filters under the retouch menu.😎
Thanks for the tip.
My camera! Just added a Yongnuo flash to mine (which is also really useful on my little X100) and loving it. Great review.
+Drive Cancel I appreciate the kind words, thanks. Good choice(s).
Most comprehensive camera review Ive seen on any camera. Excellent!! 👍👍
Im a huge fan of this camera, arguably the best hybrid on the market.
+markstanley2001 Yes, it would be nice to know - there should be lots of resolution available.
Hi Martin,
Re AF-C 3D tracking makes use of the color matrix metering sensor and tracks objects.
E.g. put it on the black tyre of a car and it will track the tyre as the car moves away.
Or on a red football gurnsey and it will track the player, etc etc.
+jtan163 Thanks! That wasn't explained in the manual - glad to hear that it's useful.
***** sensor stabilisation isn't very practical in a DSLR because of the mirror.
Think it through.
+jtan163 I think you need to tell Sony, Olympus, and Pentax to think it through... they are putting stabilization on several of their DSLR bodies.
Both the D500 and the D5300 are more than capable. Invest in a better lens or two.
Great tutorial on my beloved D750...THANKS!
Always nice to hear from a viewer who has enjoyed my videos.
Great review Maarten Heilbron!
If you don't mind I would love to have your opinion about a big decision I have to make.
I have the Nikon D5100 but I need to upgrade. What do I need it for?
Travel a lot: Portraits and Landscapes
Home: Macro with a Pro need because I'm shooting jewellry, with commercial propose.
I agree with you Sir
great video review as always from you - very classy and informational - thanks
I am a mirrorless guy big time - but frustrated with the Sony A7xxx lens costs - and tracking focus - I have the A7 and A7m2 -
( of course I have Lumix and Sony E bodies and Olympus and Fuji ) and most are all great in still focus - the A6300 is very good in tracking although I wish it had Touch LCD for pulling focus as it does not always pic my focal point of interest - but frustrating lens selection -
So for some wedding work I was thinking I need a DSLR - for FF and better price for 70-200 f2.8 and 24-70mm F2.8 and a 85 F1.8 and a 35mm F1.4 to begin with - ( just occasional weddings-not Pro - when health allows )
So was looking at the Sigma lenses - so much more affordable -
But main concern is focus speed in Live View - which I understand is Contrast Only - no Phase - Is that true - and is the contrast fast enough ??
my eyesight is poor so I tend to like using LCD - but of course can use EVF if really needed - but of course there are many shots hard to do with EVF and with the tillable LCD now one can get low and high shoots easy - but if focus speed is slow and bad then that is not good -
So in short how is focus speed in Live View ? is it fast enough for wedding work - many say the D750 does well in focusing in low light but I assume that with Phase - how about in Live view ?
Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate your kind words.
The best tutorial in the world!
I certainly appreciate the kind words, thanks for commenting.
i like your explanation! right after this video watching i buy D750 online immediately Thank You.
Always nice to know my videos are helpful, thanks for commenting.
Excellent coverage, Maarten. Thank you.
+Omer Treason I appreciate the kind words, thanks for taking the time to comment.
It’s 2023 and just purchased a mint 750 for 500. I am thrilled.
I would be too.
Bought a new d750 yesterday. Thanks for the info.
Always nice to hear that my videos are appreciated.
Great video Mr. Maarten. Thank you for so much detailed information.
Thanks for the kind words, always my pleasure.
Fantastic review, I learned a lot.
Thanks so much
Glad it was helpful! I appreciate your kind words.
A detail review about the nikon d750, I'm one of the D750 's user. Thanks for your information.
It's my pleasure, thanks for taking the time to comment.
Great video! Informed me on a few functions I did not know about.
It's always nice to hear that I've been able to provide useful and interesting information. Thanks for taking the time to comment, appreciated.
Emilie-Claire Barlow - brilliant musician!
Thanks for the info - excellent video again.
+Dave Dewald I share your enthusiasm for ECB. It's my pleasure, thanks for the kind words.
Excellent review, thanks Maarten!
+Chris Hu Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate your comments.
+Maarten Heilbron Upgraded my D7000 to the D750 and the nose smudges is definitely one of my biggest nuisances thus far
+Chris Hu Thanks for the chuckle.
Extremly appreciate. Very genuine and true review. Thanks.
That's very kind of you to say, thanks for commenting.
Anyone with a Nikon D750 could not ask for a better review/tutorial (I’ll keep my Sony A7-II LOL). Great video Maarten.
Rick.
+RickBSO Thanks for the kind words, I have the nicest viewers.
Awesome review! As for in portraiture, which one is better, D750 or D810?
Both are good, really more about the lens.
best d750!!!! special review...bravo!
+click photography video greece Thank you for your enthusiastic praise. Always nice to hear from a fan.
Lots of info and pretty fast for my brain to comprehend! Will have to watch over a few times :)
Always nice to know I've provided useful information, please watch as much as you need - and feel free to ask questions.
Hello Sr What type the lens do you use for shooting this video and camera?
The scenes where I appear on camera were shot with a Sony A6000 (bhpho.to/2nE2lVr) with the 16-70 lenses (bhpho.to/2o6jS5c) You'll find all the behind the scenes details at heilbron.com/nikon-d750/
I just got this camera, and it’s my first full frame. I love it, but I could do without the video. I had this on my D5500, too, and it just seems like I’m paying for something I’ll never use. I wish there was an option to not have it sometimes.
It's true that there are many photographers who will never use the video functions.
Very interesting !! Thank you Maarten Heilbron.
+Nabil EA It's my pleasure, thanks for the kind words.
Is the D750 still a good choice in 2019?
I believe it is, but that may depend on your needs and intentions.
Yes, it is - The price is getting lower and the camera quality is the same than before.
The d750 is still a very good all round ff camera. Waiting for the prices to drop on dslr + dslr lenses when everyone goes mirrorless 😂
@@ShashankD137 Hopefully this will happen in your lifetime, but I wouldn't count on it.
Thank you for en lighting me about Nikon D750
Entirely my pleasure, thanks for commenting.
Mr. Marteen.
Were you shootig your videos with Nikon D750 in manual focus mode?
Unless it's a quickly moving and changing subject, I prefer to shoot video in manual focus.
Thank you Sir!
Always my pleasure
Hi Maarten,
I'm not a professional in that issue.
Excellent in-depth review.
That’s very kind of you to say, thanks for commenting.
Thanks for the kind words. It would make no difference which camera you were using with this lens.
So that’s is mean there is no need to spend more money on D750
Because the only I buying a camera is for the portraits
If you are asking me, there is no need to spend more money on the D750.
Thanks for answering my questions, you helped a lot, keep the good work 👍👍
I'm always happy to help.
Maarten Heilbron I see. Thank you!
Hi Marteen, should I go for a D610 or D750, I am a beginner level photography enthusiast.
There is little difference, either would be a good choice for a novice. Choose with your wallet and your hand - which one fits better.
Great review as always!!!
+Chayatat Lowpetsawat Thanks for the kind words, appreciated.
Very nice review
I learned so much
That's very kind of you to say, thanks for commenting.
Fantastic review, well done!
+Ayman El Nigoumi Thanks for the kind words.
I want to purchase this camera.
Yes I know it has no 4K.
But for great images at full frame it is perfect.
It will go well with my Nikon D750
Thanks for your thoughts.
+Maarten Heilbron It will go well with my Nikon D5500
+ruffdraft My new D5500 that is. The one I told you about before
Right.
+Maarten Heilbron Yeah so The D750 is one of the best full frame non 4K camera out there.
This camera is $1050 in my country brand new nowadays. That's a lot of camera for this kind of money :)
Glad to hear it's a camera that you can afford.
What do you think about the D750 as a strictly stills camera? My only real concern is the autofocus. Or perhaps, do you think it would it be worth it to save up for a few more months and buy a used D850?
I think the D750 is an excellent stills camera. Make sure you get a lens with the better AF-S motor.
@@MaartenHeilbron Most of my glass consists of ai/ais lenses, with a few af-d. Do you think the af-d lenses are still a viable option?
@@grantgauvreau2744 Of course, however they are slower and noisier.
Does the anti-aliasing feature appreciably affect the sharpness?
Not in my opinion - but I'd check with dpreview or dxomark who are a little more detailed and thorough on those kinds of issues.
Excellent review
Thank you kindly, kind words are always appreciated.
very good video but i have 1 comment. sometimes it feels like your talking to children. but again, very very good video, i subscribed and bookmarked this vid.
i was told that the Nikon 750 had serious functioning issues, do you know anything about this? thank you
REPLY
If you do a little research you will quickly find that these issues were found only on a small number of cameras with a specific serial number range. As far as I know these have all been repaired under warranty.
Thank you
Professional review well done.
+george thomas Thank you for your kind words.
I like the review, however felt you flashed through the function buttons and features a bit two fast.
Feel free to play it a second time to catch the parts you missed - also, youtube has tools to play it slower.
Well done. Thank you very much!
Always my pleasure, thanks for your kind words.
Very well explained
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video, thanks for the kind words.
Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant
Thanks, thanks, thanks!
thank you very much for this video sir
always my pleasure, thanks for the kind words.
should i take the 80d or the nikon d750 ?
And when you say "take" I assume you mean "buy" ... If you have any existing glass stay with the brand you already have. Otherwise, both are good - take the one that fits your wallet and hand, and you'd never leave at home. I haven't reviewed the 80D yet, so can't really do a detailed comparison for you. I suspect the D750 ...
