Thanks so much, saved time, money and anxiety as I was able to find the break right away instead of ordering, waiting and paying for one of those "cable locators"
This worked on my burried cable and saved my weekend ;-) there was a clear somewhat pulsing signal (robomow) on AM, i even didn't have to tune the AM frequency. thanks a lot
Firstly, thanks for your time in making such a clear and thorough video. Unfortunately for me it doesn't work, I have a solid green light at the base station but error code E1 on the mower. I have checked with a test loop and the mower is fine. My problem is I cannot hear any signal anywhere with the AM radio at any frequency, even at 1m either side of the of the base station , and to be clear, I have disconnected one terminal at the base station. My cable is buried about 3 or 4 cm down. My perimeter is about 150 m in length so replacing the wire is a lot of work but appears to be my only option now.
Thing is I can see from the vid that your cable is not buried under the soil. When these mowers are installed the cable is buried under the ground using a machine. Your radio can easily pick up contact or not, as the case may be, with a cable on the surface. I need help when the cable is buried.
It works quite well with buried cable too. I have used this method twice with good results. The cable was laid four years ago and relatively deep buried.
Mine is kind of weird. If I remove one end of perimeter wire (either one) - then signal is super weak on both side. If I put both of them in - then signal is good all over the perimeter. Can it be the end connection? Ants built their house right on top of the base, so I had to clean up the wire entrance from the soil

What frequency did you find was best?
AM low as you can
cheers very much mate!
Glad it helped
If this works I owe you a firm handshake. I’ll keep ya posted.
How did it end up?
my mate is still waiting for your handshake
Oh. I know the suspense is killing ya! I ended up getting an underground cable locator. I didn’t have much luck w the radio.
@@swis I tried the radio - it wasn't as straightfoward but it worked!
